Thanks. I installed a different stereo last week and couldn't figure out why the radio stations weren't picking up but it's because of the antenna amp problem. Next task is to splice in the blue antenna wire to my main harness so thanks for that tip hopefully will be able to get more radio stations now.
KY Home Garage KY Home Garage I have the EX model and it has a stock subwoofer. Any ideas how to get it to work with my aftermarket without having to use an external amp?
One question I have had for years, because I see lots of folks have issues installing radios Does that vehicle have a CAN BUSS ? When would you have issues with the aftermarket radio being seen on the buss ? I assume not just any radio will work in some vehicles, regardless of wiring arrangements
pc zapp This radio is very basic it's not in network with any modules. It just radio and CD player. Doesn't even have any controls on steering wheel. But you are right if you have the radio that is connected to a network you would have a definitely U codes and some other issues for sure.
I don't think this vehicle had the factory sub. I didn't see any extra connections for it in the harness. I can tell you that the factory sub is 2 Ohms.
Alan Belcher so happen to just be watching this video, yeah you can. Would probably just have to change the mounting piece to the same one in the Ex, EXL.
This video helped me a ton...thanks!

No you don’t need antenna harness if you are not gonna use radio

So the after market antenna adapter plugs in to the red wire ? Not the amp wire from stereo ?
Would this radio work with an amplifier and how would you install it

Very detailed, thanks!
Charleny Rosas thank you I hope this video could help you with your project
Did the antenna adapter come with the stereo? Or was it bought separately?
Daniel Wolfe Thank you my friend. I hope this was helpful. Cheers
I'm not sure if you answered his question regarding the antenna adapter.
Can you use the remote wire for the antenna?
Yes as it's the power wire for an amplifier anyway
Can you remove the storage box under the radio and put in a double din unit?
