Hi in your shopping list you mention Rosemary and thyme but In instructions it only list Rosemary. I have made this Mississippi Pot Roast 3 time . The first I did just like one of the recipe for. The last two time I make I didn’t version of it. It’s so delicious I can’t eat enough of it. I cooked mine in the Instapot. I will try slow cooking in oven or crockpot next. There are so version of this recipe out there. I know the version of recipe try first it didn’t have enough seasonings. I love watching videos and you have great ideas.
@@ivanascott6809 thanks.. the herbs are optional really.. you can use rosemary, thyme, and bay leaves in any combination based on your personal preference
First time watching this young man but i like ...doing this for dinner tomorrow...but i rock with smokin hes awesome...ill be checkin with this young more now
OMG!!!!! This roast is a whole entire "situation". I made it today for Sunday dinner, along with green beans, buttery mashed potatoes and hawaiian rolls. The roast was AHHH-MAZING!!!! It's soooo flavorful, extremely tender and completely falling apart. The juices made the best gravy I've ever had and the pepperoncinis gave it a nice little kick, but not spicy at all. This is going to be my "go to" roast recipe forever. Thanks so much for sharing it .
Pot roast snob here. My official rating: Holy Mother Of God. Nailed the blend of savory without being too salty, tenderness, and slight heat. We followed the recipe exactly and this will now be in our regular rotation. Pro tip: eat the garlic after it's done.
Got mine going in the slow cooker and it smells unbelievable. My store was out of Ranch Seasoning, so used a “beefy onion” gravy mix in addition to the Au Jus mix. I can already tell it’s gonna be money! Thanks for all your work, and I’m a huge fan. I’ve made at least a dozen of your recipes and they are all pure magic.❤
All of this guy's recipes look INCREDIBLE! I am ALWAYS in AWE of his technique and final presentation. Even more impressive for me is that he wears gloves during cooking. I'm big on sanitation and he definitely is on point all the way around in the Kitchen. He's kinda funny too he could definitely see him on television hosting a cooki ng show and interviewing various guests. He's a star!!
I may not have made ‘this’ exact roast. However, I have learned SO MUCH about seasoning and browning meats..and..searing meats! I..was so proud of myself for searing the roast I am cooking right now! Made the the support ‘party’..added the roast back..back in the oven..for an ‘over night’ oven roast! I can’t wait for morning! Feels like..waiting on Santa!
Love it. I appreciate how you use real culinary terms to describe things like, "fond," etc. I'm curious about your decision to use chicken broth over beef broth.
I love how detailed your explanations are, def feel like I can handle this one. Always been intimidated on making homemade gravy but this seems straightforward and simple.
I like to use equal parts of oil and flour depending on how much gravy I want to make. But can you really make too much gravy!! Once your flour is good and brown, pour HOT chicken broth in and whisk whisk whisk it. Then add garlic powder, black pepper and salt to your liking. I usually add some Cajun seasoning to mine like “slap ya mama.” Once it’s thick or thin enough to your liking. With the chicken stock be careful how much salt you add. Enjoy!
Thanks for letting us know cause I can't find ranch seasoning in my area so I might try it this way. Have you put the oven at 325F like in the video or 350 like in the description ? And 1/2 cup of the pepperoncini vinegar liquid like in the video or 2 table spoon like written ? And in the video he use chicken broth but it is written, beef broth. What have you use please. Have you also put the AP seasoning at the beginning ? Cause I am in Quebec and don't have these. Sorry for all my questions. Thanks for the help!
I make this roast often and it has the best taste of any I have ever made. Yours look absolutely fantastic. Everyone that loves pot roast should try this recipe. You will love it! And it’s oh so simple
I've been making your other Mississippi pot roast for a while now. We absolutely love it, I see you don't add the flour in the beginning anymore. Ok I'll try this new method next time!
I don’t make my roast any other way now since I discovered the recipe on Pinterest, but I use Lipton Beefy Onion soup packet instead of au jus, and I just leave that sucker in the crock pot. My niece requests it all the time. It’s hella good 💪🏾
Man!! That was the best looking pot roast I ever seen. I’m totally gonna make that. The only thing you forgot was fresh buttered white bred. So effin good!!!!!
Great minds think alike I’m making Mississippi pot roast Mac and cheese green beans and honey cornbread I used everything you did but I added carrots and celery with potatoes to mine and I use beef bouillon base
Gonna have to try this in the cast iron Dutch oven I just got. One thing I’d add in the last 45-60 mins of cooking - before thickening the gravy - is some quartered potatoes, unpeeled new white.
Lord Have Mercy!!! You did that! Not only does it look DELICIOUS but easy. I'm making this for Sunday dinner this weekend. 😋 Thank youuuu Mr. Make It Happen!
I lost the TH-cam video to the pot roast I like to make, TH-cam is crowded with this packet pot roast so much so I can't find the regular one. So I'll give it a try..... Finally found someone doing the recipe on the stovetop. Being I don't have a croc pot this is great can't wait to try the peppercini creation 😭🔥
Highly recommend Mr. MIH All Purpose (AP) seasonings. I’ve tried all 3 and they are absolutely the best. I’ve made 4 purchases so far increasing my bottle count each time 😀. AP seasoning is a great gift for your family cook or for that person in your family that is afraid to season their food.
I made this recipe I had to replace the peppers with jalapeños deal worked. Oh my goodness it’s the best pot roast I’ve ever made. My plan was simple make it early on Christmas day. Take it over to Mom‘s house and have leftovers for the next day. I know there will be no leftovers.
I made this along with your mashed potato recipe and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. I will only make my post roast this way going forward. As a side note, I only seasoned my chuck roast with black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. No extra salt was added outside of the salt contents in the ranch packet and au jus gravy packet. Flavor was on point. Also, I peeled my head of garlic so that I wouldn’t have to discard it since I love garlic. Awwww, this was so good.
I make a pot roast for my daughter a couple times a year. I’ve been meaning to try this version and I’m so happy to see your vid! My mouth is watering and I don’t even eat red meat! LOL. Keep up the good work…and I need try some Lemon Bay as soon as you have it!
This looks FANTASTIC!! Gonna have to make this ASAP! I just made your orange chicken today LITERALLY the BEST I HAVE EVER Made (the chicken batter/breading doesn't overwhelm the pieces, crispy and extra light) the orange sauce, OMFG! ROCK ON ROCKSTAR!! Git' that kitchen on!!
I haven't had Papa John's in years but I always loved those pepperoncinis they give with the pizza. I will for sure make this next time I make pot roast. Only I wish I had it in front of me right now. I like to eat pot roast with some good buttered bread. You have no idea how much I wish I could eat your food everytime you post a video. 🥰
I had to come back to say not only did I make this, but it was easy AND delicious! Definitely the best roast I’ve ever made. Will definitely be adding this to my collection. Thank you!
Ok, ok. I can't cook, BUT HOLY SHIT, JUST DID THIS FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER AND ITS BOMB!!! it took me 4 hours at 350°. I didn't need to thicken up the gravy bc it was gravy consistency. It's a little spicy!! Not sure if that's due to the peppers or the AP i used but Delicious!! I made mash potatoes as well so I'm excited to have my family taste it!!
