$300 per pair is not terrible. These were definitely made popular by Johnathan Ward from Icon. Seems the most reasonable guess for cross between private planes and land cruisers.
"factory supercharged"??? The TRD supercharger was a dealer option, but I don't think it was ever a factory option. Do prove me wrong if you can, show us the option plate on the truck and the decoded option. they're cool, no doubt. I have a 40th anniversary with a TRD supercharger that the kid drives. I have a 1fz-fe out of an Australian 105-series in a FJ40 with a NIB Katzuma supercharger on it, it's a blast to drive.
Looking very good! I am busy converting my 80 (Petrol) and considering a blower. The question is - how does the blower affect the fuel consumption when driving normally (town driving) and offroad (Bush and 4x4 conditions) At what refs does the blower kick in?
@@espd50 it's twin locked lol, the centre diff lock doesn't count because it's not on an axle. triple locked would be a 6 wheeler with 3 axles, each with a diff lock.
Hey! I just got 4.88 gears for my 80 on 35's.....I haven't put them in yet and now watching this video I'm scared to do it! Is 4.88 no good without a supercharger???
Its funny watching all these American videos banging on about " triple locked " like its a flex when its just making the transfer case function like a regular 4wd.
@@stellarbuilt nope. I get it's what most people say but it's wrong. By your logic, a vehile with center and rear locked diff would be twin locked, which is ridiculous and also wrong. A vehicle with a front and center locked diff would also be twin locked and is also wrong lol. And a vehicle with 3 axles (a six wheeler) would he quadruple locked which is asinine. It's twin locked so long as there's a locking differential on EACH AXLE. Center does not count towards it because the centre diff is not located on any axle, it's located between front and rear axle for 50/50 power split between front and rear wheels, all 4x4 vehicles have this, a center differential located between front and rear axles and if those same vehicles also have a locker on the rear or front diff, it's locked (single lock on one of the axles) A triple locked vehicle is one that has 3 axles, each having a locked differential, understand? Yes everyone says triple locked, I used to say it too when I just started overlanding(still new) and was corrected and asked why that is, the reason I just gave u is the reason one of overlander guys explained.
Nice build! LOL at the Sun visors! Believe it or not, my OEM ones still work😂😂.
Going on 18 years and 248,000 miles on my supercharged FZJ80.
Attention to detail like no other, very well done and thorough build.
My favorite rig check yet, love the simplicity and the livery .looks great 👍🏼👍🏼
That's right, we all need to know the temp on the 80! SoOO Trruee!!
Jonathan Ward from TLC4x4 and Icon put those visors in his builds originally
Iv been looking for content like this for over a year. Keep your channel going! This is amazing! Thumbs way up. Amazing!
Love it. It's probably the nicest 80 series build I've seen.
Gorgeous build!
It really is a beautiful truck.
Nicely done!
Really like the tinted sun visors. I'm gonna check out getting a set for my 80. Nice rig.
Yeah those Rosen visors are top notch!
Sick video!

Probably made in one of those with the bed foldown feature lol
Very cool! Just wondering if you have ever built out a First Gen Tundra?
Last year of the 80 series is 2006 for South America. So you can get a newer 80
I have a 2005 80 series dual color, fridge full time all wheel drive etc its has 150k kilometers. I love that damn car
Nice rig. The Daily’s ride 👍that’s the true way how to enjoy the cruiser.
Beautiful truck, one of the nicest 80s we've had the opportunity to work on.
love these rig checks!
beautiful truck
Beautiful trok 😍
Sweet looking rig. Do you happen to have a link to the background music/artist?
You’re naming every part on the truck before the owner even gets to say anything, so it’s your walk around lol awesome rig!
Well we did build this truck so it is just as dear to us as it is to Dave :) We love this thing!
Art ...useful art.
What snorkel is that? Looks alot bigger then the standard lx450/80 series one?
Love it
Where can I get the sun visors? I’m doing my own 80 series build and would love to add that to my rig
Pretty sure it was actually Jonathan Ward who got Rosen to make those visors

Thank Johnathan, he convinced them to make them for his fj40 icon and now the 80's. Not cheep but great product..
Trucks are cool but that new FORKLIFT!! 😍😍😍
The FlexMaster 3000 is our pride and joy!
Nice build! Not overdone.

My grandpa give me his 80 series and I want to put a supercharger that why I'm here and have factory locker differential ❤👍

It's going to kick in whenever you give it any sort of "extra" throttle input. Much different from a turbo
Only 7% with lockers? Wow. I'm going to pocket that tasty fact.
I have two triple locked. Was considering selling one, maybe I’ll wait.

The 4.88 will be good for 35s. The truck in the video is on 37s, for reference.

All 4x4s dont have a center differential. It has a center diff because it is awd. It is triple locked
