  • When a young Polish countertenor was asked to jump in for an indisposed colleague, he had no idea his life was about to change. Thinking he was singing for French radio, he arrived in his casual summer attire and subsequently broke the Internet!! Beautiful singing from this man, so full of charisma and honesty. He deserves all the continued success!
This review/ analysis is only of Section A of the aria.

Isn't it lovely how he sings with intent and meaning? And how he resembles Michelangelo's David doesn't hurt either.

I can see why it was such a smash hit. All the musical ingredients plus that accidentally “just fell out of bed” look!!

I'm surprised you didn't give props to the sound engineer. When you listen to the original video, you'll hear the volume of applause you can hear from the audience. You can hear everything, but he totally cast a spell on them for the entirety of the performance.

I remember reading several comments about his singing technique was bad because he is not your typical baroque singer (exp. not how they had had learnt from music school, they avoided singing like jakob, or his voice was a beginner level), i guess now why i can tell i like his vocal because he is unique on his own, just as you said. I have listened to several countertenors, jakob suits me the best

I discover him 2 week ago and I'm in love even if classic music is not my taste. But I start to apriciate this music.

Agreed William. Beautiful voice & another fantastic reaction. Just a quick note that Amira has just last week put out another
‘’ informal ‘’ video titled Song to the Moon & it’s beautiful.
    Cheers Graeme

You need to have a look at a young tenor by the name of Jonathan Antoine. He is phenomenal.

@@graemeblackburn7511 That would be a great idea and maybe follow on with their duets and then his solo career.

How do you end up cutting out the climax of the piece? And most of the piece? What makes you think that is okay? Be ashamed. This piece and Orlinski deserves better.

    God! I'm always respectful..
Yes, althouh the story is a bit irrelevant due to you do not talk about tecnique: messa di voce, trills of all kind cadenzas, vitrato, cavatinas and of course, " falsetto" ; he is to be consider a very good singer, not the unique one who sings Vivaldi, the best..
Sorry, sir , - sound under train? Excuse me, but to me is the opposite, this is why anywhere, anyhow, he can sing so beautifully; he is " extremely" trained as Jaroussky, as Sholl; hours and hours ; while we are memorizing the text ; we are exercising pure and absolute technique

I'm not sure what happened to my comment, I saw Jakub do this as an encore at UC Berkeley and the audience went completely nuts, it was fantastic. He and Michal Biel on the piano. The two of them are amazing to see in concert, I could just about follow them around the world, like the Grateful Dead LOL.
