    Thanks for documenting this journey, it gives other DL501 owners with gearbox faults and clunking, jerking, hesitation accelerating from stop (such as I) alot more clarity as to what goes into the remedy process.
    I have two questions if you don’t mind answering them.
    1) how does the car drive now? Does the new transmission act as it should? Feels normal in all driving conditions, problem solved with the new transmission and programming?
    2) do you have an idea why trying to fix the previous transmission wasn’t successful? Maybe mechatronics or clutch packs? Or same issue appearing after shift range selector swap.
    Thanks for documenting a rarely documented doings of what needs doings

      1.the car drives like a dream feels way better than the nsc transmission more smooth . And yes all problems solved no issues.
      2. I have no idea, I’m leaning more to the clutches but even before the sensor went out the reverse gear would sometimes make a metal noise . When I put the new sensor the error code never came back and it was working fine until I did a hard pull the transmission gave out so I just decided to get a used one since I found metal shavings.
      If I had to do everything from the beginning I would just buy a used pww transmission from the beginning.

      Thanks for the response! That’s great to hear. I’m going to replace my mechatronics circuit boards as well as the clutch solenoids in VW/Audi repair kit 0B5398048D probably in the next month or so. Hopefully that fixes it, but if not I’ll probably follow exactly what you did. Thanks again.

      ​@@taylorhoward6998I've already replaced 4 solenoids + the two circuit boards + internal filter + new manufacturer oil, this due to jerky start in 1st and reverse. Otherwise the tranis works smooth, it's only that anoying jerky/humpy start when I start rolling from a stand still. It's like the clutch engage way to fast then release again, engage again, hump, release, then it taks off. Of course I did a factory reset of all parameters with VCDS. Don't think it is the clutch packs since I don't experience any clutch slip at all. The only parameter VCDS is not able to reset is the "counter for start and stop processes", don't know if that is the issue. Any sugestions are highly appreciated!

    I have 2013 s5 and had the same problem as you and needed to replace the transmission as well. I nearly towed my car 5 hours to get it coded until I found this video. Should have my car back in the next week

      Nice mate, coded my car this way because my nearest audi dealership said i needed to put only code NSC transmission in it and that by putting a PWW it wouldnt work and that they wouldnt try. Hopefully everything goes well and you get you car back soon.

    Thanks for this video, very helpful. What happens if my car doesn’t use keyless start? How does it program the keys… do they still just need to be nearby?

      i beleive you would have to put the key in the ignition

    Hey!! Just paid for my pww and JUST saw your description….. has it been confirmed??? Haven’t talked to the dealership yet but I have a STRONG feeling they won’t want to recode it.. I was relying on this… plz give me some good news

      @@davidguerra3417 I honestly think the user missed a step on the process and wasn’t able to recode it. Talk to the dealer first and see if they can do it if not you might be the chosen one to update us if it’s still working if you buy the product . But worst case scenario you get a TCM cloning service to get it going .

    hey brother i just blew my 2013 s4 NSC yesterday and found a PWW out of a 14. my question is do i need to swap out any ecu or TCU or TCM before doing this process or i can just put the trans in and do this process?

      hi, yeah just intall the pww transmission with its mechatronics since its a better version and follow the video for programming or Ask your nearest audi delearship if they can program it, the should charge from 100-150. If they can't program it like they told me eventhough they should then buy the hardware. if you got any questions feel free to ask me youre not alone

    Hello, did you put the mech unit from the old transmission into the new one? Or did you use the new mech unit?

      @@lukeschoenwetter8284 I used the new one that’s why I had to programmed it . I didn’t want to risk it by putting the old one and damaging my transmission

    Hello. Just tried to get the TCM on my 2010 S4 DL501 programmed by Audi. They said it could not be done. They tried and failed. Did not charge me. I have the same TCM part # as the original one. I ripped the ribbon cable and needed a new TCM.
    Do you think this will work? Really feel like there is no hope.

      @@7SeasEvents your the second person who says that Audi has disabled using used TCM for programming . In this case I would suggest sending off your original TCM and the new TCM for cloning . Such as this

    I own an a4 in Cuba (parts are extreemly Hard to get here and no one knows anything about coding and reprogramming ecu ot tcu, the car has a 2014 1.8l tsfi engine and a 2012 transmission, the car drives but there's a transmission fault and it's always in safe mode (car drives but slow acceleration)
    I brought a 2014 tcm but know one knows how to code it to the car, will this work on coding the 2012 transmission to the 2014 ecu to get it out of limp/safe mode?

      @@arkeyfix786 I just orderd a generic obd2 scanner, ill lyk next week when I get it, the problem is the only way to have an audi in Cuba (not paying 5x the car's value in taxes( is to buy a shell and build it, the body is from 2011 with a 2016 rs4 bodykit/facelift, the engine is a 2014 1.8 tsfi cjeb, and the transmission is a 2012 ndu.

    I’ve got code P179E and P179F selector level sensor. If i replaced this sensor, is any coding or adaption required?

      If you just replaced the sensor it would be recommended to do adaptación through vcds but you can probably get away with it if you clear the code on the transmission but it is highly recommended to do adaptations after any work

    I have a 2011 audi s4 that I swapped a used TCM into. The dealership said they could not unlock the TCM because it is used. Will this be able to unlock the TCM so i can reprogram it to the vehicle?

      @@itslue7990 I’m not sure what unlock exactly means , but with this you will be able to program it and make it work on your car.

      I think because the TCM came from another car, it's tied to another Vin. I assumed you would have had to do the same thing too since you said you replaced your transmission with one from a different car.

      Was the TCM you used brand new? Or was it used from the new transmission?

      @@itslue7990 yes I did . It came from another vehicle and if you program it the old vin will be erased and the new one will be imputed. The ECM will read the TCM and if the vin matches in both the safety will go away and it will work :)

      @@FarhanKhan-zx5pw I don’t understand well but the ECU and TCM have to be programmed to your car , if they are not programmed they won’t work correctly . You should make a video of the problem.

    Buy VCDS with 3, 10 or unlimited VINs and your get all of that way easier and more profound

      VCDS wont work it can’t do what ODIS does , you won’t be able to programmed the tcu with VCDS

      VCDS does not remove Component Protection, only ODIS can. VCDS can be used to do the adpatations

    Hey, i got s4 2013 witch NSC my transmission just blew up I just bought the new one with other code MKX the gearbox is also from 2013 but the codes are different and the engine codes are different it’s possible to do something witch this one ? 🥲
