Thanks for the kind words about the LWBs, Lisa! Great choices of keywords for the oracle cards. One of the words I used for Nicoletta's art on the cards is bittersweet -- not in a sappy nostalgic sense, but quite literally, like ultra-dark chocolate that is almost unpleasant to eat, and yet.... and yet .... there's a heady rush from it as well. The dark side can be quite compelling. As I mentioned on one of your other videos, I don't see these characters as little girls but rather as dolls. What YOU bring to them is what gives them personality and perceived experience. It's a great, creepy, beautiful tarot deck and oracle, and I enjoyed your video about it!

This deck is very troubling. I have this deck but it's a shit bomb and kinda good at the same time. Needs to be interpreted by each individual. This is a dark deck regardless of the definitions from the guidebook. This deck is dark and should come with a warning if you have had childhood trauma. A guidebook could be created centered around the experience of children that is more of a fairytale warning. This is a deck of how children are abused and how the abused children cope. This is in no way a regular tarot deck with the RWS meanings, that's why it's so hard to interpret.

I got the tarot deck when it first came out and I've always adored it. American society wears as mask of civility, order, and logic so as a person raised in severe dysfunction, I love when people and things are real or brave enough to pull back the veil and shows the darkness that lies beneath and oozes out the sides. That's what this tarot deck does. People who fear what's in the darkness or really don't want to know what's behind the veil are going to hate this deck. It's a forced look at everything nobody wants to see but since I've already seen it, it's validation of my experiences and the fact that society is just one big gas light.
I'm going to have to take a look at the orace deck now.

I wish I could see the power of innocence that you mention! For me this deck feels….ill. Like some disease or despair is overwhelming that innocence. The doe-eyed girl, the nursery toys, the sugar and flowers…and the violence perpetrated both against her and by her own hand against others, the sexualization and phallic shapes, and the nervous sort of energy the characters so often seem to display…damn. Just damn. I love her style but the subject tends to repel me, and I wish it were otherwise. Thank you for your thoughtful walk through!

    • @lauramayfair7887
      @lauramayfair7887 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Erin, I have the same visceral reaction to this deck that you do. I cannot work with it. I can't get past the sexualization of the girl and I don't see reclamation of power at all. I see deep wounds that have created a deeply wounded individual that likewise wields her power in harmful ways, This is just my perception, of course. This deck is a very hard no for me.
But for people who view it differently, I am glad it works for them.

Hi!I just bought it cause I really needed to have it. I agree with your vision (and really love also the reading of Lisa, so insightful), and that is precisely why I bought it. I have had to work through childhood trauma from emotional neglet and abuse (nothing physical) and this has sometimes helped me open up other people situations (just talking) and I think this deck might really help me combine the knowledge I, unfortunately, had to gain in this regard and maybe bring it to others as well. I feel this deck really pulls on the things you said (despair, anxiety, abuse, received and consequently also inflicted, loneliness, etc...) and does so in a very dry way. It does not romanticise them, it does not make them softer, or prettier. Shit is shit and has to be seen for what it is to learn from it. It allows to see the bad we received, how that then lead to us lacking in our behaviours, so we can both see how we have been hurt and therefore develop compassion towards ourselves, while still taking responsability for our own action and growth, becoming free and being better. I feel these images really help entering this space, opening up beliefs and patterns and working through them. Said so, if I wouldn't see this deck from this perspective, I would feel extremely uncomfortable as well, so I totally get your point of view as well =)

Love this! Your walkthroughs are always so helpful. I loved Nicoletta's artwork long before I discovered this deck, and my impressions of it were - love the art, now put the deck away on the shelf because as far as tarot goes it don't make sense. I think you're right in this is not a deck for tarot beginners. I have discovered a number of decks I initially had trouble with, I now find easier to approach by 'making the art fit the system'. I'm enjoying, now that I know the system better, deep diving into decks and looking at the label first and my old associations with the card, then reconsidering how this art might relate to that or open up new areas in that realm. Decks I had once dismissed are now becoming more thoughtfully valuable to my studies. Thanks again! It's now time for me to spend time with this deck once again in private study.(I don't have the oracle).

