Usually they put Banana (Saba kind) and a couple pieces of Jackfruit (Langka) in a lumpia wrapper then sprinkle it with brown / palm sugar or muscovado then fry it in hot oil. Coconut sugar is also good.

It's a joy watching you two enjoy our delicacies. How to eat puto-bumbong is you basically have to mix the shredded coconut with the brown sugar and then roll the puto-bumbong on it.
The edits + the dad jokes had me cackling. Oh my! Haha. Nothing beats the classic desserts with a good old fashioned tsokolate. Kakainggit!

Try the Christmas Hamon too. It's a leg of Roasted Ham served during the Christmas and New Years holidays. You can't miss the holidays without Spaghetti long noodles for Long Life and also the round shaped fruits on the table every Xmas holidays including grapes, oranges, Mandarin oranges, apples, kiwis and other round shaped Fruits. Also have roasted chestnuts.
Usually jackfruit is added with the banana in turon and its eaten with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Well I can smell it here in England, I miss our traditional delicacies....wish we can travel again once it's safer and eat my favourite putobungbong 😋😋😋

When I was young, my family used to go to the Manila Hotel and the Philippine Plaza to enjoy Traditional Holiday Filipino food in a hotel dining setting. Philippine Plaza is now Sofitel, but they still have a dining room for guests. I am told they have an amazing buffet. I hope you will try one or both this holiday season of 2021. You guys need to try Biñan Laguna puto with different varieties and bibingka, they are really known for it.
