Restructuring the Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot

  • In this video I will show you how I went about the process of reimaging my Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot and take you through card-by-card the restructuring process.
    The interpretations of the cards are all my own creations, inspired by the artwork and built upon my foundational knowledge of the Tarot. I have layered every card with my own understanding, crafted as much by my outer experiences as the whisperings of my intuition. A much requested video, I hope that you may find new insights and inspirations to help you on your journey. Here is a download of the structure I used: dawnmichelletarot.com/shared/...

    What a fun project! So thoughtfully done. I wrote the LWB for this deck and had some of the same problems you had with it -- how in the world to make the images go with a RWS interpretation. The publisher had already chosen the art for each card, but I did shuffle a few. For the Ceccoli Oracle deck, I got to name them all myself, which is a different kind of fun. :-)

      That had to have been a challenge for sure! I don't have the oracle yet but it is on my list, I can't wait to see what you came up with for them. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️

    This is the most mind blowing tarot video I have ever seen. I have thought about different interpretations for cards, but never thought about totally changing the cards themselves. I have always thought of decks as "fixed" things for some reason. You just changed my worldview and I'm going to have to process that. Thank you.

    This is brilliant! 💜 I’ve done the same thing with other decks and it’s a great way to make a deck more workable. I had the same issues when I did this with my Mary-El but it worked out great and helped me use a deck who images I loved but didn’t resonate so much in their original positions. This is also part of the reason a deck I’m finishing up doesn’t have titles, so I can move the cards around or switch them up as needed. I’m setting up for a client but I’m really looking forward to hearing your associations.
    And your journal..... holy moly I love it!!!!!

    • @DawnMichelleTarot

      Thank you so much, it has been a labor of love. 😊 I thought about doing it to my Mary-El as well but I was determined to figure that deck out (I didn't want it to win!) I agree that it's a great way to work with a "stubborn" deck that just doesn't want to connect. 😊

    Wow! I am blown away by your depth and understanding of the tarot. How you have reimagined this is truly the work of a master. I am so appreciative of how you have shown that there is a way to honour our needs as users of the cards without disrespecting the work of the author. It feels very authentic and inspiring to me to really look at some decks I have which don't resonate or which I haven't connected with to see if a little shuffling 😜 wouldn't change that. This video is incredible. I am so so so inspired right now. I just bought a gorgeous ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddess oracle deck but it’s in French which I don’t speak. It has a few notes pages so I can translate and make notes but I hate writing in guidebooks. Anyway you have completely inspired me here. I will MAKE a guide book so I can fit everything when I translate it that way I don’t have to write in the original and try to squeeze everything in. I also love the reassignments here, they’re wonderful. I too love this deck and this art but I don’t like the original assignments.

    This is one of my favorite decks and I am BLOWN AWAY by how good it looks borderless. The only problem is that I would have to memorize the cards a lot more before I could cut the borders off. LOVE your journal as well, totally inspired me to start a tarot journal.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isn't it stunning borderless? I found that by putting the originals in my journal I could just look a card up when I wasn't sure what it's association was. Although I find this deck reads really intuitive for me. But if you note the original cards in your journal it would give you a reference point. Also, a lot of times I take a photo of the whole deck before I trim off titles, that way I always have a digital reference in case I get stumped. Just some food for thought. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    Lady,
    I am amazed at how you think.
    You are entitled and free.
    I love this deck but don't know enough Tarot to take these liberties.
    It's far easier to stretch my mind to fit the card images.
    *I figure if you like a deck enough to purchase it, you accept it as is.
    The amount of work you put into your chosen alterations is dizzying, though you probably don't see it as "work" but as a labour of pure love.
    *I'm sure to come around though.
    I used to think that if you "got" a violent boyfriend, that was simply your lot in life.
    *I learned.

    This is so interesting and well done! I had to watch this video again in order to have all the needed time to read through all the pages of your new LWB bacause I learned many new useful interpretations of the cards 😻 I'd love to see many other 'restructuring' videos like this and the John Bauer Tarot's, though I understand it is a very time consuming process for you ^^'... But I really love the original 'tarot' content that you propose to us viewers, it makes your channel different from the other ones! 👏🏻 I have a question for you, have you ever thought about designing your own deck? I totally agree that your new 9 of pentacles fits the meaning better and it's way prettier too ;)

      I actually have the entire contents of this journal typed up, I would be happy to email it to you if you'd like (just shoot me an email at hello@bohotarot.com.) I am so glad that you are enjoying my content, I try to put my own spin on things (and hope that it resonates with people!) I have thought about doing other deep explorations of decks but I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested. 😊 I am actually working on creating two decks at the moment, so hopefully some time in the future those will see the light of day. 😊 Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words, it is much appreciated!

    Just now finding this fantastic video. Technical question. How did you trim the borders so neatly?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a process that I follow that includes using guides on my trimmer. I have a trim tutorial on my chant that walks through it if you're interested. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    What a beautiful journal! I am curious how you got the names of the girls in the cards. Is this from another Nicoletta book, or did you just intuit them?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no, that was through research. 🙂 Most (if not all) are on the artist's website, so I looked them up there and noted which cards depicted which artwork. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    I like your restructuring so much -- you're a genius and I wonder how much effort, time, and energy you've placed in this project. I'm tempted to cut the borders off as well and do my own restructuring, with yours as a guide, but I'm terrible with deck mods so... I'm still holding back.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The deck mod probably took a couple of hours, but I didn't do it all in one day. 😊 I trimmed it one afternoon, rebacked it another and then went back and edged later on. (The journal is a different story, that took weeks! Lol) as for restructuring it, that again was another few hours. Writing everything back into the journal took the longest actually, I did that little bits at the time over several days. It's a really wonderful and fun process over all, and I enjoyed spending that time with my deck. 😊 Try trimming on a cheap deck of playing cards (or a cheap tarot deck) first, that will help you get the hang of it and build your confidence. Let me know if you decide to tackle it! ❤️

    One question: how are you going to label the cards once the note tabs are removed

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't label them, I left them down to just the artwork. After working with them for a while I know what each cards new position is for me, but if I forgot, I have it noted in my journal as well. I have heard people using sharpie to write on the top of their cards, but I've never done it. 🙂

    I L.O.V.E. This!!!! I'm defo down to do this mod. I was wondering since you removed that card what card are you lacking since you have 77 cards now?I thought maybe making it a sort of wild card perhaps? I want to buy like 3 versions of this deck and play with it! Thanks for the inspiration, you deserve lots more subscribers! Love this video!!
