You should do a video like "Don't miss these things" in the game. Things that aren't exactly firsthand knowledge to a new player, but are important things that may be easy to miss/not be aware of. As well as items that become unobtainable past a certain stage in the game. Good stuff!

Great advice brother I'm a new player just past the prison now. Some advice I would suggest is firstly never assume a npc can't be talked to over a counter for example I didn't know I could talk to a guy to get a battery off him! I had to cheat and Google how to power up the wall part. Mainly due to myself just not feeling it and wanted to rush the game a bit. Secondly a big one to, never assume just because there is no arrows on the screen that there just mustn't be exploration there I've found countless places just running behind cliffs or spamming ok button to find hidden areas which can give good loot or secret dialogue. Lastly I would suggest taking your time and talking to all NPCs and actually read the dialogue. I've sadly grown to custom to MMOs with bad dialogue with lame fetch quests to skip through reading just to be spoon fed an icon to take me to my next destination. FF vii isn't like modern spoon feeding games where there is no riddles or puzzles. With FF vii you will have to read and challenge yourself to think outside the box that is if you don't want to get lost between missions or lose cool exclusive rewards for solving npc riddles. Thanks for this video and hope this info helps others too!
Great additions, thanks! The prison area is a spot you can get stuck in and certainly teaches you that the game isn't going to hold your hand through some segments.
Get Matra Magic from the area around Midgar. This attack only costs 8mp, and will one-shot groups of enemies (provided you aren't under the effects of Fury), making early Limit farming MUCH easier. I farm the woods near Fort Condor, since most groups are either 5 or 3, and do enough damage to help you farm your 2nd limits (per level) easily as well. Also where you can first pick up Yuffie.
@@AlaskanForWar yeah and after a half playthrough and talking with my friends, I was like "wait, you guys got a chocobo?" and that's where one of my friends drop the bomb "where you at? Aerith already dies?"
ive started and gave up this game like 4 or 5 times throughout my childhood. Only ever made it to disc 2 back then. now ive started it and a few hours in ive already escaped midgar and in kalm. Its gonna happen this time around guys.
i had the issue over the years of the memory card corrupting well into the game most 50+hrs 4-5 different times on the ps1. recently remembered that i had a ps2 and tried playing only to find out i needed a ps1 memory card lol took a few days and 3 different stores but i found one. for now this video was supper helpful as well as 2 different walkthroughs im 18 hrs in..lvl 27 clouds already maxed out on his limit break to this point(set 3) and already went to kalm and now trying to get a chocobo to learn chocobuckle before learning beta from the big snake at the end of this video \m/(^-^)
when you get to higher levels the materia combos really shine. Final Attack + Pheonix with auto revive you and do damage when that character dies. Absorb MP/HP + knights of the nine (or any multi hit spell like comet2 or the 2x cut materia) will greatly restore your resources. that materia that lets you cast death + add status materia will give you a chance to just insta kill things if you put it on your weapon. also the ghost of the gi tribe you fight with red xiii can be killed with an x potion or pheonix down. like most undead in the FF games they take damage from healing spells. always use that sense materia to see what you are fighting.
Here's a tip: Keep an eye out on how much materia you're holding when you get to the Northern Crater. Your other party members will pick up materia when you split them up and if you have too much materia when you regroup, you will lose materia. I lost a ton of mastered materia because I was not aware of the cap and because of it, I will never have Master materia in any category on my master save file.
you can fight midgar salom the first time (giant snake), just be sure your characters have enemy skill on before entering, you only need to enter in sad mode, this allows you to resist better physical damage, all your party members on the back row, poison it with cloud or aeris, wait/defend all the time except to heal and / or if MS drops out of poison in which case you have to poison it again, and keep defending and only attack if you reach a limit brake. if you are lucky he will use Beta ES, if you learn it you'll have a powerful enemy skill who can one shot any enemy or group of enemies at a expense of miserable 20 MP, if i recall correctly, pretty early in the game.
im going to add some more tips. Battle speed and ATB type are also difficulty settings as well. setting the battle speed to fast and ATB to active makes the game harder and setting it to battle speed to slow and ATB wait makes the game easier. Materia tips: although removing materia does strengthen your character it still can be better to just leave it on since you have to equip it for it to earn ap (the exp for materia)
I agree mostly with the materia tip but I think it does depend on what you plan to use long term. There is a ton of materia in this game and some of it I almost never use. lol
Use hypers on party members who need to use a limit breaks a number of times to get the next one. It gives fury status, which increases damaged recieved but fills the limit gauge way faster. Or click in the right stick on newer versions to have instant limit and full health. Also use tranquilizers on Vincent for boss battles. The sadness will reduce damage and slow progression of the limit gauge. Sometimes his transformation will use an elemental attack that just heals the enemy, so that sucks.
