Don't ever stop making videos Matt! You are my therapy whilst in this current prison. Don't ever be told you are not an essential worker because Obsessed time IS essential to many many people in the world right now. Your positive attitude towards the situation and indeed just in life in general is exactly what I need right now. On a side note after TJ announced you were going to be sorting out his garage I cannot wait for that!!! In the meantime you may want to start practicing Thai Chi in preparation for his level of unorganizedness! haha!

What I like to do in my phone app where I keep track of car maintenance, is to make a note with a list of tools I need for an oil change. Then I can get everything out all at once for whatever vehicle I'm working on, and not have to keep getting up and down, up and down, back and forth to the tool box a bunch of times.

One of the coolest cars ever because oil changes on this are easy and cheap. This isn't really a super car, it's an exotic sports car that happens to be one of the best road cars money can buy but despite that, if you can afford to buy it, you really don't need a large salary after that to maintain it and I love that.

Hey good day. Could you do a video on car oil in general, best ones to use on performance cars cold and hot climates what the numbers stand for,, then oil used on your Porsche, Corvette, all your cars, which is best brand, type spec and why. There is so much Miss leading info on the net. I understand owners manual suggestion is best but what if you mod your car turbo or supercharging it, 4, 6,or v8 etc.

Years ago I read an article by Dr. Haas on Ferrari Chat where he discusses oil viscosity at ambient vs. operating temps, and the oil pressure developed at each temperature. Basically older Ferraris specified a particular oil pressure at a particular temperature, instead of a particular viscosity. And so it was up to the user to figure out what oil viscosity would work at a particular operating temperature. What I took away from that was that any oil at ambient temp is too thick to flow like it should at operating temp, and therefore the thinnest oil when cold, that still provides the correct viscosity at operating temp was best to reduce the engine wear that happens during cold startup. Ever since then I started using 0w oil on all my vehicles.

Not sure about Porsche's, but "torque specs" for most all oil filters is to tighten by hand until solid contact is made between the gasket and the flange, and then hand tight 1/2 turn more. You never want to over tighten the oil filter.

I know a guy who bought a 911 in the 70’s when he was stationed in Germany while in the army and when he was at the factory in Germany he asked the guy who was giving him the run down of his new 911, he asked how to properly break in the engine.. The man looked at him, pointed at the redline on the tac, and said, “That’s how”. Haha It’s a Porsche. The only supercar that is built to be driven HARD, and doesn’t break down and cost you 10’s of thousands of dollars every. Other week like a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or ESPECIALLY a Mclaren... haha

Great find/video. Although to be a little critical on your "break in" comment, some enthusiasts were probably gasping at the thought of "just drive it". I do agree with that but to be technical it would have been nice to hear if you varied the rpm's when you drove it, or wound up the rpm's a time or two to "seat the rings"? There's an argument for all ways but it would have been good to get an opinion so to say. Just sayin. Thanks

Hey, Matt. Glad to see the GT3 get some love again. Is the giveaway officially starting today (April 15th), or has it been postponed?

On my .1 GT3 if you just sit and let the car idle level in the garage for 3-5 minutes that will trigger the oil capacity reading and you don't have to go out driving and meet all the requirements. It should be the same for your .2 RS.
