So it was finally cool enough out this evening to try. I almost have up a few times cos I was unsure, but you are the man. Works like a charm. One thing tho…is there a special 3mm and lightning dual adapter on the phone end? That way I can charge the phone and play music off the phone at the same time?
Your instructions did work perfectly on my 2006 Pilot, BUT I have a RES DVD player and I have run into an issue. I bought the Y splitter you suggested, and it fits into the XM port on the radio. However, if I connect both plugs up, the XM radio commercial constantly plays in the background of the music from my phone. If I leave the XM lead from the car unplugged, the radio no longer recognizes the XM button on the radio. Any thoughts? Is there a way to cut a couple of wires from the XM plug to stop audio signal to pin plug?
Any resolution on your problem? I'm about to purchase everything (y harness cable, adapter and tools) for my 08 Honda pilot, but I too have a factory dvd player and do not want to run into the same problem. Any updates would be great.
@@TOOHYPE1987 I tried a bunch of different things to no success. - if I left the original lead to XM unplugged, the radio wouldn't recognize the DVD/AUX button. I finally gave up and just plugged a cable into AUX behind the console . Not pretty but gets job done.
I'm having the same problem, I bought a y splitter and it recognizes audio is playing on my phone but all I get is white noise. The XM radio plays in the background while music and playing. I wonder if there is a way to block that frequency...
@@johndemartini2868 Can you please tell me how did you get this to work ? I did not understand your statement of "plugged a cable into AUX behind the console".
2004 Pilot ex-l has the cord, hooked up my iPhone to it and nothing. I press cd/chg button and nothing happens it continues to play radio. And idea how to get to work?
Thanks man followed your instructions and it worked out perfectly on my 08 Pilot EXL. I made one slight modification though - I ran my aux cord down through the small light socket port in the storage compartment below the stereo. That’s where my phone will be hanging when not in use, so it’s an ideal location for me anyway. Made a quick video to show what it looks like: th-cam.com/video/9e5CsmZiFfo/w-d-xo.html Thanks again for sharing your install.
i’m having a problem where my car isn’t detecting the system. i have a 2006 pilot ex, with the 6 disc compact and bottom dvd. when i plugged in the new harness in place of where the xm, it worked right on the spot, and the audio quality was amazing. when connected to the system, the little display strip would say “cd4”. After i turned the car off and locked it, and came back to it a couple of minutes later, the car would not pick up the “cd4”. The weird thing is that the charger works fine from the unit. but i cannot get it to connect and have the aux to work.
I followed all of the instructions above. Aux does not work, I hard static when things are plugged in, but no sound comes through the speakers and stays playing on my phone.
Same here on my 2008 EX-L. Can’t get it to work at all. Just static on car radio and music plays on phone. UPDATE: I got it to work. This how. Initially it did not work with my iPhone 8 and lightning cable adapter. I first connected to an older device with an old aux jack. It connected, then I tried my 8 again. And it worked!
@musicdrive2608 lmao no, they never made a turbo Pilot. The noise they are hearing is basically just alternator noise. They make noise filters that you can install between the alternator and battery.

Isn’t there a way to allow the lighting cable to charge the phone as well as let the phone’s audio pass through? That’s what I’m looking for.
Great video and I found it really helpful
Freaking. Perfect. THANK YOU!
LIFE SAVER!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Is there any way you could show us how to change the radio

Mine has a very high pitched whine in the front speakers. And my Aux port stopped working. Any help?
awesome video 10/10 👍
Thanks!
Also, when using this, I can’t change tracks using the seek/skip button….is there a way to do that, or do I have to manually do it on the phone?
Hey I have a 2007 Honda Pilot, if I purchase the aux only cable from amazon for 23.94 do you think the cable quality and or install will differ?
Thanx I think ide rather get a newer face with navi and aux port seeing now how to get to it

If u go to Walmart u can buy a radio transmitter to connect to your phone threw blue tooth way easier
tried it everyone i but doesn’t work
The radio transmitters are the absolute worst solution to audio.
Can you tell me if the same company makes this for Android phone.

There’s a hole under the climate control in the middle console. Just on mine it’s a plastic piece I just pulled out.
just installed this in my car today- did the exact same thing. i pulled out the small light under the console and fished it through there
I ran mine lathe way down into the lower cubby. There are spaces to route through the ash tray.
Would this work with a 2005 Honda Pilot Ex-L?
Yes, it should.

hey still having this issue if not and its fixed how exactly did you fix it?
@voke3879
I have a 2004 pilot with no aux button will it still work
For real !!!! I prefer a new radio
I followed all of the instructions above. Aux does not work, I hard static when things are plugged in, but no sound comes through the speakers and stays playing on my phone.

It says the harness is unavailable, do you know of a alternative option?
Will this cable work if my stereo doesn't have an Aux button?
Hi I have 06 Honda Pilot with navigation system where do I buy the cord from?
I have one of those and it sounds kinda eh. Volume is always too low and when no audio is playing, you hear a rev-matching, high-pitched whine!
Turbo
@musicdrive2608 lmao no, they never made a turbo Pilot. The noise they are hearing is basically just alternator noise. They make noise filters that you can install between the alternator and battery.
Will the CD changer still work after this installation?
Yes. 👍
For some reason I have no sound.

I’m confused because doesn’t it have the aux button right there ..
Thank
I cant find the ling for the jack
Did it work? I did not see the testing of the sound
Sorry! I should’ve shown that it worked.
It does not work for the 03 Honda Pilot and it is different
Do you know if this works in a 2003 Honda Pilot?
That's what I'm trying to find out also
Yes, I have a pilot 2003 that has the same setup. Previous owner installed it. CD/CHG button next to the Tape button is my Aux button.
Ugly installed
I kind of agree.
