I really don't agree. There have been so many remasters lately that are GameCube and PS2 games. Spyro was remastered, Crash had a trilogy release, Super Monkey Ball was remastered, Wind Waker has a remake, Diamond and Pearl just got remakes - although horrible ones but I think they made up for it with the Legends game in Sinnoh - Mario Vs. Donkey kong just got a remake and Paper Mario A Thousand Year Door is being remade over its N64 predecessor, and the list goes on. It's actually a rather recent development that the 2000s are being focused highly in remakes and probably because companies realize that the Gen Z babies are nostalgic for those games so just updated graphics and some updates to their favorites will sell well.
I actually wouldn't mind Super Mario 64 DS returning although they'd have to add more and change the title as it wouldn't be on the DS and if it didn't come with more content then it would be pointless as it would stick to the limitations of the DS which the Switch can surpass with little to no effort, I think if it was brought back then maybe they should add Waluigi and Birdo as Playable characters, a few new painting worlds and maybe even a whole side story involving Daisy instead of peach and they could add Bowser Jr as a boss you'd see occasionally
No it’s not Mario Day yet I mean Nintendo hasn’t had any staff layoffs for years unlike what happened to Activision Xbox and Toys For Bob which had lost 1,900 employees a few weeks ago which broke our hearts.
The problem I have with it is that they advertised it as a “look through the past of Mario” and yet it only showed games that you could play on the Switch. If they explicitly made it very obvious that they were only going to show games on the Switch, I wouldn’t be too upset.
If they put Galaxy and Galaxy 2 as a collection bundle for the switch, it would of sold like millions of copies. But nope, Nintendo doesn't care about money sometimes.
Maybe Nintendo is already thinking about making Mario galaxy one and two for switch Nintendo has the ability to surprise and delight us and for me Nintendo is the only one that can still do that.
The last shred of hope I have for the galaxy games and sunshine is that they'll get a switch 2 release. Nintendo is the most confusing mix of typical corporate greed and absolute stupidity when it comes to marketing so who knows.
@rheokalyk367 don't lie to to us, you'd pirate them anyway, everybody knows the majority downloads games off the web instead of dumping the roms of their own games...
@@raptros However I'd say pirating is a totally fair choice. Yes. It's illegal. But Nintendo has already closed down previous E-Shops from previous devices before the Nintendo Switch. So unless your planning on spending potentially hundreds or thousands of dollars on a physical copy (Which would be a very stupid idea since originally the games only costed 60 to 20 dollars on previous consoles and handhelds.) there would be absolutely no other way to ever experience those games again unless by chance Nintendo decides to put them up on their emulation service. (Which could happen years from now seeing how decently long it took for them to add gameboy games and such onto their emulation service. Which is locked behind a SECOND service you also have to pay for.)
And that's why people emulate old games. I'd be super happy to play Super Mario Land 1 on NSO since I think their emulator is quite good and the screen filter looks good (yes, yes, RetroArch can do the same, I know) but Nintendo doesn't want to give us the full range of their Mario games, or any of their older console's games for that matter. I'm glad to have SMG2, I doubt they still release it for this Switch. Maybe the next one but not this one anymore or at least not before the new one releases.

Mother 3 will never be released internationally, unless the music is severely altered/redone. /watch?v=if64VlLa5Oc video by Moon Channel, a Lawyer. Summary: Due to Japan's more lax music laws, they can get away with having similar melodies. In the US and other countries? No way, without licensing it. Which would be very expensive vs potential profits. Along with possibly destroying how the game's impacts to others if they modified the OST. So yeah, please stop acting surprised when the re-release it in Japan.

Nintendo: *treathens to send the nintendo ninjas to track you down* Also nintendo:let's make stuff unavailable so you are forced to buy a copy from ebay!