The very quickest way to get limit breaks, is do [ cover + hyper + front row ] to Aerith, then have her cast [ fury brand ] which automatically maxes out the other players limit gauges. You can leave the Mithril Mine with Level 3/ Tier 2 limit breaks all acquired. This includes Yuffie, because you can find her in the forest by Ft. Condor, and then go back into the mine. It's good to go into Junon with angermax and doom of the living available! Rufus doesn't seem as threatening lolz
when at shinra HQ, the hojo laboratory level (same floor that has cells the party is put in) in the hall south of the cells there is an enemy encounter. "Soldier 3rd class" (you must do this before meeting hojo. since jenova changes things) you can obtain the Hardedge by stealing from them. a Cloud weapon which will still be his best even at Nanikis village.
Thanks a lot for the video never played a final fantasy before so I was struggling to figure out how it worked and now I think it’s one of my favorite games of all time.
You can totally kill the Midgar Zolom in the swamp your first time through. You have to have elemental combined with fire materia to reduce fire damage, usually while having Enemy Skill equipped on the same character. Fight until he hits with beta, then use beta to kill him. Hard to do, but very possible.
I just started a replay of FF7. I just got to this part. It’s actually pretty easy if you do it right. Use tranquilizers on your party, put them all in the back row, and give whoever is holding the enemy skill materia the fire-elemental combination in their armor. If you steal a couple Graviballs in the train graveyard you can use those to cut its health by almost half. Then cast bio/bio 2 and let the poison eat away at it. Once it’s health drops under 1500 it will use beta if attacked, but it will also remove a team member, so don’t attack it with the character holding the enemy skill. You should survive as long as you have the fire-elemental combo. Once it casts beta, just cast it right back and you win. I was only level 15 and I had no problem doing it first try.
@@TheOneAndOnLEE. Well, I just learned something new. I always thought it was random who was booted out. Bio is wonderful against the Zolom for sure. Hope you also got the melee weapon for Aerith in the train graveyard. She is your best attacker by far with that thing.
@@kevintrent7485 yea I try to steal all of the useful and unique things as early as I can, as well as abusing powerful enemy skills like beta and white wind that you can get fairly early. It sort of takes the challenge out of the game a little though lol
The cover tip for increasing the number of times a particular character is hit to increase their limit gauge is great. I'm trying to get everyone's L4 limits so I will definitely use this one. Another tip is to inflict fury upon them by giving them a hyper; their limit gauge will fill quicker.
Highly helpful. I played this many, many moons ago and only barely finished the first disk and have spend the last 20 years thinking it was an overrated game. Picked it up again last week for the craic and was absolutely blown away by it. I've been gobbling up the game and and enjoying it with a new perspective on the quality of writing and variety of mini games dynamics that doesn't feel forced that you just don't find anymore. These tips definitely cleared up much of the confusion I had too. Thank you muchly
I just started ff7 yesterday. It’s been 22 years since I’ve seen my the old crew. Figured maybe I should watch this just to refresh me for strategies I forgot over the years. Thanks so much for making this video my friend!
FrocketGaming shit I was wondering when the demo was hitting! I’m driving home from work right now and I’m gonna make a b-line to my PlayStation! Thanks for everything and the heads up buddy!!
JWPrimetime if u get another added effect, slot it with hadies next to the added time. hit enemy, it slows down with crazy stat effects, hit em again he will freeze and get more effects.
Man...I think I spent like an extra 1/3 of my in-game play time looking at GameFAQS with this game. Gold Chocobo, Knights of the Round, Vincent, farming Master Tonberry's. 1997, what a time to be alive and gaming.
Undeniable classic! 20+ years later and it's one of my fave games ever. Had no idea it was brought to Xbox. Found it last night and downloaded immediately.
