So far, it’s just a rumor, but it seems like it has some serious merit to it.
There is a large asterisk with that tho, they will almost definitely be competing in Rally2, not the top tier rally1 division.
That being said, if the rumors are true, it would be TREMENDOUS news and I really hope it’s true.

The Ypsilon and the 2008 Delta are good cars, but they just miss that little bit extra flamboyancy the old Lancia’s used to have. The PuRa definitely looks promising, but I just hope the three new models in 2024, 2026 and 2028 will be good.

its in contention as one of the ugliest new cars on sale today, and has been ever since it first debuted, Lancias have always been out there in terms of design but whatever tf the Ypsilon is, just is not it chief

The worst thing that happened to Alfa Romeo was the Ferrari purchase of hopeless, delinquent brand Maserati. They should have let it die and pushed Alfa as the premium brand to compete with overrated, poorly engineered and unreliable brands like (particularly) BMW, Audi and Mercedes. Maserati was a dead basket-case in the late 90s, Alfa was still quite strong. FIAT backed the wrong horse and we still suffer with the utterly irrelevant Maserati brand…too many brands, too small a market for them. Alfa, a great brand which was the Ferrari before Ferrari, suffers…