Watching this s in May 2024, having heard that this deck is to be discontinued, I wonder why, as it seems to be so popular. But thu this news has set me wondering whether to buy it before it goes out if print. I loved the video so thankyou!
I note another comment here very honestly expressing the view that s/he can’t see the innocent aspects that you describe and I tend to agree.I see darkness, despair and looming threat throughout.. with the ‘candy world’ just emphasising this more. Awesome artwork notwithstanding I’m not too sure about it for myself. I usually like a bit of darkness, don’t get me wrong.. but these images scream of needing help...and urgently. Maybe that’s the point? Thankyou again for your thoughtful ideas.

The 2 of Pentacles I associate the juggling of food & toys to mean trying to find that happy, healthy balance between food materials which we all need and also toy materials which we don’t need but enrich our lives with wonderful hobbies. This is an extension from 2 of Swords balancing on the tightrope thinking we need to pick a side when we don’t have to. The 2 of pentacles we no longer need to actually pick but we do have to figure out the best & most beneficial way for us to juggle these materials. I can go even deeper by going to the 2 of clubs in which theres a mirror between for instance myself thinking I have to pick a side (being a super successful boss career woman who works and doesn’t make time for play or spend way less time on work which lends itself to more free time maybe investing more into family, friends, relationships, self love. The 2 of cups hugging essentially our other self shows to me we can absolutely not limit ourselves to one or the other. Life’s about balancing and juggling, we have responsibilities that we must tend to but we also need things that feed our mind, body, spirit and soul. It doesn’t even have to be material possessions.
That’s how I read those, I’m a beginner and so I do not have the knowledge of what every card does stand for, this is just me intuitively connecting with these beautiful cards. Lol. Sorry for commenting a bit, last one for this video-maybeeee. 🥸

In the oracle deck when you mentioned the keywords, the second you said "toxicity" my mind went "the dose determines the poison". Which is just such a powerful message, because truly if things heal or harm is determined by the dose.
I loved the artwork and idea of these decks, but I always kind of just brushed them aside thinking they were going to be more just pretty curated art decks that aren't that great to use. Until I heard you talk about them. They're now on my to buy list. I know completely what you mean by they speak to some part of you that you can't describe.

Brilliant! I love the tarot, but I agree the Oracle has some really dark themes, so much so that I struggle to attach positive aspects of the card, I definitely has stolen your keywords, for that boundaries card.

There are so many tarot and oracle themes. Celtic, Modern, Dark, Earthy , Fantasy , Inner child ,etc. And Ceccoli decks have a whole theme by themselves. And like every theme you either love them or hate them at first, but seeing them more and more you get intrigued as you did. And as you did the more you look and research you understand how the art resonates. Just like another deck you really bond that connects with a different part of your soul. So you are surprised at the outcome. Just as you get a deck that looks just exactly you and then you get it and there is not connection. Your keywords for the oracle deck are wonderful. You need to make your own deck.!

I took off the borders and read it as an intuitive tarot for shadow and inner child work. I’ve modded 4 tarot decks getting to that. Still have an unopened deck. 🖤 I only took the borders off the Oracle. I found a copy of Beautiful Nightmares. I can’t get enough of this art. I had to look too hard to see the book meanings. I even made an entire journal trying to. This art is far too personal to me to ever try to read for someone else with it.

Why is this deck getting so expensive and hard to find right now?

Judging by your taste in decks it seems that perhaps you seek out the unicorns and sweetness to escape some darker aspects of your life. Ceccoli provides a seemingly sweet world that addresses harsher realities on some level. It makes sense that people connect with it as a way to gently gain self-awareness. I think it's a wonderful deck, probably the only 'sweet' deck I like, unlike those big-eyed girl decks with no underlying intensity which are like Snow White without the evil stepmother, which, duh, makes the story work. Thanks for some very wonderful insights.

I use my harsher decks so much more than I use my lighter/fluffier decks, actually! In fact, I go to Tarot for a much needed butt kicking more than for any other purpose LOL.

Beautiful deck, but those those who likes diversity not a good choice and lack of male characters
