This blaster not being talon compatible is a huge miss and I don't see it being very popular for that reason alone. It's a real shame, could have been a solid option.
@@FYEAHHH it means it uses standard Worker Talon style magazines to feed the darts. The mags for this blaster are custom made by the manufacturer and you can't get them from another company, or use magazines you already have.

Both seem attainable. A weaker spring should** decrease fps AND increase rate of fire. Talons require taking a file to the mag well. But it would be nice to have proper mag compatibility. Honestly, if it worked with talons right out of the box I'd buy one, too.
I'm waiting to see if the Talon mag compatibility mod for the BK1/2S will be more mainstream. Then after that, what other mods that can supprt the platform.

Dear Luke, While we appreciate the barrel safety slip cover, the Number One piece of feedback I keep hearing on all the Discords is that people are expecting a more "custom" option from OoD (and many people are making their own)
Metal gearbox, airsoft gear and motor upgrades plus cosmetics. Yeah it’s not meant to look like a childish blaster, it’s supposed to look like it is. An SBR platform for the players that enjoy its silhouette. (Edit) the gearbox itself is not metal, but the “drivetrain” and bearings are. Which is a huge plus. The gearbox not being metal may pose as an issue, but it’s bolted in, so that’s doubtful. But we shall see as we mod!
when i can land a job, i would honestly love one of those but with a longer barrel and painted a stone greyish blue like the AAC Honey Badger. would that be possible at all?
I've got a job but all my money goes to rent :( literally gonna have like 90 bucks to my name by the end of the month. love that idea though and would also be interested in making it a little more mil-simmy, but I doubt that's the direction Luke will wanna go. If anything I expect to see more toy-like AEBs to start cropping up at a lower FPS to appeal to a wider audience.
@@Snuffflux i kind of figured that to be honest, but it was still something to ask. i would still like the longer barrel, but if not, i can always just make one and paint this. its no biggy,
Just like talons, you could probably mod it to take Dart Zone or other katana clones. However, this blaster is only compatible with Zius' own short dart mags out of the box.
These are for older kids and adults. Retailers who carry these kinds of blasters usually mark them as ages 14+. Anything above 130 fps at point blank will be unpleasant enough that you don't want it in the hands of someone who doesn't fully understand firearm safety.
Great video, I was wondering how was it firing? Non bamboo darts because I know the sweetheart storm really didn't like darts that were not bamboo style.
i want more than anything is the gearbox, JUST the gearbox. i want to make my OWN 9un around that GB. i LOVE airsoft and have made a number of custom airsoft 9uns and would LOVE to do the same with nerf!
I think it's a good idea to have both in the store yes. I really want to design my own front muzzle for it that isn't so... milsimmy. It's an absolutely perfect budget option becuase all the others are super expensive. I there a potential in the future for upgrade or spare parts for it to be stocked (gears, barrels, springs etc)?

I find it rather annoying that the magazines are proprietary. Especially since they don't even do something like last round hold open. That would be a very nice feature. Also, it's really a shame that @outofdarts did not mention how you shut off the blaster. To me, it's an annoying and needlessly convoluted process. I think that needed to be in this review.
Yeah, it sucks that its not talon compatible, but lets all consider the positives. Its inexpensive at $150-160, testing has proven it to be reliable AND likely modable with highly accessible airsoft gears, gets good performance, is closed bolt and select fire, and the magazines themselves are easily moddable to 15 rounds, are accessible, and available at a reasonable price. The BK1S in particular seems to me just be a significantly better AEB in almost every way except magazine compatibility than the CW76 at basically the same price point. You can get a BK1S for less than i paid for my Lynx, and the BK1S will shoot the same FPS and can achieve the same accuracy but with select fire. The money you saved not buying a super expensive springer can just go into buying the magazines. And someone is going to figure out a mod to get mechanical retention on talons, and then problem solved entirely.
Yup, those are usually reserved for airsoft since the projectiles are lighter and there’s much less of a demand on the internals. They’re also more expensive than flywheelers and the only improvement is accuracy, which commercial blaster manufacturers that market towards children don’t really care about.
Many games would hard cap out this gem. How simple is it to get to the spring? A 120, 150, 180+ - 200 fps spring would be needed for it to have a home at most games for many of us.

all these pro nerfers really freak out when they see like 1square cm of black on a blaster. I wish there were more real bolt-action springers. but aeb's are the best
You might be able to meet the MO for a new colourway by asking the singapore and aussie retaliers to share orders. Singapore/Aus also arent big fans of the black handguard/stock. The handguard and buttstock for BK1S are airsoft/ gel blaster compatible. You can ready just swap out with a metal URGI 10 inch sand color handguard. Making it less intimidating with the sand color and yellow receiver. Buttstock too, swap with a marine sand color buttstock.
