    Love the way how you trimmed and edged your decks. You brought life to it. I’m impressed with how you rebacked your decks as well. I’m too scare to trim or edge my deck.

    Hi! I just discovered your channel. I just received the Ghetto Tarot and they're pretty big. Never thought I'd want to modify a deck, but I do with this one. Your vid is very welcome and I feel confident that I can proceed. I also have a couple of other decks on the way that may require modification. Anyway, thanks. I am now subscribed.

    That was really useful - thanks! I'm thinking that Faber-Castell Pitt brush pens might work well, as they're filled with indian ink which is waterproof once dry (and you can reverse the brush tip, using a pair of tweezers, when it wears out). They're a bit on the pricey side compared to Crayolas, but you can buy them individually from an art supply store and they come in a lot of colours

    Thanks so much for all your mod vids, they are all so great and helpful! Love them!! I have a question about ink transfer to your hands, I know you mentioned in a video the product you use if you are getting ink transfer from edging with a marker, I can't remember what it was, LOL. I'm getting some ink transfer on a couple of decks that I've edged in markers, what is the stuff you sometimes use to seal in the ink again?
    Thank you ❤

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am so glad you enjoy them! Generally I only find transfer with markers and I will often overlay some archival ink stamp over the top to help stop the transfer. If it's really bad, like a dark blue tends to be, I have used mod podge to seal the edges. It's a bit messy but it gives them a cool gilded effect in the end. I hope that helps!

      @@DawnMichelleTarot Thanks for getting back to me! I will try those if more time drying doesn't do the trick :)

    Thanks for the suggestions! Have you ever done the Modern Witch Tarot? I'm nervous to do it since it's soooo thick!

    • @DawnMichelleTarot

      I haven't as I don't own that deck. I've heard the cardstock is a bit ridiculous, but I imagine with a good trimmer it could be modded. Thank you for watching. ❤️

    Thank you! I usually use markers because (so far, knock on wood) I haven't had trouble with bleeding, while ink pads seem (in my hands) to require wiping with a paper towel, except for the distressed inks pads. You specify water-based markers. Have you found that alcohol-based markers don't work well? I have yet to back a deck, but I've done some trials, and I just couldn't find contac paper that isn't repositionable (which blows my mind, because I remember how *impossible* it was to take it off anything forty to fifty years ago). I've tried several vinyl products intended for use in vinyl sticker-cutters, and I think they will be my first choice.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't really used alcohol based markers much, but that's mostly because they give me a headache. I think other people have used them very successfully. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    For that kind of trimmer, I think as long as the cards are aligned to the edge of the bottom blade, it should be fine~

    Do you remember the number on the mildliner you used for your Llewellyn? 😊It looks so nice.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think they have numbers but I think it's the one they call gold. If you go to my deck mod tool videos there is probably a link for it in the description box. I think I also have links on my website. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    Have you tried spray paint for "backing"? Kelly from the Truth in Story mentioned it in one of her lives that she uses that and I'm intrigued since then.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heard her mention that one her decks (I want to say the Halloween Oracle) was covered with black spray paint on the back. I've never tried it, but judging by my work with spray clear coat, I'd probably make a huge mess of it lol. It's an interesting idea tho, probably way easier! 🙂

    I know I'm way late with my comment -- thank you for this video! I've always enjoyed watching your mod videos even though I haven't done any modding yet myself. :) I did have a question (that isn't about modding, funny how that goes): could you tell me what the deck at 23:09 is? The one that seems to have black and white illustrations. Very intrigued by it. Thank you!

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is the one in the middle that I edged in gold? If so, that one is the Illuminated Earth oracle. Let me know if that was the one! So glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    • @SunTurtle
      @SunTurtle 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DawnMichelleTarot Yes! That's the one. Thank you! I looked it up and it's mega colorful! I must have confused you so much when I said it had black and white illustrations, haha. It's just that the particular card that was at the bottom (which I could only see a bit when you turned the deck) seemed to be black and white. I'm looking at pics of the deck and wow, that deck is stunning. The colors and textures!

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I figured that's what you meant because when I looked at the video, I saw the one kind of muted card was flipped up. It is a stunning deck, beautiful artwork and we'll balanced. I do recommend it! 🙂

    You keep referring to ink pads as ‘Stamps’ but stamps are actually the items you use ink pads on to make an impression with the stamps on paper or other items.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is very true! They are technically ink pads, but we used to call them stamp ink pads and I guess the stamp part stuck for me. Old habits and all. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
