I use battery terminal protectors. Looks like two washers/non- conductive, with anti-corrotion (oily) solution. And again, i was also thinking about getting one of those cleaners for the terminals. Never needed it untill you sold it to me with the dj talk! Hahaha!!! I'm getting one for sure!!! Thanks always, drew. I have always sprayed that stuff on and then wash it off with water. Then wash the water way with a water hose. But be mindful of other electrical stuff. So you don’t get things wet with the water that don’t really need to get wet. That is the same cleaner we use at work and we use the protection stuff from the same company.

I'm not sure if the company has changed but they used to sell great used cars in good shape. A R it is battery acid in there. But the distilled water you add to it helps with the chemical reaction that produces the battery acid. You still have to be careful when opening it cause it is not water in there. But you are adding the water to become battery acid.

I have a battery from 2013. It would only ever charge to halfway for the past several years. Still worked and was reliable. Today I go out to start car and it's toast. I find tons of corrosion on the positive side. I clean the corrosion off, charge the battery. It charges, car starts 3 times in a row. All good. 8 hours later I check again. Battery is dead again. Try to charge battery again - charger will not function and gives error. So if you have a lot of corrosion on your battery and its nearing end of life (7 years or older) don't bother with it, buy a new battery.

Clean the terminals again. My car wouldnt start even with a new battery. Cleaned the termials but it only helped a littled. I finallt noticed a tiny spec of corosion, small as fuck between the bolt was killing my battery. Cleaned it yesterday and now it starts up
The powder really is not harmful, its when its in liquid form sulfuric acid powder is not going to do anything, acids needs to be moist to be active, hence why your battery has water in it in the first place and not just powder.
Mine keeps corroding and Idky. I have a 2013 Camry and have a stereo but never had issues till a stereo shop installed a “Big 3” I had them take it out. I’m still having issues like my key fob not getting read by my car’s ignition and then out of no where it comes to life and I mean I’ve literally done everything I can think of and this electrical shop.. any ideas?
3:34 You can safely pull the positive terminal off to clean it, no problem. You already have the negative ground cable off, so there's no chance of shorting if you touch metal.
Yes it did start after charging the battery but the battery is still bad 2 years after the video, I have to charge the battery full to start the car. Then its dead a day later. So this corrosion is a good sign you probably need a new battery sòon. This is not my.primary driving car so it sits and the old battery just dies now. I haven't wanted to buy a new battery for it so I just leave a trickle charger attached to it to let the battery life it's last life, I don't dare drive anywhere and turn the car off though lol if be stuck.
That battery and box is the stupidest placed part on this damn car cleaned the posts with coke and grease jumped her off to charge the battery now wait and see if it starts back up tomorrow evening
@@drewsquickfix yeah I put grease and everything on the terminals clean battery still dies I did a parasitic draw test with my tester showed 0.71 draw I removed the white clip with a double 30Amp fuses and it went to 0.29 and 0.30 I'm so confused what could be wrong the battery is fairly new also

Corrosion on the positive battery terminal is from overcharging the battery caused by a failed diode in the alternator voltage regular.

You can also pop those two caps off and see if there is water in the cells and if there is not add distilled water not just tap water.

I would just remove the battery if it's been there a while. Make it an opportunity to clean and inspect the entire thing.

If your hands are sweaty you can activate it.
You know the other end of your brush tool unscrews with a quarter turn, exposing a brush for inside the terminal clamps.
