I'm so glad you also curse like I do when working on cars. Having a lift is a game changer however when changing oil. BTW I drove a GT3 on a track from the extreme experience and I really loved that car. It was surprising comfortable inside too. Keep up the awesome videos gents!!!
The easiest one to do an oil change on among other supercars in the same league. But yes I got that oil spill too cleaning up took longer than the oil change itself LOL. That center exhaust look stock…. Headers cats and side mufflers changed/bypassed…side mufflers are mostly to control drones I think center to control volume
Golf tees are often used on these cars to plug the vacuum line that actuates the flap to quiet the exhaust. I would check those vacuum lines to see if they are connected.
I like to DIY, changed the oil a number of times on my older Boxster 986 and my 911/996... But recently with a newer 991.2 I paid the indy mechanic $300 for the oil change. Once up on top you are at risk for breaking the fan clips or knocking your wrench against the spoiler to get the filter off (991.2 has filter on top of engine, diff from this GT3 interesting to see, Dan). And not having a lift adds to the hassle factor. Oh, and the whole thing about no dipstick and how much oil to add - spend some time googling how much oil to add to a 991... and what happens if its overfilled... Then, oh crap how do we reset the oil light without a fancy OBD reader? All this to save $150-$200? I'd rather at this point to have the mechanic bear all the risk. Same for brakes. I can do brakes but stepped back for the 991 and punted to the expert/indy guy.... On the other hand, my son and I did the oil in his Mercedes W124 in about 20 min. That was a rewarding project.
Also, for that 3rd drain plug, put a wrench on the Allen socket and you turn it with a wrench, not a ratchet. And, you shouldn’t be pre-filling oil filters. No manufacturer I’ve ever come across in over 20 years of wrenching as ever said to pre fill a filter. And, many say not to pre fill. It’s not a good idea, the engine still has oil in it and it’s fine. Even giant oil filters that hold gallons of oil, CAT specifically states not to prefill the oil filter. Just oil the gasket and install the filter.
I know its gone but if the buyers sees this @ 21k most likely tracked the gear box needs an oil change and the wheel bearings need service ie replaced.
You need scotch brite pads on your oil catch pan. Stops it from splashing so bad.
Yeah good call
I like the way you ensured the plugs and filter were tightened to factory torque specs /s
Yup
Nice job Dan! Sticking to your roots.
Thanks!

Haha I think most people curse a lot working on cars. If they don't, I wouldn't trust them
Dare I say it, "it's like Deja vu all over again!" RIP Yogi!
Good luck with the RS! Those are awesome cars if driven properly...
Yes it is

I believe you are correct
This was an impressive oil change didnt expect it to shoot out like a volcano
Yeah clearly I didn't either
Nice. you need one of those plastic trays extensions for the oil collector, it has a mesh inside too to prevent splashing
Apparently.

Yeah
You can fill the filter with oil and the pleats will absorb it all, twice, and you can still install it sideways, without it dripping.
Ah nice
Dan ? If that's the worst part of your day, you're doing great, Champ !!!!
Congrats on selling it !!!
Haha thanks. I think the car was trying to get back at me

Yeah honestly for that little savings, probably not worth it in most instances
You left us hanging with what size torx was needed to get the under tray off
Ah crap I can't remember if it was 30 or 27.
@@normalguysupercar the curiosity is killing me! Lol I’m jk but I did want to know, for what reason, no idea
Not using torque specs and also putting that under tray back on before you started the car is a huge L.
Oh noes!
I don't know why but this was a really relaxing video. Dan doin ASMR 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed!

Ok
Watching Dan do oil changes is pure entertainment/gold lolololol.
Lol damn oil
Does Porsche recommend which pan to drain first?
Well... If I did it again I wouldn't start with the sump. Lol
You drain the oil tank first and then the residual in the dry sump.
It NOT the Porsche it the Dan Valdez Tech 😂
I'm not gonna say you're wrong
I know its gone but if the buyers sees this @ 21k most likely tracked the gear box needs an oil change and the wheel bearings need service ie replaced.
That's assuming that they haven't already been serviced
Plug 2 should have probably been drained first ?
Yeah... Probably
Do you think that golf tee was used to plug a hose from an exhaust valve? I’ve seen people do it before…
It's possible but the valves were removed with the aftermarket exhaust so I suspect it just picked one up on the road
What scan tool was that ?
Launch x431
Updated Ferrari oil splash! Woo 🎉
Lol yes yes.
“Uh I got it in the face” - that’s what she said
Lol accurate
Not many people can say a GT3RS shot its shot on thier face. lol
Lol!
Peeing out sideways in German is seitwärts pinkeln, by autotranslate.
Lol that's awesome
Kinda funny, a little poetic @9:11
Lol! Very
What does Porsche charge for an oil change ? $600 ?
Sounds about right.
Thank You for the reply@@normalguysupercar
Repeat after me: I will use a torque wrench for final tightening of all fluid fill and drain plugs. smh
I did, my hand is calibrated to perfection.
WUNDERBAR HERR STUBB. 😊
Lol
So you're suggesting this GT3 is crapping on you for crapping on Porsche? 😂
Lol yes actually!
That engine really had to pee
Lol yup
❤
Yup
Blames the car hahaha
Look yes
2:37....stupid Porsche! ha ha ha ha
Lol yup
Seems to me to be "OE"............................................... Operator Error. 😄

SO GLAD ITS GONE ! Just goes to show you can make money off Porsche because they move fast Special People Buy Italian cars
Lol
Do you mean Special People
What a poorly designed and engineered piece of junk. I'll give you $50 for it.
Lol
Safety glasses. For when your oil changes, get excited to quickly 🛢💦
Lol yes
I've told him repeatedly to wear safety glasses.....
