QuFTP provides a secure FTP solution, solving this security problem with TLS/ SSL support. With QuFTP's centralized and intuitive dashboard, administrators can effortlessly monitor and manage all FTP related activities from a single interface.
    With QuFTP installed on your NAS, you can easily deploy and control all FTP related activities through a single interface. QuFTP allows you to customize individual permissions for users and groups, improving FTP security and management efficiency. You can configure QoS (Quality of Service) settings and limit the number of simultaneous connections to ensure that your NAS and client devices run smoothly.
    Set folder-level permissions for different users and groups. Each folder can be set to read-only, write-only, or deny read and write.
    Limit the number of simultaneous connections and allocate different bandwidth to control individual users' upload and download speeds.
    If an event occurs, you will be notified instantly through the Notification Center, allowing you to easily monitor FTP activities and stay informed at all times.
    QuFTP's rule engine allows you to create custom access permissions for individual users or groups, such as access hours, limit access to only FTP root folders, or automatic watermark insertion.
    QuFTP enables you to directly view all FTP-related system event logs, fulfilling quick and easy management.
    Easily mount shared folders from a remote NAS and efficiently manage all your files across different servers as if they were stored locally through a single interface.

    2:00 NOTE: FTP with SSL (FTPS) is NOT encrypted FTP! It only encrypts the connection layer (username and password). The transmitted data is not encrypted (e.g. file names and file contents). That's what SFTP is for!!!

    Mahout what you’re saying around 06:00: is it really safe with Port forwarding? I have heard many use VPN in order to connect to the FTP remotely. Can you explain more who these two methods work? Is there a way to email you directly?

    so, you are showing how to access ftp in a local network. whats the deal about that ? you could use user access via share folders..... the magic is to make the ftp accessable from outside. So, how does it work with your software ? ddns ? qnap cloud ?

      Im having problem with remote access using a DNS and FTP over SSL/TSL Explicit. QuFTP doesnt know how to route traffic. I use Port Forwarding 21. Do you have any ideas?

    Hi. The whole question is: how do I access remotely to the FTP of my QuNap? Where do I find the IP address? What are the credentials? Is there a real documentation somewhere?

    • @QNAPUK
      @QNAPUK  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As everyones internet connection is different, it's hard to show everything for all. We do have a feature on the NAS called MyQNAPCloud, within this is a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) feature that lets you create a link like "philip.myqnapcloud.com" and you can use that as your remote access link instead of the IP. If you have a Static IP then your ISP will be able to inform you.
      The credentials are the same as you would use to login to the NAS in any other way.

    Now that the FTP is no longer a part of the control panel, will it still start up automatically when the NAS starts up? If not, how do I get QuFTP to start up when the NAS starts up? I don't see any setting anywhere to define whether it gets launched on startup or not.

    • @QNAPUK
      @QNAPUK  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If an app was started when the NAS was shut down, it will automatically start again the next time it boots up. You can start/stop apps in the App Center. But you will not have to manually start it each time, if you never stop the app, it will always be running each time the NAS boots up.

    how to setup a Qnap Firewall, so some one can access my ftp from any place all around the world?

    • @QNAPUK
      @QNAPUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd probably recommend just running the firewall on your router and port forwarding through that initially... make sure everything is working, then enable QuFirewall if you feel you need it.

      The default passive FTP port range is 55536-56559, did you forward those through the firewall too to the NAS?

    • @QNAPUK

      Have you tried change the PASV/Passive setting in FileZilla from one option to the other? I believe you can specify the passive port range in FileZilla, make sure it matches what you forwarded.

    Your videos are great but QNAPS not so much, I've been using them for way over 10+ years and I've decided to abandon ship.
    I'm sick of the constant vulnerbilities and paying over the top for low spec hardware, so I'm going to build my own one using some free open source software.

      @@andyhey4576 -- I have and support both but prefer QNAP. If Synology had a LCD screen I would rate them about the same. You can walk up to any QNAP NAS and immediately see on a small LCD screen if everything OK. Also, the screen shows you the DHCP assigned IP on a new install or switching the NAS to a different subnet. No LCD screen is a show stopper for me and I have never had a QNAP box need anything other than an occasional HD swapped out.
