      It’s crazier when you realize that there are shoes for these kinds of people. It’s been shown that some shoes are not the best for like running so I get the issue of not using shoes to have different benefits. However, there is literally a market and allows you not to have your feet be the worst thing imaginable!!

      I accidentally violated the "no shoes" part once. We were coming from a fancy event and stopped for snacks at a convenience store on the way home. I was not use to heels so I took them off the second I could and entered the store barefoot. The clerk asked where my shoes were and I answered "In the car?? The heels hurt my feet," assuming he just thought I was a weirdo for walking barefoot in a formal dress with hair and full glam makeup.The man chuckled and didn't say more as he checked out my bundle of snacks. It was only after a friend pointed at the sign that I realized I was doing something wrong. I would've just given my friend my card and waited in the car if I noticed the sign or was asked to leave. Mind was kinda mush after the event so it slipped my mind completely.

      @@jewsaregenocidalhores Business cares, it's most likely to protect a business from getting sued. Imagine the idiot that goes barefoot gets infected while walking inside the store and sues the store. People can be allergic to different shit that could potentially be found on the floor. If you disagree with the policy, you are free to use another store that lets you do that.

    • @calfeggs
      @calfeggs หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don't get infected just from walking around in a store, and any risk is assumed by the patron not the store. I could just as easily trip over a display in the store and sprain my ankle or stab my eye out on a display hook. Humans weren't built to wear shoes; their feet are like any other animal. IMO a business should not be permitted to discriminate against people for a lack of utility-based attire that affects someone's interaction with the world. It affects nobody else other than themselves, stores and public places often have authoritarian staff looking for something to use their tiny bit of authority to get satisfaction, and the reasoning behind their policy is not based in reality. America is an exception when it comes to these kinds of policies, many countries like Australia have little issue with going barefoot, and assholes aren't as likely to make it priority of their lives to inflict hatred on things they don't understand. This kind of toxicity in America needs to change.

      LOOOOOOL, if that’s the case - I would have built up immunity to the excessive barium contrast, used for CT scans, I had injected into nearly every hole in my damned body, as well as some man-made holes..
      vs. getting heavy metal toxicity and developing skin fibrosis, kidney issues, osteoarthritis, hearing loss in my right ear, and more.
      Fairly certain the infectious disease doc I dealt with woulda told me I had antibodies for barium heavy metal, if that’s the case - even that that doesn’t make sense, in the freakin’ slightest.

    The mall guard was not telling them they're "wrong". He was not stating an opinion. The mall and stores are private businesses and can tell you to get out if you aren't wearing shoes. You don't get to argue. You put on shoes, you leave, or you get arrested for trespassing. By returning to Sephora, they were breaking the law, and they knew it, because they hid and ran. I hope they're proud.

I've never seen people just walking around *in public* without shoes on- even homeless people don't get away with that, the only people I ever saw try it in the small town I lived nearest to were shooed out if they didn't have at least socks or plastic bags on their feet. The audacity of these people to shit on Ohio *even more* than it already gets shit on, trying to say that this is just "a normal thing" that most Ohioans do- excuse us, Mr. and Mrs. Tiktok couple, but even we have more class than that! My guess is they’re misunderstanding why an elevated WBC is bad. Because that can indicate inflammation or infection in the body. But to my understanding that’s not the WBC being bad, that’s a separate issue entirely that’s shown by the WBC. So going out of your way to lower WBC is not smart as they’re needed to fight any issues.

    1) You hear a bunch of loud bangs and need to run for cover. How fast can you run barefoot in an urban envirenment?
    2) You're walking through a store and step on a small piece of glass. And now you've got glass in your foot, there's blood all over the floor, and the store owner is on the phone with his lawyer. There is a reason shops require shoes and if you get caught faking shoes like this, you open yourself up for a lawsuit in the instance that something happens.
    3) Feet, human nor animal, were not designed with the intent of walking on concrete and asphault all day. You're either going to have some thick calluses on your feet, or you're going to spend a lot of time shaving off those calluses. Not to mention the back problems and sore feet.

Not to mention Leptospirosis is also rampant and people tend to die of it here, because they 1) don't realize they had an open wound somewhere on their foot/leg 2) often think it's just a cold or the flu and don't get diagnosed/receive proper treatment until it's too late.

      I’ve seen videos of people getting chiggers cut from their feet. What a horrific thing to have to do. I wish there was a place people could donate shoes for the people who don’t have them. So many will end up crippled in time. We need to help each other. If everyone gave a little bit that they could. I know some really can’t. Eyeglasses are another thing. People could donate their old glasses. Some places have REAL needs.
