Im a 34 year old female and I just bought this kit and installed it myself. Wow! Didn't take me that long and the video was super helpful! Thank you! I almost gave up hope in finding a way to play my music from my phone. Took me about 20 minutes. Great video!!
Video was great. Two additional hints: lower the steering well all the way to get the first panel out. And also you can feed the cable down to the center storage area through the little light hole.
I followed every step in this video & my iPhone works perfectly with my 2006 Honda Pilot. Took me about an hour, like you said. Thank you!!! I love it!!! :-)
Had to come back to you guys for splitter since my Pilot has DVD, but once I received it and bought a short screwdriver, installation was a breeze! Worked just like shown in the video. Kicking myself for taking so long to do this project! Took all of 15 minutes thanks to your awesome instructions - thank you!
Thanks! I follow all of your intructions and it worked wonderfully, the sad part is that it already have the cable running all what it has to be done was to connect the module, it was from the factory but we never were told from the dealer. but now we have an iPod live connection. Thanks again, you've saved $80-160, that what they were charging me to do it.
thanks for the video, I think i am getting an 04 Pilot and this was one of the first things i was thinking of doing, I saw one of these at Pep Boys today
I used this to get to the anc unit as I could not find any tutorials on how to. Thank you! I'm going to refer to your tutorial when I make my how to video since you did a nice job showing how to take the dash apart.
Ordered one of these for our 2003 Pilot with a CD changer and Rear Entertainment System (RES). Will see if my install goes a smoothly as this one next week when it arrives.
Once you remove the radio, your port will be occupied (because of xm radio). You will just have to remove that connection (disable the XM) and plug in our kit instead. And everything will work the exact same way as in the video.
@@nathanharris3946 The DVD system uses connector D on the head unit (the long 40 pin rectangular one above the one used here). XM uses connector C, a 14 pin connector.
I managed to fit my cable through the AC vent below the radio (warning you may have to bend the horizontal vent piece so be careful, mine had enough give to squeeze cable head through). Doesn't look bad at all and way more convenient then having it in the glove box. Make sure your cable is long enough as well.
04 Honda Pilot, you don't need to do the first 2 minutes of the video. TIP for an 04 HONDA PILOT: to get access to this you just need to remove the big black border around the head unit, the whole border with the VTM button and hazards, the ac vents are not part of this unit you will remove, use a trim piece tool to get it off and then you can unscrew the media/head unit you have installed.
First time taking the radio out, and I slightly FREAKED when I saw the white port was occupied. Well, I replaced what was occupying it with the wire for this kit. When I tested the result, I found that I replaced XM Radio functionality with AUX functionality!
Hi. Great installation video! We just bought a 2006 Honda Pilot. It has the rear entertainment system and the XM option. I'm wondering if we get this kit, will we be able to use our iPhone up front and have the aux connection in the back still work for the rear entertainment system?
Question: I have a 2006 Honda Pilot without Nav. It has a basic radio and has a DVD player in the back. Would not installing a Y cable in addition to the Aux cord affect which speakers the music plays out of from my iPhone!
Could you make a video on how to remove all the panels around the climate control unit and replace the light bulbs on it? I tried to replace the light bulbs on the unit but the panel with the cigarette lighter proved too difficult to be removed. Took the side panels out and removed all the screws around it including the three under the cigarette lighter panel but still couldn't get the panel out.
I heard that it makes whinning sound thats when you accelarate the car. Read some reviews and they say it is because you can not amplify the sound. Is that true because i wanted to order this product but now i want to wait till anyone answer this.
is there anyway to fish the cable down to where that storage space is under the heating controls, as that would be so much more convenient. please respond asap as i want to get a kit but want to be able to fish it down, if you could do a video that would be awesome as well look forward to hearing from you.
Hello, nice video just had a question about the AUX button, what if when this button is pressed before installing this kit nothing happens? Does this mean this kit won't work as something hasn't been activated in the radio? I just want to check before purchasing the kit. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, this video is very helpful. I wasn't able to remove the third bezel piece with my fingers or a small scraper. Can you tell me where I can order that clip removal tool (red plastic tool used around 2:20)?
This didn't work for my ex-L model with navi. 05 it has two blue inputs for wiring harness and two gray? No white input slot like this radio. What do I need? It's a different shape then your video shows.
This is not the same dashboard as a 2005 pilot. The 2nd piece was connected to the ac vents and ran the whole length of the front. Luckily there is a video of someone removing a '05 pilot stereo which was easier than this method. You just pop off the black ring around the stereo with a butter knife. The gta aux unit works, however there is static interference when my phone is plugged in to charge. Worth 85 bucks? I dunno about that.
I have an interesting question.. My 2006 honda pilot has XM radio which means that the antenna must be plugged into the port I need in the back. I know a y cable is necessary to use XM and car kit.. My question is.. Is it possible (since I am already canceling XM service) to remove the satellite receiver from the car completely to free up the slot for the car kit? Also, do you think that receiver an be transferred to another car or can XM transfer your service to another car themselves? Thxs
I have a 2008 ex-l honda accord without bluetooth and navigation system model, can i change the radio for the 2008 honda accord ex-l with navigation system and bluetooth i mean the factory radio for the model with navigation system and bluetooth
My 2008 Honda Pilot seems to have a larger steering wheel base than as shown in the video. It's making it difficult to remove the trim around the speedometer. Any tips?

With the new generation devices, you have to use our kit along with the Apple Lightning Adapter. We cannot make our out connection to transfer data, due to patents.
i own a honda pilot 2005 with entertainment system (rear dvd and cd changer) DO YOU HAVE A KIT SO I CAN CONNECT A IPHONE 5 TO THE RADIO AND BE ABLE TO STILL USING THE DVD AND CD CHANGER
Jose Velazquez The kit will not disable any functions of the radio. To use the iPhone 5 along with the kit, you will need the apple adapter called the Lightning.

So I need to leave a review about my GTA car kit that I installed in my Honda pilot. I’m giving it 2 stars out of five. Installation was fairly straightforward and but it doesn’t work quite as advertised. The quality is about cassette quality, not CD-quality for sure. Also I have people tell me they cannot hear me when I’m speaking through the microphone. Lastly, it is very temperamental to get it to connect to my phone via Bluetooth. It’s better than nothing but over priced for what you get.

@joelphnx yes I ran my gta cable down through a hole for a little light. Use a coat hanger to feed it through. It was easy.
