I love the LX, I just wish Lexus would stick to its roots which made a Lexus a Lexus. I feel they are moving away from luxuriously appointed interiors head bent on sportiness trying to target BMW. They need to go back to making the interior look more upscale. My other gripe is with all the F-Sport models. Just because I want a F-Sport model does not mean I want a sport looking interior especially with the aluminum trim. I still want genuine wood or carbon fiber as options along with real powertrains if it's going to be a sports tuned vehicle. I know this vehicle was made with the middle east in mind but I feel this was a rushed to market LX 600 which is disappointing

    Hi Kirk & Family!
A wonderful review Kirk you have a beautiful family and it was a very nice video … I totally agree with you with every aspect of the 2023 Lexus LX 600 I am single and I don’t have any children and it doesn’t even fit my needs. I will tell you my 2021 LX 570; I love it to death it is everything I want, the technology is outdated but that’s OK. I purchased it because of the engine and the transmission and it’s basically bulletproof this is one vehicle I will have for the rest of my life among others in the future anyway great video as always I would love to see you do an LX 570 preferably a 2021 with your family and see how they like it if you could find a used one I only have a little over 2000 miles on mine I don’t drive it that much for now but I’m still trying to sell my house here in Texas and move back to Florida. Hopefully I will be there by this summer. I hope you and your family have a wonderful day and keep doing a fantastic job Kirk, you’re one of the best on TH-cam…🇺🇸

I learned something about that black out pkg add on for the premium, as I can’t stand the pretentious chrome silver grilles most of them have. The F sport wheels as mentioned just too rough a ride for 22’s for an ultra prem suv. Plus 22s and offroad have nothing in common. Here in the Sierras, we need capable units, no more than 20 or 21’s, preferably 18 or 19s.
Overall, between less cargo, a less smooth engine, not much more towing, weird console layout and higher price, along with zero trim level I really like, it’s a no for us. Will look at an older 570 or move up to a GX lux, etc.

Great review Kirk. It seems pretty compromised for such an expensive vehicle - and too bad about the drivetrain; I didn't know it didn't have the mild hybrid system. I guess I'll pass on the luxury part and hold out for the Toyota Land Cruiser and see if the packaging is any better. And as far as ease of finding the vehicle in a parking lot, we used to have a big Thule cargo box on top of a Suburban! Talk about easy to spot!

    • @springertube
      @springertube ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@huanronghu4432 ...And we've seen how well the Sequoia handled that, right? Totally messed up the rear seating/cargo configuration. Also, the hybrid drive unit takes up longitudinal space--between the engine and transmission which may factor into it? Since this (thankfully otherwise) was not sized like the Sequoia up front--that exaggerated, long hood/distance from windshield to "bumper" (grille)--it probably is not optimally configured for it. My guess is they'll smooth out this non hybrid V6/drivetrain's rough running issues, but as others others have said, should have (still) had a V-8!... either that or figure out a much less intrusive battery setup--maybe find some space running fore-aft under the floorboards either side of the drive shaft and exhaust?

@@springertube also, if you look under a Land Cruiser, and assume LX600 as well, everything is tucked up very high. Nothing really hangs down. Great ground clearance but that probably didn’t leave them the engineering room that you’re talking about to package the hybrid system. Good point.

