- Downhill skateboarding world champion @diegoponcelet cruising at 115km/h in a beautiful road in Spain. We only had one, maximum two runs, to get this right - the urgency, combined with the high speeds throughout, and the dream-like views made for a run we’ll never forget. Enjoy!

NOT smart. If you want to do a real speed run then set it up with the local authorities and have the road to yourself. This bandito stuff makes us all look like criminals. No wonder so many places have outlawed skateboarding of any kind on their premises.

@@martyschraderthis is planned; initial assessment had been done per Diego's statement that the locals are less than enthusiastically welcoming to the idea . So, using discretion, still respectfully, to grab a drop follow run would be the only way if you've been shot down asking in your manner. In/Outs are how to source solid skrt memories ,albeit stealthily..... no harm no foul ....

yeah, and trusting there isn't a branch or rock on the road.
We used to have smooth roads like that in California. Now with the corrupt and incompetent CalTrans, the roads are awful.
@@AndrewBravener trust me, most of the little rocks are either kicked away or crashed by the board. I don't ride my longboard even half of his speed on sometimes quit dirty roads but never had a problem with stones or rocks. A branch would be a different story but I believe they had a "sweeper" who checked the road before.

Lifelong freestyle skateboarder with an ignorant question for the group: how does Deigo not get speed wobbles?? Narrow trucks, short wheelbase... Is it amazing control alone? Amazing.
I'm sure his trucks are super tight. Beyond that, I don't know and would also like an expert's insight.
They're more than likely precision trucks CNC'd with very exacting tolerances. So, there's not much slop. They're probably *not* very tight though. It's all about comfort on the board, honestly.
There is a kind of self centering bias designed into downhill trucks.
Very different from freestyle skateboarding… Specific gear made to go fast + years of experience. We still get speed wobbles sometimes but with the right gear and practice you deal with it.
