Great review. It's 10:30pm on a Saturday night. Our Walmart runs 24/7, but that place is out of control at this time : ) ) I'll check one out tomorrow.
Great footage man! This was so easy to dial in with a red dot, I am tempted to swap the zoom crossbow scope with lighted reticle from the Xshot Longshot Pro to this now that have all three weights of Lazer worker gen3s. Keep up the great vids man.
i do have to say after testing about 7 of my friend's nexus pro x's, the air seal is wildly inconsistent, ranging from flawlessly perfect (about 50% of them) to not great but still better than what you experienced.
Picked one of these up recently and Im excited to use it at an upcoming game. Also picked up some worker heavy darts after watching your videos on them. Very excited to see what 50$ gets you these days. Since we dont have much in terms of barricades at our local games and mostly use trees for cover Im not too worried about the height over bore issue but I can see how it might be an issue on some playing fields.
I'd like to mention in regards to the plunger tube/pusher mechanism size/configuration: One thing that has to be considered with the Adventure Force products, is that package/shelf size is a huge deal and I believe is actually dictated BY Walmart. So, to get a blaster with this performance, plus B/PCAR, 2 magazines, eye pro, darts, and adjustable stock off the shelf from Walmart is INCREDIBLE. Getting 200 FPS with pinpoint accuracy, smooth prime, relatively high quality plastic, and a nearly perfect seal out of the box from Walmart. . . for $50 USD. . . is pretty mind blowing. I think the efficiency gains of the design greatly outweigh height over bore to me. I'm hoping DZ is going to come out with a Pro blaster using a similar setup--possibly with a full round and longer plunger tube.
I'm sure left a few comments on this video of yours, but incase I haven't thanked you for being Curious Enough to Actually Open the Forking Blaster, While Doing a Simple Barrel and Spring Mod to a Brand New That A Lot of us Out Here Haven't Seen Inside of Yet. I Watched no less than 13 other copycat videos, everyone trying to keep their content down to 20minutes. This is still the most informative video on this blaster in English or Australian(😂). From your video, we were able to see that while everything has indeed changed Inside this beloved platform, but there is still a good deal of unused real-estate inside this blaster. I look forward to future experimentation.
Great review. I pretty much agree with all your opinions on it. The OG Nexus Pro was the first high powered blaster I ever owned. I was super excited to get the Pro X, but the offset barrel is a deal-breaker for me. However, one of my teammates brought this to Maryland Foam Tournament, stuck a trion sized spacer in it, bumping it up to 230 FPS, and got quit a few tags with it. So it is definitely a great starter blaster.
Playing outside in a grass field with paintball inflatable barriers, the lower barrel isn’t an issue. I put down my worker Harrier for this blaster. T.A.N.G uses Ruby darts and I found the Harrier was very picky about dart condition. The Nexsus X doesn’t care. Most importantly this blaster has the retro funk of the 90’s. Lastly it cost me 90 maple leafs.😎
Thanks for another great video Brad! Just a thought, if a 200 fps blaster can get such great groupings at 30m, is there much point going to 300fps? Considering most engagement is within 30m.
the airleak with the barrel at the dartgate seems to be the exact same issue the gameface trion has. it can be fixed by adding an o-ring, which most likely requires to make a new dartgate with an o-ring groove. or machining the barrel.
Hopefully you can get ahold of the DZ spring and spring spacer pack as well as the OOD printed quick swap barrel collet. With the upgraded spring, spacers and a longer barrel you can likely get it past 275fps. Better yet, add in a bigger plunger tube. Theres so much real estate for a bigger one but I’m guessing dart zone couldn’t do it for legal reasons
I had the same issue with the Worker Magpul stock on both my Nexus Pro and my Nexus Pro X, in both cases I was able to prevent it from collapsing itself by adding 3 layers of cloth tape (I'm sure you could use lots of other kinds of tape instead, it's just what I had handy) to the TOP 1/3rd of the "buffer tube", this eliminates the vertical play in the stock, which is how it can "jump" over the stop notches. I agree it's very odd DZ didn't address this issue themselves. I'm just thankful the fix is so easy. EDIT: 1st explanation made no sense, so I simplified.
I’m actually a very big fan of this blaster. I actually used it for every day of Maryland Mayhem, including the tournament. My only gripes are the stock Foregrip and height over bore, which isn’t a deal breaker for me