When I played this the first time I was like 14. It's definitely one of my favorites of all time. To breed a gold chocobo was hard. The Internet was less reliable in every sense so when I found a good breakdown I wrote it down on paper. It was like stereo directions but with trial and error I finally got it and it was the best of times. It gives me a lotta nostalgia.
Great video! I've played this game like 10 times over the years, and still did not know about the out of party exp gain being in the game. The ATB setting is almost like a difficulty setting too. You will over the course of the game, take a LOT more damage with it on active.
Thanks for this, I'm going back to play the og because I really never played it, I was like 10 when it came out so I only saw my babysitters son play it. FF1 is one of my favorite games and I hope this is like that :)
This is a REALLY well made video! Especially for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of subscribers (not intended to be mean at all!). Keep up the great work. I'm subbed!
Thanks man! I have finished the remake and i really wish to know whats going on on the story and the original game so i buy the original as well. So far i really enjoy this old one and your tips really helps me to know more about the mechanics of the game.
Thanks for the video. I first played it back in '97 & then again later over years, & I still get some extra story. But my tip is to fight against the midgar worm, having enemy materia on a character, to get the explosion attack. It can take most enemies down with one hit, & it's a nice animation. You need to be able to take 1200 damage & the party member with the materia, may not be thrown out of combat.
Hey am coming from 2021 , playing the original FF7 for the very first time ! Greatly appreciate this video of yours , it’s been very invaluable and helpful
Thanks for the video. I grew up on 8-bit and 16-bit systems and played a few JRPGs like Dragon Warrior and Chrono Trigger but couldn't get into the genre. I remember renting FF VII over a weekend and having the same, "It's cool, just not for me," feeling. I still wanted the action-platformer or arcade-esque experience I guess. I'm now using the Miyoo Mini + to go back and play some of the JRPGs I missed out on, mainly on PSone and SNES. Currently playing through Suikoden, FF VIII (which was my first real step into the genre), and FF VII. This is my 3rd time playing FF VII and this video definitely helped.
if u play on steam u can start big picture mode and confige the controller by going on the game u can even use configs others have made so the set up is really simple if u use this method.
I'm doing my first playthrough ever right now. I've played quite a few ff games. I'm excited to give it a go. Ty for this. I know the first playthrough is the best so I'm excited.
some other good steal items. The deanglow enemies (small flying Dragon looking enemies) in the train graveyard have ethers. apart from being no restoring items, They can be sold for a lot of money early The moth slasher at 8:00 has a great armour you to steal better than anything you can buy for a while. The soldier 3rd class in Shinra hq have a weapon for cloud you can fight them.I'm the floor with jenova and the floor you find red xiii. The sweepers at 6:40 have a weapon for barret...the ball and chain enemies in the mythril caves have a weapon for tifa and the flying enemies in junon forests have a weapon for yuffie.
i know this is coming in a few years late, but a good way to lvl up kills for unlocking limit brakes. Is actully in the Mythril Mine right after getting past the Midgar Zolom aka giant snake. All you need is to have acquired the Enemy skill Matra Magic from Custom Sweeper just outside of Midgar. And once your in the Mythril Mine run around and try and get into battles with Crawlers. You sometimes will get 5 crawlers in one battle. Matra Magic should 1 shot all of them. and Bamb instant +5 kills for getting a new limit brake. Thats only like 16 battles of just 5 crawlers for Barret And Aeris to get their Lvl 2 Limit brakes for instant. plus most battles there have 2-5 monsters per fight. So even without the 5 Crawlers your still building up lots of kills. And Matra Magic should take out almost all but 1 or 2 monsters from the other random encounters. So it would go really fast, can unlock the first limit brake for each lvl for all party members but 3 (Cait Sith, Sid, Vincent) before getting to Junon.
I'm playing through it all the way through for the first time ever because I bought it from the psn store on ps3 and was 3/4 way through the game and my save file got wiped because of my brother and his friends messing around with my ps3 while i was at work so i went and bought the game on my ps1 last year and within the last week have just started playing the game I'm enjoying the game so far I'm only and hour maybe 2 into the game just got to the 2nd bombing mission so i'm not obviously as far as i was but i would rather play the game on my original hardware my ps1 collection is huge especially my rpg side of my ps1 collection this video has helped me alot with what to expect and what too spend my time doing thank you for such an informative video and taking the time to put such a video together not just for beginners but also final fantasy 7 fans all around the world sincerely Matthew James Park.
