    Hi guy, thanks for share video helpfull! i have a question as if folder-shared is recorded full from NVR, and can you trainning to override NAS for recording' NVR by NAS.

  • @stuartlitchfield8050
    @stuartlitchfield8050 ปีที่แล้ว

    Where would you navigate to on your NAS to see the recordings you have just set up? Presumably there will be a file on the QNAP interface somewhere with a folder containing all of the recordings? Basically what would the file path be? If you wanted to actually find your recorded data on the NAS where would you have to go? Thanks by the way I found the video really helpful. Would you recommend QNAP over synology for surveillance applications?

    • @ozzysero1976
      @ozzysero1976  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a shared folder so you can access from your pc or laptop or you can map it for easy access. You can either browse to your network and locate your nas, all shared folder should show up with the right permission of course. Or open run and type your nas ip e.g \\192.168.1.100 that should direct you to the nas shared folder. Or open it through the nas client application. You can also playback from the NVR GUI. I don’t have synology so I can’t tell which but I am sure they are both good and does it’s purpose.

    Hi there, nice video :) i have a question if you have a moment... Can you just setup the camera to record to the NAS or do you need a perment running HIK nvr to route the video to the NAS? Or can you have HIK software on a PC and setup the cameras to record to NAS but then can have the PC off and the cameras continue to record to NAS? thank you :)

    • @ozzysero1976
      @ozzysero1976  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, mostly HK IP cameras support this feature. You need to make sure you NAS and IP Camera are in the same network and can see each other. Setup your NAS the way I did in my tutorial and you then browse to your ip camera through web interface then configuration > storage > storage management > Net HDD > then fill up the fields Server Address and the file path and click test button to check. Yes you can setup on PC too but it has to be turned on all the time to have it recording. Some IP cameras has SD card slot also if you want a very minimal setup or if you want to getaway with NVR. Cheers!

    Good job! This video helped me a lot, to connect my hikvision with my qnap.
    Other videos says, there must be one user for each cam. Is it true or can i manage the cams with my qnap-admin-account?

    • @ozzysero1976

      Glad it helped! NFS service is through IP address or network and doesn't require user/password. As you can see, I added the NVR's IP address with read/write permission to the NFS host access.

    Great Video, will try it. Is the NAS on your home Network IP or on the NVR Camera IP Range? Is there a way to configure that only events get stored on the NAS? Can you tell me which model NVR / NAS you are using? Many thanks!

      My NAS and NVR are in the same IP range or network. Yes you can setup to record only events that can be done from your NVR record settings. I have Hikvision DS-7608N-E2 / 8P and QNAP NAS TS-453A. Hope that helps.

      I'm asking the same question as everything is already in place on your video. I want the NAS to connect to the NVR without internet as I just want more TB storage. Why is it way beyond NVR makers to update their software/firmware to intuitive instead of having a degree in computer science to understand any of it?
