I've had mine for about 6 months now and it really is a wonderful piece of gear! Turns my modeler into basically a tube amp And its good for just about any genre!
@@tylerobrien2666 I'm currently using a SD power stage 170, all the profiles in my kemper sound digital, they don't have that authentic amp sound, I'm hoping a tube amp will change that, I'm got my fingers crossed with the KSR pa 50
@@jamesryder9158 I was using a solid state PA with my AX8 for 5 years before I got this. Trust me, it's 100% worth it. I couldn't be happier with this.
I’ve been taking serious consideration into trying to snag one of these so I can experiment with using a solid state preamp pedal like the SNK VHD, or something a little unexpected such as maybe even a Mesa Boogie Throttle Box EQ. I’ve always heard great results from hybrid rigs with tube preamps, but I’ve always thought hybrid rigs that were the other way around were really cool, too.
Hey, awesome review. You think the 25 Watt version would be loud enough? I'm currently running a sd powerstage 170 after my hx stomp. And i'm looking for a tube alternative.
I’m sure I’m a lil late but might as well spend $100 more and get the 50w version instead! Better to have it than not and they’re not making the pa25 anymore. Unless u grab one used
@@MetalheadOv666 yeah, if i were to buy a new one from the US i would definitely go for the 50w version. But that would add tax and toll. There was a second hand 25w one on reverb that was already in europe, so it was significantly cheaper without the tax and toll hassle.
@@MetalheadOv666 yeah, i bet that's a lot easier living in the US. Though it's gotten a lot easier here to, most of the process is handled by UPS or DHL. 15 years ago you had to fill out stuff or drive to the customs office. No, i was waiting to long and then it was gone on reverb. I play like 6 gigs a year max and for that the sd powerstage is sufficient. And even at smaller gigs going directly to front of house gets more and more common.
Great vid ..I’m partial 2 Mesa boogie power amps …and have em all synergy 5050 is pretty cool 2 …but this ksr sounds huge ..gonna hunt one down thanks man
@gat1gigs782 Thanks man! In this video, the IR isn't on - that is strictly the cab with an SM57. When I'm playing live, I have everything except the IR going into the FX Loop in the AX8, and the FX send is going into the PA50. The entire signal chain with the IR then goes into my mixer/in ears, so when I'm playing I can hear the click and the IR in my headphones while still getting the live cab sound. Hope that answers your question!
Great in depth review man. I always want more KSR stuff whenever I hear them these days.
Thanks dood, yeah KSR is among the cream of the crop
I went to high school with this guy. He is one of the most knowledgeable and professional players out there!
Thanks for the kind words, dude!

Exactly! In my eyes, there are no flaws to it.
Do you leave the poweramp modelling on?
Yes, you leave your amp sim on and just turn off the cab IR @@soulwreckedyouth877

Gonna need to grab one
Dude that might be the coolest fret board I have seen! I run a Ceres into my PA-50 best 1400 bucks I ever spent. KSR is something special for sure.
Dude thanks!! I got really lucky with that fretboard. KSR truly is one of the best!
Nice stuff, Tyler.
I'm getting the PA 50 for my kemper stage, can't wait, I'm super stoked
You won't be disappointed, man! It rules!

Honestly yeah. Especially if it's going into a PA where the volume is on their end.

Damn that sounds so different from my PA 50 and Ceres
Your cab/speakers are always the biggest factor in your tone - this is probably why!
nice work
Thanks man!
The combination of PA50 and the Ceres was out of this world. Have you tried other preamps as well?
Thanks, and yeah! I have an ADA MP-1 that sounds killer with it!
