Move captions AND their variable width backgrounds UP vertically, in Camtasia Studio. In Camtasia, there is NO easy way to change the vertical position of your captions, when using Camtasia’s “captioning” feature or importing an SRT file into your video with Camtasia. In this video, I solve the problem of how to get your captions up off the very bottom of your video, and place them vertically, wherever you like.

This is great, but I have a question. Are the new captions searchable when done this way?
I think you might be referring to when you save a video along with Techsmith's Smart Player. When you do that, then you'd have the option to use "closed captions" (when the viewer has the ability to turn them on or off). However, when burning the captions into the video (or baking them in), regardless of whether you use the subtitle track or the method shown in this video (creating an image of the captions), when the captions are burned in, they would not be searchable. I hope that helps!