Genuinely impressed with the Nexus Pro X. For that price, I think it’s well worth it. Kinda miss the “hit” during the range test. My vote is to bring it back!
I got mine for $15 at an overstock store. It came with all accessories, but it was missing a spring for the catch, and the plastic piece that hits the catch to fire. I bough a brand new one and swapped it with the one with missing parts before returning it. So all in all, brand new NPX for $15 US.
I combined the toy scope with it's cross hairs inside with a 1x green/red dot scope. With the cross hairs, it helps with accuracy and gauge how much rise I need on the dot at distances.
FYI all, the easiest and cheapest way to fix the stock issue I've found is to just get 3mm craft foam, cut like 2 strips about 3-4" in length, about .5-1" wide then put super glue on the side you'll stick to the inside of the stock wall then attach the stock to the buffer tube and let the glue dry. Mine now has zero wiggle and can still be adjusted when needed. Much much much better.
I threw a ~10 in kury barrel into mine and the dart zone upgrade spring. Very consistent 245-250 which is my groups max, reasonable prime. the height over bore doesn't matter ton me because we play with trees and little other cover. Perfect for a loaner when someone new comes in and doesn't have a good blaster.
For casual Nerfing, the barrel position definitely isn't a big deal, especially if the field is mostly trees, so you're not really poking over cover. For something like competitive, it could be an issue given a lot of cover has you popping over. Regardless, the value for the 200fps range is pretty unbeatable heck I'm about to run this in a game I'm hosting tomorrow while I already own a Seagull, Harrier, SBL, Unicorn, etc.
Mine also has an air leak. But the performance has been just as consistent as my swift with a perfect air seal. Even with spacers and a longer barrel. It seems to not be too much of an issue. They definitely improved it over the original nexus which had absolutely no air seal.
The low barrel is a deal breaker for me. Plus, the XSLS is an overall supperior design, in my opinion. The flex doesn't bother me at all. Mine hits 250 fps, and it only cost me $75 to get it there. However, I'm very much looking forward to see how you mod your NPX, and how much it cost to do so.
I do think the height over bore is not the best looking but it wasn’t hard to adjust to. It’s more like a scar platform that requires more barrel awareness. Not a bad thing to learn though.
The height over bore is a dealbreaker for me, I can’t stand the way it looks or the fact that my barrel is so much lower than my line of sight. I might have to try those heavy darts but I’ll only get the bamboo ones.
Here at Spain we can get it for 70€, wich is also acceptable. Probably I will skip both blasters because I already have a Harrier and other "pros", but I got the Bcar+Pcar and I'll buy some of their new mags
Real question is after it become more available from international sellers (like blaster-time in eu) is it worth to get the seagull for double the price (70 euro for pro x vs 140euro for seagull) not to mention the added bcar +1 mag + glasses and cheaper upgrade spring combo. Seems to me pretty similar performance and accuracy of seagull.
The Pcar is not great. I tested it on a old nexus and the difference with a simple worker pcar is very noticeable. The bcar on the other hand is great. It's too bad dart zone sell them togheter, so you get one with every bcar you want. The rest of the blaster is like the old nexus, overrated, unless you live in the US.

These opening montages just keep getting better and better.
Fun fact: The BCAR has a small orange ring at the bottom. It's a friction fit sleeve and removing it allows it to work with standard 16mm barrels.
3:38 oh hey, das me. Thanks for mentioning that.
I think the biggest advantage of Worker darts over Dart Zone darts is durability. Workers are just much firmer and last longer. Great video!
As long as they are gen 3
Always happy to see your take on a new high performance blaster, ESPECIALLY when it's a rare occasion that you end up with a Dart Zone product

Must be done to variations in quality. Thanks for the info that mine isn't an isolated incident.
use Teflon tape on the barrel that inserts into the blaster. That helps improve on the seal. No leaks, no issues.

I don't plan to use a collet due to the air leak I have, rather I'll be gluing my barrel in.
The plunger tube moves back and forth, filling that extra space, every time you prime. So I don’t think a larger plunger tube is possible.

With the accuracy of modern Nerf blasters, they almost always "hit". It really is redundant.