@@jsb0714They don't *need* to but they've made so many successful games on previous consoles that it'd honestly be an infinite money hack to take those games and port them to the newer consoles every couple gens to make even more revenue and already have a winner right out the gate
I don't think anybody was expecting that to happen. If the "insiders" are right about the switch successor coming out early next year, then the next 3d mario isn't gonna be shown until the switch successor gets revealed
My guess on what happened with 3D allstars: They (mistakenly) assumed there would be little interest in it after the anniversary was over. Last I heard on the matter, they couldn't *go back on* making it limited release due to some japanese laws involved. Something about any product or service marked for limited availability *MUST* adhere to that limited availability. Hence my theory is a bad prediction (though not entirely unreasonable from a business-level view; anniversary celebrations DO tend to fall off after said anniversary. They just forgot to consider how popular Mario, specifically, is.) led to them getting trapped into a no-win situation.
To quote myself: "Nintendo has only included games you can buy on your Switch right now as an attempt at marketing instead of actually promoting their biggest franchise of all time. They left out key games like Galaxy and Sunshine, games that have left a lasting mark on the Super Mario franchise. They didn't even include Donkey Kong, which is (technically) Mario's first ever appearance. Other games they failed to include are Lost Levels, Super Mario Land 1, New Super Mario Bros DS/Wii/2, Galaxy 2, 3D LAND, Super Mario Maker 1/2, and Mario Run. This list is from an article by TheGamer, which doesn't include any spinoffs, like Mario RPG, the Mario and Luigi series, Mario Kart, or any of the sports titles. They don't care about legacy, and they don't care about us as fans."
I’m pretty sure Mother 3 wont come to the US unless they delete the infamous hot spring scene. It’s likely the main reason they refuse to port it. Sunshine and Galaxy are still on switch at the same price they were new on All Stars. All stars “isn’t for sale anymore” but most stores still have copies of it for the same price as it was when released. eBay has copies for 50 and 60. It’s Galaxy 2 that is unplayable on switch.
What do you think are the chances that Galaxy 2 has some weird hidden secret nobody found yet, that Nintendo are deeply ashamed of, and they're hoping nobody will ever find it. Some obscure easter egg where Luigi comes out as canonically gay or something.
@@platinum-or3y Like maybe they're trying to pretend Galaxy 2 doesn't exist because they found out some disgruntled dev put in a really secret (and really offensive) easter egg that no-one found yet, and they don't want people digging, so they just act like it doesn't exist and hope no-one ever finds it.
There'll Be a bundle of the 3 Remaining 3D Super Mario Titles, because of The 40th Anniversary of the Original Super Mario Bros Next year,& the 15th Anniversary of Super Mario Galaxy 2,so they must release this on Switch
A pattern with the games they show is that each game is extremely sharp graphically. I mean, all of them were clearly 1080p. (no blurry ones like NSMBDS, NSMBWii, SM3DL, or NSMB2.) It was the same with Mario Maker and that’s (probably) why a lot of game styles were forgotten. Why pick the pixelated mess that is NSMBDS when you have a crisp, clear, NSMBU? Still, though, Nintendo is completely insane for advertising like this.

Examples shown here in this video are the Batman Theme, Micheal Jackson's 'Beat it", "Back in the U.S.S.R." by the Beatles, and others.
So yeah, please stop acting surprised when the re-release it in Japan.
It is called marketing for a reason.
day 1 of telling nin10doland to tell his fans about the 3ds revival service: pretendo network
the blind love for the mario universe is starting to wear off by nintendo doing the bare minimum. even with the battle course pass for example, so much could’ve been added like some courses for battle mode. but nope. or what about the lack of characters and boards in mario party superstars? it’s just forgotten.
Nintendo: *treathens to send the nintendo ninjas to track you down*
Also nintendo:let's make stuff unavailable so you are forced to buy a copy from ebay!
Little did he know that we would get bigger news on the actual mar10 day
A video titled "Mario Day 2024" in Japan includes references to the sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie
I loved both the galaxy games and that’s a total bummer because I would definitely replay them if I could.
