      Yes, you can use any keyboard that features a midi out port as a midi controller with Logic Pro X! If your audio interface has a midi input port, connect Midi Out from Roland XP 60 to Midi In of your audio interface (or midi interface) and look in Audio Midi Setup to see if your MAC recognizes the keyboard. Then you can use it in Logic Pro without further setup. It should be selectable in Inspector panel for the track under "Midi In Port".

    • @yourobson
      @yourobson 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. I think this explains why the Virtual Keyboard sounds so loud. At first I thought it was something wrong with my MIDI, but then I realised that the volume of sound from Software Instrument made with MIDI is different for different instruments and the parameters like Velocity etc can be adjusted. I'm novice to Logic as you see. 😃@@MattiasHolmgren

      How do you connect? Usb cable to computer. Press a key on the keyboard, and In Logic toolbar (transport bar, below 4/4 and Cmaj) you can see a "grey dot" if you have incoming midi, whenever you press a key...and it will also show you what notes / chord you play on the keyboard. That's the first step to verify midi is incoming to Logic.

    Hello greetings from Guatemala. I changed to a new compurter 13' M2. As you know the computer has two thunderbolt 4. The other I am using an apple adapter (usb 3 charging my computer, hdmi for and external display and the usb for my external keyboard computer, that actually I only used the space bar for start and stop and the enter for restard the song).
    The problems is that the Apple adapter doesn't read my piano Kurzweril xp2xs, so I am using midi cables from the keyboard to my interface but I'M HAVING LATENCY AND SOUNDS LIKE I DON'T HAVE ENOGUH POLYPHONY

      They Keyboard is a midi controller so it will not show up in Audio Devices of "Audio Midi Setup". If the keyboard shows up in Midi Studio, it should be able to transmit data into Logic Pro without any additional setup. In Logic, If you press a key on the Keystep , does a white dot appear to the right of the 4/4 meter in the Transport bar? That's an indicator that Logic receives midi.

      @wilstewart342 what vst / virtual instrument have you loaded on the track? I would suggest just loading one of the logic native instruments on the track. Because if you get that white dot logic Does receive midi note data and you should get sound….

      @@wilstewart342 yeah that makes sense. In your previous comment it looked like you was pressing the Keystep. Blending in the Command K computer keyboard into the discussion will only confuse. haha, It ALWAYS works.
      For trouble shooting use only Logic instruments, like ES2 Synth.
      Is your instrument "greyish" in OSX Audio Midi Setup (Midi Studio)? The instrument should light up in a brighter color if it's correctly recognized by your computer. If it's "greyed.out" color, it's NOT connected to the computer....it has been connected previously, but is not NOW connected / recognized.
      SO there's two states for showing the devices.
      My guess is that it worked in the past, and the Keystep 37 is greyish in that application. Correct?
      It's hard to troubleshoot more without seeing pictures / video but at this point I would advice you to reach out to Arturia for full support and further troubleshooting.
