@@DaMorg3 The board doesn't flip since the wheels dont suddenly grip the road, and it helps that he positions his weight behind the board and low. The wheels do wear down but if you avoid a 90 degree angle to the road while sliding (keep the board at a slight angle away from the 90) the wheels will continue to spin while rubbing against the road causing an even wearing down.

I must say, as an ex-skater in the 70s, I would’ve never have attempted that on such a short board or such narrow trucks! You were incredible, and the old guy in me said “oh my god, how dangerous!” The ex-skater in me remembered being towed by a motorbike at 100km/h and being stopped by the Police for doing 62km/h in a 50km/h. Great ride with balls of steel.
DH longboards decks have Really shorten these past 8 years. Specially here. Fiberglass/carbon plys though. Trucks are reversed king pins, not standard like in skateboards, and few other new geometric trucks set up are around, extra wide wheels with real hubs. And Diego's skills.

I used them on my Turner Summer Ski, Full Nose, which apparently, if I still had it, would be worth a fortune, now. Especially, after the racing success I had on it. I will not say anymore, because the last time I did, I got a torrent of abuse from nobodies, who weren't there! Needless to say, I wish my balls were still made of steel. Unfortunately, the realisation of my mortality has softened them!

i watched this 4min and couldn't find any right feeling for one, i'm in total aw, how crazy this ride is then in an absolut state of anxiety that everytime, the smallest error could lead to a horrible outcome also absolut fascintated about the ride itself and the control of the board I was just waiting for the flames of the ball bearings as you went into the curves ^^
This fellow is a master of his trade. Exceptional control and confidence in his ability. When I see a young person perform like this I know there is hope for the future of an ever-changing world.
I always have to stop and think when I see comments like this. How can a man flying down a hill on a skateboard provide hope for humanity (for our future)? It's very impressive, but for me it brings nothing to humanity. It's self indulgent adrenaline seeking. Again, I'm not saying it's not worth doing if that's what 'floats your boat', I'm not saying it's not impressive, but hope for humanity, or hope for the ever changing world? that makes no sense to me.
I've gone down a steep hill on Rollerblades going 60 km/hr. When you go that fast the tiniest wobbles can turn into disaster. I saw him wobbling at 117km/hr and my heart started racing. If you don't hold the line at that speed you wipe out. His control is amazing. Nerves of Steel.
There are so many things that could have gone wrong in the blink of an eye, especially with oncoming traffic but pretty amazing. I'd love to ride that road on my motorcycle!

the guy on the skateboard is doing some crazy stuff obviously but fantastic camera work too, smooth and steady AND they kept a consistent distance behind him the whole time, compensating for speed changes turns etc. incredible video!! fantastic work
since its a public road (and im pretty sure the swiss have similar laws, if not more rigit ones then us germans), you get the same punishment as driving a motorized vehicle "too fast", sooo your license goes into the shredder^^
If the guy has a driving license, he will definitely hand it over in Switzerland. No matter what device he was driving too fast with. The behavior is considered immature gross negligence because it poses a danger to other road users as well as to the cows in the pasture...🥳

This is so crazy, holy shit! I ride EUCs that go 55+mph but this is so much more insane. Any slightest mistake or board components failure and its most likely instant death. Congrats on such a crazy fun run, I was an intense watch!

I have done about 80 km/h with inline skates in a steep slope (24 years ago) and used a piece of plastic (called 'Liukuri' in Finland) as a sledge in a downhill skiing resort up to 90 km/h (32 years ago). But this was something else. 👍
