I've made this now three times since I discovered this video and wanted to leave another comment about my experiences. For starters, this is so delicious it is the best dish I can make! I've done twice in the Dutch oven and once in the slow cooker. The slow cooker may take longer, but I prefer that method. The first time I used the Dutch it fell apart easily, the second time it came out tough as a shoe. I take full responsibility, I went off the tracks somewhere. I've used the crock pot over the years and everything always falls apart coming out of that. So I tried that method today in my quest for redemption and it was perfect! Not to mention safer. I'm not used to sticking the Dutch in the oven, and once grabbed the lid without a glove after it came out of the oven. I made sure not to make that same mistake again!
Wow…Thanks Sean for taking the time out to leave such an in depth but yet great comment. I’m so glad everything turned out great both times! No worries, when cooking anything is prone to happen from time to time. After all, it’s happened to me before, and I realized I didn’t allow the beef to thaw out enough. So I found myself adding extra water, allowing it to cook for a longer time to soften up the meat. Thank goodness it worked lol. Have a Great weekend and stay safe!
I got doubt's about the 450' oven. Seems like the high temp would make it hold together for slicing rather than tearing down with a fork. But you did a super great job searing. Me, i would lean more towards an oven temperature of 280' and then wait it out for four hours, maybe even five hours.

@@MsGoldenSmiles Hahahaha. I wanna be her neighbor! Girl, forget borrowing a cup of sugar I ’d be knocking everyday borrowing whatever she cooked for dinner. lol
A Mississippi boy here, been making this for 10-15 years, and it's an absolute family favorite! GREAT video. A couple tips: - you can use a deer/venison roast just as well (better, IMO) - if you don't have the dry ranch seasoning, simply sub a couple tablespoons of Ranch salad dressing (we prefer it) - you can place all the ingredients in a crock pot before work, set the stick of butter on top, and it will be ready when you get home - Use a crock pot and add cut up carrots and potatoes, maybe some celery - add a tablespoon of jalapeno juice to heat things up just a little bit.
@@johnk1955 I encourage you to do it! I'm not sure what you're referring to by "venison roast," because there are several cuts of the hindquarter that meet the definition of "roast," but in the end it really doesn't matter. Heat up a skillet to med-high with a small amount of oil. Rub the venison roast all around with your preferred seasonings. I like a creole/cajun shake along with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place the roast into the hot pan and brown on all sides. Place the browned roast into a crock pot. Pour the seasoned oil from the pan onto your roast. Add the Au Jus powder, Ranch dressing (wet or dry), and then put 6-8 pepperoncini in the crock pot (add a little of the pepper juice, too). Set a stick of butter on top of the roast. Cook it like that all day for a basic (incredible) roast, OR....add sliced/diced onions, carrots, celery, and potatoes to the mix and make a complete meal in one pot! I promise you....it won't be the last time you make it!! My entire family has been addicted to this amazing meal for 20 years! Good luck!

Merry Christmas. I made this pot roast today. It came out delicious and tender. I bought a Dutch oven about 2 yrs ago and never used it until today. The only thing I did not add was the ranch. I dont like ranch. But it was delicious anyway and so tender, just like u said. Thank you for this delicious recipe.
Ok, listen. I don't eat beef; it's been about 20 years. My husband does eat beef, so I decided to make this for New Year's dinner. My husband loved it (I didn't have any) and kept saying how delicious it was! He was a little upset that I gave so much to the neighbors LOL. Great recipe, sis!
Did this today Tammy. I didnt have jus or ranch spice mix but made my own. I also added some carrots and normal fresh peppers instead of pepperoncini peppers, and added capers juice instead of pepperoncini juice as i didnt have pepperoncinis nor their juice. I also used Sirloin cap roast, seered and rendered the fat of it and used all together. I roasted it on 425 f, in a deep ceramic dish with 3 layers of aluminum foil because dont have crock pot, dutch oven or similar with a lid. Thickened with a little bit of cornflour. Its absolutely divine this way too. I subbed for more of your recipes. Simple and fool proof. Thank you 🥰 All the best
This is a must try. It’s my go to meal for family gatherings along with other dishes but this one here is the truth. Tender, savory, and full of flavor.
Thank you for a delicious and easy recipe! I liked the way you kept your demonstration and instructions moving along. Clear and to the point without making us watch a lot of chopping and measuring.
i LOVE ranch seasoning, my mom makes cubed potatoes with ranch seasoning on it, air fry it and then cover it in parmesan cheese. i will never eat it any other way. my friend from Maryland loved it so much he said 'you dont even need ketchup with these'. i ask him if he still thinks of my moms potatoes and he said yes. i got an air fryer for this reason and this reason alone lmao im from south louisiana btw:) so hope yall stay safe this coming hurricane season!
Great video. Great recipe. Great explanation of extra trips for 1st time cooks. And " WE" really did a great job. Do we really need the Au jus and the broth? But my mom used brown gravy and broth so I guess that's a yes. Funny how pepperonchini peppers and a crock pot makes this a MS recipe. Loved it. Signed another T- Italian Mississippian approved.
Great recipe! You can even use a baking dish (the one at the end) and cover tightly with foil. Set to broil for the last 4-5 mins (let it come up to heat) and remove and you'll get a nice sear on top and perfectly tender meat. You can even cook this for up to 3 hours, just make sure there is liquid and maybe a bit more butter at all times , so check on it once or twice, by pealing back the foil and then recovering the meat. That dish goes well with rice and broccoli, too... yum!

