    I have been reading tarot since I was 12. I DOVE into scrapbooking when my daughter was born 20 years ago.... Why have I NEVER thought about this deep dive stuff... Why have I been doing with my life??🤔🤔. I just binged your tarot junk journal videos. (Im questioning ALL of my life choices right now🙄) I am SO STOKED to get started on this. THANK YOU for sharing you genius with us. 😂🥰🥰🥰

      @@DawnMichelleTarot You should monetize these scans! Would save time for the rest of us haha. Not sure how that would work with copyrighted images...

      Hehe that would be cool, but that would definitely violate the artist's copyright. Maybe some day deck creators will start offering thumbnails of their decks for journalers like us! 🙂

    So many fabulous ideas! Thanks for challenging your viewers to think outside the box. I’ve been stuck in getting bored with starting at the fool and getting bored by the time I get to the empress. I would also like to say I appreciate how intellectually stimulating your content is. I can see the effort on your part to present your material in a way that feels professional and eloquent. So thank you for sharing your ideas and offering such detailed inspiration for fellow tarot lovers! Much love.

      You are so very welcome I am so glad that you enjoy my content, it is a labor of love to be sure. I too get bored with deck study if I have to stay in order with it. It's so much more fun to jump around and play with the cards. Eventually all the studying gets done along the way too. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

      Allison McCue what are RWS and non RWS decks?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      RWS stands for Rider Waite Smith. 🙂

    • @averylfong4843
      @averylfong4843 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I find using Numerology is the easiest way to understand non-RWS/illustrated decks, especially pip decks.
      Tying the numbers with the Major Arcana, for example 1 relating to The Magician and also all the Aces - meaning beginnings, the start of creation, the first kernel of thought, the seed/the root, etc. And then 'crossing' that idea with the suits, so for example Ace of Cups symbolising new emotions flowing out, new relationships, burgeoning feelings, creativity, etc.
      You can definitely find tools online to help you with understanding how the Majors interact with Numerology.
      Using Elements and Astrology could help you too - just sort of having a backing 'theory' or way of understanding that exists beyond simply the illustrations.
      You can use this to create a structure for studying, by relating Majors and Minors together, and those cards and suits to pre-existing theory. You can easily create a study system that works for you, and add your own intuitive readings to it.

      In general I spend one-three month with a deck when I do this full method, just usually depends on how different the deck is from traditional systems. Hello! For scanning the process may differ a bit from scanner to scanner. But resizing images is simple and there are many ways, you don't need to buy software though.
      If you have a Macbook, on the display window when double clicking the image, you have an option to resize it (you can choose which metric system to use aswell, changing it to inches or centimeters will help to know the actual size when you print it).
      On Windows you can also edit images from the photo gallery (opened when you double click)
      I won't go into detail but wanted you to know that it is a simple process. Google "how to resize images on mac/pc" for a step by step tutorial that I bet are out there!

    Wow! You've given me inspiration to do this with my 2 favorite decks. I have so many that there'd be no way to do them, but for the ones that I use the most this is really nice. Even with limited time you could just pull some of the majors etc. You wouldn't have to do the whole deck, just what you have time for. Thanks for the tips.

    A few months ago I was also starting my own tarot journal and was scanning the cards so I can cut and past them on my book. I stopped because I got into a car accident but I plan to get back into it soon! I love the whole journal idea and I plan to purchase from you very soon! Thank you for giving me more ideas as I recover! Also, I didn’t think of making a journal for my oracle cards! That’s also a good idea because each card holds so much information that it’s hard to memorize them so I tend to just go with the flow but new stuff information does appear so I should definitely consider doing a journal just for oracle cards! Spiral Tarot is my go-to deck. I have never seen anyone else use it before. I would love to see or hear your impressions about it. And speaking of that deck do you have a copy you could share of your scans, or do you have a video on how you scanned them and got them on one+ sheet? I would love to make the little cards for journalling but I really just do not know how.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I talked about it some in my three part series on Tarot journaling, but for something like this, I generally scan the deck in and then resize the images in Photoshop and they just layer them onto a page and print. Depending on the size I rescale too, I can generally get an entire deck on a half a dozen sheets or so. I hope that helps!

      I actually use the Walmart brand dot grid journals most of the time now called Exceed. They do have much thicker pages than the Leuchturrm (they don't feel as nice of course) and they hold up much better to all the gluing and layering I tend to do in my journals. They also don't seem to bleed as bad and, bonus, they are only about $10 so I can two for the price of one of the more expensive brands. Hope that helps and thank you so much for watching!

      I have used crayola markers many times on my decks. Sometimes they do have a tendency to come off you hands (but even permanent marker can do that!) It seems to vary depending on the cardstock. I have found that eventually it stops transferring, but if it bothers you, you can also go over with a permanent medium (I like to use stamp for that that.) Hope that helps and good luck!
