      The track view must be controlling Audio volume and the midi controller output is midi volume, which explains why the track fader is not moving. Regards.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This is exactly what I needed. I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the record/play/arrow buttons on my keystation 49es to work. They were playing notes just as you demonstrated. Changing the setting to “TRANSPORT” it makes total sense now. Thank you I still have some hair left!

      I found this morning Your steps to connect my new M 1 Keystation were very clear and concise. Following along with you, It was up and running in no time. Additionally, I was able to realize how the subtlties of ongoing Mac OS and Logic pro upgrades can glitch a brilliant demonstration. There are a couple steps that were clouded which I attribute to an update in Logic 10.8.1 to Ventura from Mojave which shifted things around just enough... but I have used logic for over 10 years, so I was familiar enough to catch the change which probably happened since you originally posted these helpful steps. Thanks again.@@MJWMediaStudios

    This doesn't work for Logic Pro 10.7.8 using rosetta. The mackie control addition doesn't play into the keystation Mk3, you still get piano sounds using the transport. Further the ADVANCED setting has one check box for "Enable Complete Features" in which all the features from Customization and Control to Score Editor are merely information boxes with no ability to adjust their setting individually. It's now a global command. Any setting advice form anyone?

      Hi. That's a little strange that it doesn't display USB midi in the output. If it is still showing up twice then I guess one of those two options must be correct. Have you tried selecting both of them separately to see if any of them work? Also maybe try connecting your Keystation 49 to a different USB port if you have one available. I'm sorry if I misunderstood your question when saying you can see the name twice.

      I think the Alesis v161 functions has to be assigned / mapped manually within logic pro. Is the midi keyboard working in terms of making sounds when you tap the keys as it should just be plug and play to use as a standard midi controller / piano. There are plenty of videos on TH-cam on how to assign or map your buttons which doesn't take to long. Unfortunately not all brands work using this method and have to be setup manually.

      Mackie is the one that is used for m-audio. You can try the m-audio option but it may not work. Most of the midi controllers I've used had to be used with mackie control. Doesn't always work for all manufactures, but most of them have mackie support.

    The issue we are experiencing is midi keyboard sensitivity as in if you barely touch a key on the midi keyboard it will get recorded. We want it to that you have to really press the midi keyboard key to trigger a record. How do you set this sensitivity? I know people like to relate sensitivity to velocity, but that can easily be addressed.

    • @MJWMediaStudios
      @MJWMediaStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not aware of a way this can be done inside of logic pro apart from adjusting the velocity. In most cases you will have the sensitivity adjustment buttons on your midi controller. Have a look in your user manual to see if you have an option for changing sensitivity. Sorry I couldn't be much help

    I have been having problems with midi. The tuning on the piano pluggins are inconsistance. Sometimes it goes out of tune with itself. How can i remedy this?
    Any settings i need to adjust?
    How can i know if its the keyboard or soundcard?

    • @MJWMediaStudios
      @MJWMediaStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. It's hard to help with a solution when I can't see the issue for myself. What plugins are you using? What brand mini controller are you using? It could just a simple fix, like you've assigned a pitch bend and not noticed, and now it sounds out of tune. If you can give me a little more information, I'll try my best to help you out 🙂

    • @MJWMediaStudios
      @MJWMediaStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you routed the keyboard via USB directly to you computer, or have you used the midi in and out on the back of the focusrite? The sound card shouldn't really be affected as the keyboard is only sending and receiving midi data which will trigger the sounds inside of logic. Unless you have placed a certain effect on the midi channel, or changed any settings on the patch, a midi controller should never be out of tune. The problem could be with the logic sound files if it's specific to the steinway and yamaha patches. Have you tried updated your sound library inside of logic (or maybe reinstall it) has this just been a recent issue, or has it always sounded out of tune?

    • @MJWMediaStudios
      @MJWMediaStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you don't need to delete logic, you can just go to the logic pro menu on the top left corner and you'll see an option for sound library. Inside of there will be a option to download essential sounds or reinstall sound library. It should just check for missing or corrupt files and replace them. It could be a pitch bend problem, but it's generally hard to know for sure when I can't see if for myself. Sorry I can't be any more help 🙂

    • @MJWMediaStudios
      @MJWMediaStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me know if reinstalling the sound library worked. Make sure you let all the sounds re-index after they've downloaded. Logic should tell you it's indexing the files and putting them into the correct folders etc. After that, just close and reopen logic and see if it's solved the issue. If not I'll try and find a way of disabling the pitch wheel 🙂

    • @MJWMediaStudios

With most older keyboards, you may have to manually assign all the knobs and faders to control logic pros interface. Then under 'Device' select 'USB MIDI Interface' for Output and 'Any' for Input. Im using Catalina on MacBook Air, High Sierra on my iMac and High Sierra on my school MacBook Air. But i use the iMac and the MacBook with Cataline for my recordings and productions.
    Do you think that i can follow the same steps that u did so that it all will work as supposed too? (remember my model is the KeyLab by Arturia [1st gen]. Stand-alone works perfect btw, but in Logic Pro X the configuration gets a bit werd for me haha:).

      Hey. Your arturia keylab should work with following the same steps in this video and choosing Mackie control, but just change your input and output to arturia. As for the Oxygen 88, this is one of those midi controllers that doesn't like to work well with logic. You're not the first person to have issues getting it to function properly in side of logic pro. Unfortunately there really isn't any simple way of getting this to work without maybe mapping all your buttons and functions manually. It's the same process if you use the AKAI MPK midi controller (another midi keyboard that has problems with logic) if you can get your hands on an M-Audio Keystation or M-Audio Code it will make your life much easier as they take a couple of minutes to setup and everything will work as it should following the steps in this video.