I think it’s dumb the games Nintendo doesn’t give us. Like, do you not want money? It literally takes less work, and so many people will buy them.
Jfc, every previous game does not need to be available for every future system.
@@jsb0714They don't *need* to but they've made so many successful games on previous consoles that it'd honestly be an infinite money hack to take those games and port them to the newer consoles every couple gens to make even more revenue and already have a winner right out the gate
It literally does not take less work, you have no idea what you're talking about
I bet Nintendo won't reveal a New 3D Mario game on Mario Day.
I don't think anybody was expecting that to happen. If the "insiders" are right about the switch successor coming out early next year, then the next 3d mario isn't gonna be shown until the switch successor gets revealed
I assume the actual reason for SML not on Switch Online is because it doesn't support GBC, while SML2 does.
You’re wrong, they were both DMG games. Hacks for both do exist which add colour and even graphics changes too.
I’m just happy we get to celebrate the big reds’ day again :)
To be honest, Lego Mario still excites me. I can't wait to see what they've made for this summer.
My guess on what happened with 3D allstars:
They (mistakenly) assumed there would be little interest in it after the anniversary was over.
So issue a "3D All-Stars Deluxe" including Galaxy 2. Solved.
I'm just glad Mario 3D Land is getting the recognition it deserves from the fans.
4:00!It was limited so that if they rereleased them they don’t compete with themselves
To quote myself:
"Nintendo has only included games you can buy on your Switch right now as an attempt at marketing instead of actually promoting their biggest franchise of all time.
Funny how you mentioned nobody shining a light on Galaxy 2, but I recently saw someone streaming it for the first time lol
Literally a few minutes Spain released the video of Mario across the years today.....
You're forgetting Super Mario 3d All Stars exists
nintendo has forgotten about gamecube/wii era mario...
8:17
He referenced his "Nintendo has forgotten about Mario" video!
I totally missed all this. I especially feel like an idiot for forgetting Super Mario Bros. Wii.😅
As someone who loved playing Mario galaxy 2 as a kid, it’s so sad that they didn’t bring it back
Them showing NSMB U Deluxe and then not putting it on sale is also very questionable too.
What
@@platinum-or3y Like maybe they're trying to pretend Galaxy 2 doesn't exist because they found out some disgruntled dev put in a really secret (and really offensive) easter egg that no-one found yet, and they don't want people digging, so they just act like it doesn't exist and hope no-one ever finds it.
based, has to be true
Mario Galaxy 2 is my favorite Mario game of all time. I really hope they do a remake of that game.
There'll Be a bundle of the 3 Remaining 3D Super Mario Titles, because of The 40th Anniversary of the Original Super Mario Bros Next year,& the 15th Anniversary of Super Mario Galaxy 2,so they must release this on Switch
Ah yes the 3 remaining 3D Mario games, Galaxy 2, 3D Land and Hotel Mario
@@PigeonNHL Hotel Mario is my favorite 3D title
Super Mario 3D All-Stars 2: Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Brothers 2.
I feel bad for whoever didn’t get the the chance to purchase 3D all stars
They didn't even show the Mario RPG or Mario vs DK remakes lol.
Oh glad I got the 3D All Stars collection before it got taken down. Didn't think Nintendo would do that.
I guess that artificially makes my switch valuable because 3D all-stars is installed on it
You can get a 3D all stars physical copy pretty cheap nowadays
ALSO I MISS MARIO 35!! Why did you do this Nintendo
6:52 Super Mario 64 DS: AM I A JOKE TO YOU!
Mario 35 a) isn't even playable anymore and b) isn't even close to a mainline game what is bro trying to say 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
@@PigeonNHL I meant to say I miss Mario 35
Mario Galaxy 2 was even more unusual, as it's one of the few Wii games to come in an actual box, as i still own the original game.
they skipped so many games because they arent on switch online but 3d all stars is still available on the switch second hand