Kirk, I thought your review was very balanced. The fact that the cheapest Sequoia offers a more powerful drivetrain than the most expensive LX should be a source of genuine embarrassment for Lexus. For every bonus mark the new LX receives for its undoubted luxury and build quality, it has to lose points for atrocious ergonomics and awful space efficiency. Can there possibly be a 3 ton SUV on the market with less space in the second and third rows? As is the case with just about every TNGA design, headroom is appallingly restricted. The perplexing oversights in the LX design make me really concerned about what Toyota is going to do to the upcoming GX, Prado and 4Runner. 🤨 On a happier note, I have forwarded this video to the Guinness Book of World Records because I believe you and your wife just broke the record for the most agreement ever displayed by a married couple. It was the year 2023, and the sun was beating down on the desert outside of Las Vegas. John was driving his brand new Lexus SUV down the empty highway when he saw a Range Rover parked on the side of the road, its hood open and smoke pouring out of the engine.
As John pulled over to see if he could help, he saw a beautiful woman in a sundress standing by the car, trying to wave down passing drivers.
"Are you okay?" John asked as he approached her.
"I'm not sure," she said, looking frazzled. "The engine just died and I can't seem to get it started again."
John took a closer look at the engine and realized that it was beyond his expertise. But he couldn't leave the woman stranded in the middle of the desert.
"Listen, I have a tow rope in my trunk," he said. "I can tow you into town and we can get you some help."
The woman looked at him skeptically. "How do I know I can trust you?"
John smiled. "Well, for starters, I'm driving a Lexus and I'm trying to help you out."
The woman hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. John attached the tow rope to her car and began pulling her down the highway.
As they drove, John and the woman talked and laughed, and he found himself drawn to her quick wit and intelligence. She told him that her name was Emily and that she was on her way to a job interview in Las Vegas.
When they finally arrived in town, John helped Emily get her car to a mechanic and waited with her until it was fixed. As they sat in the waiting room, John couldn't help but think about how much he had enjoyed spending time with her.
When the mechanic finally said that Emily's car was ready, John walked her out to the parking lot.
"I know we just met, but would you like to go out for dinner tonight?" he asked nervously.
    Emily smiled. "I'd like that."
That night, John and Emily went out to a fancy restaurant in the heart of the city. They talked and laughed over a bottle of wine, and John couldn't believe how easy it was to be around her.
As they walked out of the restaurant, John took Emily's hand and looked into her eyes.
"I know this is crazy, but I feel like I've known you forever," he said. "I don't want tonight to end."
Emily smiled and leaned in to kiss him. "Me neither."
Over the next few months, John and Emily fell deeply in love. They spent their weekends exploring the city and the surrounding countryside, and John loved nothing more than watching Emily's face light up as she saw something new.
One day, as they were driving down the highway, Emily turned to John and said, "You know, I never thought I'd fall for a guy driving a Lexus."
John laughed. "And I never thought I'd fall for a girl driving a Range Rover that broke down in the middle of the desert."
Emily smiled and leaned over to kiss him. "I guess fate works in mysterious ways."
As they drove off into the sunset, John knew that he had found the love of his life, and that he owed it all to his trusty Lexus and a broken-down Range Rover in the middle of the desert.

"uhhh everything else is going digital why can't this cluster be" yeah, okay. i'm tired of reviewers like you saying this crap to put as much unneeded technology as you can on these things because then the automakers really do listen and just like that, base model traditionalism is gone. you're evidentally unaware of the general going the LC series is even going for. not everybody wants digital everything and you need to understand that

I like it, but there is a reason why so many people buy the GM SUVs over this glorified Toyota Land Cruiser. Even people that can easily afford this Lexus still go with Yukons and Tahoes. A Tahoe runs circles around it in practicality and passenger space. I prefer the interior on the GM triplets too. You can't say that the GMs are unreliable either because you can spot a whole bunch of 20+ year old Tahoes around every corner.

This looks ugly, already outdated inside, lacking features, cramped rear seat, small cargo space and it gets very expensive very quickly
    As stated by MotorTrend:
“Times change, but the Lexus LX just hasn't kept up. Sure, the new-for-2022 LX600 is better, with a more efficient engine and improved tech, but the company's insistence on adhering to the golden ratio may be holding it back.
The 2022 LX's 112.2-inch wheelbase hasn't changed since 1995, and it shows. The opening into the third row is too small, and the second row isn't spacious enough. Add to that an excessive amount of body motions and a just-alright interior, and I'm left wondering what the LX offers besides the brand's reputation for high resale value and rock-solid reliability.”
