Love mine. I got a ceres before the PA 50 came out. Was running though a solid state amp before. I thought the ceres sounded great before. Wow the PA 50 takes that thing to a whole new level. Then i got a Vesta thinking i would like it better than the ceres. Now they are both on my board. I couldn't let go of either. They both do a different thing. I might have a problem. Thanks Kyle
1. Great work as always riffing to suit the product. 2. I know it wasn't the point here but I'm thinking of trying a Ceres again. Somehow I didn't get on with it the first time and I can't figure why. You make it sound so good. 3. Stay metal.
@@MetalHeadProductions for whatever reason when I bought a Ceres and tested it it was gain-neutered and would not chug. I recently discovered that my Orange TH30 head will neuter my Kraken preamp the same way, but my MT15 does not do that. The BE and SLO mini head's also squashed the gain of my Kraken. As such, I am wondering if when I had the Ceres I ran it through my Orange and that's why I didn't like it. Maybe I'll luck into testing one again someday.
Cool video man! Just curious, with the master vol at 2:00, any idea how many decibels that is? Just wondering if it’ll be loud enough for rehearsals & on stage sound for live shows 🤔
Picked up one of these for a Christmas gift to myself. Played a Purple Nightmare Fractal FM-3 model into it and from there into a Friedman BE 4x12 cab. Cranked it a bit and and just had to start cracking up on just how awesome it sounds .
Super cool you got to meet Devin Townsend! Cool story! I have a couple very basic questions about the KSR... -Is the KSR PA50 plugged into a guitar cabinet, and the sound is coming from the cab's speakers? -You have some preamp distortion pedals connected to the KSR PA50, and those pedals function like an amp preamp, right? So if you turn those pedals off do you get a clean tone? Or would there be no sound, because you don't have something functioning as a preamp anymore? These might be super basic questions, so sorry about that. I just don't have understanding on how power amps work, or why someone would want to use an amp with just a poweramp section
So I have this plugged into a captorX. It's a reactive load box that acts like a can, and I use digital IRs of cab and speaker combos. Yes, that's correct, I use preamp pedals for distortion like the preamp of a guitar amp. It is a clean tone, but there is no EQ or character to the power amp.
@@MetalHeadProductions Wow, fast response, thanks man, that's very helpful! I'll have to do some research on the captorX. So is the captor X where the actual sound comes from?
I'm a little late to the party here, but will this compete with a drummer? I have a Seymour Duncan power stage 700. It sounds more than good enough, but would love to have a tube power amp.
I don't own a kiesel, unfortunately, especially because they're local for me, would love to get them on the channel though. That's a schecter km mkIII and it's such an amazing guitar.
Okay dude.... Real talk, there's a 5150iii Stealth underneath the Power amp in the background. Looks to be a 50 watt model... How does the KSR hold up vs. thst setup using a pre amp or modeler? I've got a quad cortex and I'm hoping to be able to use it with an actual 2x12 cabinet... But I wonder if I'm just better to buy an actual amp head instead.
It's so good for modelers, in fact Ola uses one of these and axefx as his love rig regularly. This would pair with the cortex beautifully and is definitely loud enough to for live with a drummer, no problem.

Great video. Thanks for all the info, I’m definitely gonna pick one up . And excellent playing too \m/
Stellar video!! Thank you for including us in this
Absolutely, I adore the Architect of Reality.
Love its form factor and control layout. I bet it feels grunty af under the fingers too.
I definitely love how it feels to play too
Waiting over a month for this bad boy, it’s all worth it in the end!!!
Sounds so good. Price tag is worth it. Cheaper than a new amp.
Good stuff, PA50 rocks such a versatile head. I love love love the PA50 with my Quad Cortex. Sounds so F'n good!!! Enjoy Steve!!
do you have to disable power amp modeling?
@@soulwreckedyouth877 you don’t. Try it with and without and see what you like. I like it on.

@@JoelCSabo sounds like you're running it into the wrong power section

do you disable power amp modeling or is the ksr neutral enough?
@markk9184
Ya know what, I didn't even think of that? So no I didn't. But geeze it sounds fucking great!
This is probably a good match for the Synergy stuff.
Oh absolutely
Crystal mountain love it!!
Killer! Such an awesome amp!
Yeah, absolutely fantastic power amp I've gotten so much use out of it. KSR always kills it.
congrats buddy
Great demo really nice piece of gear definitely fits a need
This sounds awesome! How about the with the baby Soldano amp?
havent tried yet, but Im sure awesome
yep.... KSR is king

@@msi1985 I think you're going to dig the setup, congrats!
Does this setup replace your traditional amps? Or is it more of a portability thing?
It can. If I wanted to run a pedal rig or a modeler, this would be perfect and portable.