I made this tonight and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you! And more thanks for keeping the video quick, sweet, music free and to the point and with all of the optional information etc! Loved it ❤
I’ve made this many times with a different recipe. Your recipe looks the best, can’t wait to try it!
Omg...Sis!!! I made this and It was "BUSS'N" Thank you for this recipe. Forgot about the pot roast meal. Gonna have it more frequently!!
How you forget about pot-roast?!!🤔
@@TheBlinked1 😂 I got it Now...dont even care about the cost of beef.
Let me just say, I made this tonight for dinner and baby..... I actually used my Instant Pot which cut down on cook time 1hr. 40 min. to be exact. Fork tender and Flavor Amazing! Thanks for this Sis... I can't even tell you the last time I made roast. This will definitely be in rotation when we want a beef meal 🙂
Not a huge beef eater but I had definitely been wanting a pot roast so this is right on time!
Short and simple video. Your recipe is my only go to ❤
As soon as I watched this video I went and shopped for it. It was amazing and I think the whole neighborhood could smell what I was cooking! If this is how people in the south eat I'm on my way!
I’ve made this at least 10 times since I’ve found this recipe. My boyfriend can’t get enough of it!!! Geeeeez!!

Videos like this is why I'll never be a vegan.
Lol…
My wife and I never had this before today. It’s a keeper. Thanks for the video.
My sister made this yesterday with mashed potatoes and corn bread and I was mad at myself for not getting a to go plate.
Lol
Ok, listen. I don't eat beef; it's been about 20 years. My husband does eat beef, so I decided to make this for New Year's dinner. My husband loved it (I didn't have any) and kept saying how delicious it was! He was a little upset that I gave so much to the neighbors LOL. Great recipe, sis!
So glad everything turned out great Amina!! Happy New Year!!🎊🎉🎉🎊
Yo. I was scrolling through TH-cam and saw this thumbnail. Girl, I'm just 1 minute in the video and I already knew you know how to get down.
Lol…Thanks
Thank you 🥰
All the best
I made this recipe last night without the peppers (family preference). It was great! Thanks :)
Iam making this right now for Sunday dinner. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Following step for step! Mashed potatoes and greens!
I just started preparing roast beef myself and this video gave me some good tips and ideas.
Glad I could help!
I love using this recipe to cook this!!! So delicious!!!
This is a must try. It’s my go to meal for family gatherings along with other dishes but this one here is the truth. Tender, savory, and full of flavor.
Hey Tammy! This brings back some good memories from my childhood. Thank you so much for the recipe!
My pleasure c D
This the type of meal that holds your soul tight and close for a good lil minute.
Thanks!
Delicious, every time we make it. Thank you.
I'm making this today for the second time, so I went back to this video which explains it perfectly. Thanks Tammy, I am cooking with you!
Lol….You’re absolutely welcome. Enjoy!!
We made this tonight. Absolutely delicious! Thank you for this.
Thank you for a delicious and easy recipe! I liked the way you kept your demonstration and instructions moving along. Clear and to the point without making us watch a lot of chopping and measuring.
Thank you so much 🙂
i LOVE ranch seasoning, my mom makes cubed potatoes with ranch seasoning on it, air fry it and then cover it in parmesan cheese. i will never eat it any other way. my friend from Maryland loved it so much he said 'you dont even need ketchup with these'. i ask him if he still thinks of my moms potatoes and he said yes. i got an air fryer for this reason and this reason alone lmao
im from south louisiana btw:) so hope yall stay safe this coming hurricane season!
I've been cooking this in my Dutch oven for quite some time. I never use crock pot anymore.
This is exxxxcellent, pepperoncini ROCKS the roast.
I licked the plate…I’m not ashamed. Truly THE best roast I’ve ever tasted.
I lick the plate all the time to lol🤣🤣🤣When it’s good, it’s good!!! Lol
I'm definitely making this , thank you for sharing.
So delicious. I make this every few months. My husband can't get enough of it. Thanks for sharing this recipe. 😊
This recipe looks SO GOOD!!!!! Thank you!!!!
Holy cow this makes me hungry! 😊 Great job.
God bless all here.
Omg this looks soo delicios!!! Would love to see a variation of the recipe without the prepackaged stuff!
That dish goes well with rice and broccoli, too... yum!
This is my go to Sunday meal now! Great recipe and it is a crowd pleaser!!!
This is the best version of this recipe i've seen so far! Thank you ☺️
This is such a great & easy recipe. I’m excited to be cooking this today. Thank you for sharing. Blessings & Happy Holidays Everyone.
I made this. It was the best pot roast I ever had. I no longer need to search for that perfect pot roast recipe.