The game, imo, really opens up when you get out of Midgar and finish the backstory in Kalm. I hope you continue to enjoy it and I'm sure by time you finish you'll realize that this video only touched on a few items because there is a lot of things to discover!
Amazing tutorial. I've played this game for 20 hours for the first time. I didn't see this because i just wanted to learn by myself and search for a complet tutorial after I get how to play. Amazing how this game is so big and, at least the parts that I passed and search on youtube to see the others point of view, there are a lot of things which even the oldest players didn't know... Edit: That is my first final fantasy game.
Thanks for the kind words, this game is massive and as you saw I only covered the opening hours; there is so much more! I hope you're enjoying the original FF7, if you are I would encourage you to go back in time and experience the older entries as well as continue to move onto FF8.
Fury Vs. Sadness. For many, Sadness is an easy status to pick; it reduces incoming damage, so it seems like a no-brainer. However, there's more to this status than just that. While it does reduce incoming damage, it also reduces how much limit gauge you gain per point of damage taken. Fury, by contrast, makes you hit less often but earn limit faster. The thing that differentiates each character from one another is the limit system, and each character has different limits that are more or less important to see. Sadness, with it's unmatched ability to hamper limit growth, can make it so certain strategies are actually harder to pull off.
i’ve never played a final fantasy before because of how intimidating the battle system is. thank you so much for making me feel like i can figure it out.
Didn't know about the striking staff, there is also a couple of items you should steal on lvl 68 shinra building. Carbon bangle and hardedge. I got them but missed the enemy skill so going to do a new playthrough.
Thanks for these tips, recently bought this and 9 on xbox to play as recommended by my mate. I'm not to great at turn based with all the stats, effects etc so worried about not being able to complete it lol, heres hoping I can. good video

@@pliablebones I'm envious, I wish I could go back and experience it for the first time. I hope you'll come back to share your thoughts when you're done.
8:03 Back attack does the following: -you start with 0 ATB -enemy starts with full ATB -if hit with a physical attack before turning around you take double damage And yes, it messes up your positioning
I'm fairly certain the spinning around during a back attack is just a glitch and strictly cosmetic. You'll take double damage from the first attack regardless. Can you point to a source that suggests otherwise?
Buy grenades whenever you can in Midgar. As many as you can carry. They do limit break damage. Steal ethers in the train graveyard that sell for 750 gil each.
Steal Hardedge from soldier 3rd class in Hojos lab where Jenova broke out. Right by that save point. Also steal carbon bangle from the moth slashers (those enemies floating on the spike balls.)
When I was on a Limit Break that I needed to use several times to get to the next, I would go outside Nibelheim and manipulate Valrons (they look kind of like a xenomorph with wings) and use it to hit the character whose Limit I wanted to use. It does a percentage of max HP so you can fill up a limit gauge REALLY fast, especially if you have Fury status.
It blows my mind that people know so much about games like this. I dont even know what's going on 😂 Game seems like it would be great once i get it, but JRPGs always overwhelm me. Really want to get into this game though so im gonna try.
For the final battle don't use any summons give cloud 2 couter/mime with double cut give cid 2 counter attack and a double cut and barett gets a mime and enemy skill matera and you will wash separoth in no time no hero drinks or anything
1:15 setting the cursor mode to "memory" is the first thing i do in any FF that supports it...makes battles MUCH less tedious, because most of the time your characters will each be doing the same thing every turn anyway
Im not sure if you knew when you did this vid, but there is a Nintendo Switch version! Im playing the switch version now. Because of my schedule, im trying to be an on the go gamer. No need to. Materia can always be found and moved through the 'exchange' menu screen. Equipment on the other hand should be unequipped before a certain point if it is something you want to keep.
Man, thank you so much for this video of yours, I started playing this marvel yesterday but unfortunately the game doesn't explain almost anything to you. thank you again. it's all very clear, I just didn't understand how AP points for materie work, how they are earned and how they are leveled? Someone can help me?
AP is earned from battles and it applies to the materia that you have a equipped to each character. As the quality of the materia improves you can unlock better versions of the materia or more uses for it.
When you go to Cosmo Canyon to fight against the GI Tribe, when you get to the boss fight against GI Natak you can end the fight in 10 seconds - just throw him with X-Potion, since he is a undead type it will deduct his whole life bar instead of filling it up
This works for any undead enemy as well, and this carries over to other FF games such as one of the encounters with Evrae in FFX. Thanks for sharing, this was on my list of tips should I ever make a follow up to this video.
Using the W Item materia you are able to increase your number of megalixirs. I used it so I would have 99 of them and then went after each of the weapons.
Yeah, I could do another video on more advanced tips like materia combinations, what enemy skills you should acquire, how to win every time when racing Chocobo's... just so much content in this game. :)
@@FrocketGaming I was never able to successfully breed the right chocobo. I can't remember how I managed to get the correct chocobo to get Knights of the round materia but I did manage to get it and finish the game.
Hm correct me if I'm wrong but actually run glitch for back attack makes no difference in terms of receiving damage. The only thing that changes are strictly visual. I've tested it a moment ago, and with that glitch characters receiving same high damage with back attack as without that glitch.
The glitch itself (turning around) is just cosmetic, yes. Back attacks change the row order of your party, that's the function of back attacks. I stated that ultimately for back attacks that is the only thing that changes. I'm sorry if the way I worded it seemed confusing or like I was suggesting something else.
Question: I have the Playstation 4 Remastered edition. Does the Magic defense and spirit glitch still apply or is it like the Pc Re-release where they patched it?
That's a good question! I did some digging and it looks like they've fixed it on the other console versions so I think it's safe to assume it is fixed on this version too!

i had the issue over the years of the memory card corrupting well into the game most 50+hrs 4-5 different times on the ps1. recently remembered that i had a ps2 and tried playing only to find out i needed a ps1 memory card lol took a few days and 3 different stores but i found one. for now this video was supper helpful as well as 2 different walkthroughs im 18 hrs in..lvl 27 clouds already maxed out on his limit break to this point(set 3) and already went to kalm and now trying to get a chocobo to learn chocobuckle before learning beta from the big snake at the end of this video \m/(^-^)
Bro I really appreciate u. You legit held my hand throughout the game😂
when you get to higher levels the materia combos really shine.
Certainly a lot of fantastic options and setups for later. The combos could be a video on its own without a doubt.
Yeah I considered this tip for a part 2 video because this game is massive and I had to leave out a ton of content.
@@FrocketGaming Dooooo eeeeeet!
you can fight midgar salom the first time (giant snake), just be sure your characters have enemy skill on before entering, you only need to enter in sad mode, this allows you to resist better physical damage, all your party members on the back row, poison it with cloud or aeris, wait/defend all the time except to heal and / or if MS drops out of poison in which case you have to poison it again, and keep defending and only attack if you reach a limit brake. if you are lucky he will use Beta ES, if you learn it you'll have a powerful enemy skill who can one shot any enemy or group of enemies at a expense of miserable 20 MP, if i recall correctly, pretty early in the game.
this was a really good video, im trying the original ffvii for the first time
"Quite possibly the greatest game ever made."
-Gamefan
Still holds true.
I'm not done yet but so far I'm really enjoying it. The filler missions get kind of cheesy but it's amazing to see the characters flashed out.
Sold me the game as a 12yr old kid who had never played any RPG
im going to add some more tips.
Thanks for sharing!
This myth. Fury doesn't increase the damage you take, it increases your chances to miss attacks by 30%.
when at shinra HQ, the hojo laboratory level (same floor that has cells the party is put in) in the hall south of the cells there is an enemy encounter.
"Soldier 3rd class" (you must do this before meeting hojo. since jenova changes things)
you can obtain the Hardedge by stealing from them.
a Cloud weapon which will still be his best even at Nanikis village.
Great video I haven’t played that much of final fantasy but now I will.
I started playing FF7 OG yesterday. This video helped me understand a lot about the game mechanics. Thank you!
Let me know how you feel about the game as you progress!
The cover tip for increasing the number of times a particular character is hit to increase their limit gauge is great. I'm trying to get everyone's L4 limits so I will definitely use this one. Another tip is to inflict fury upon them by giving them a hyper; their limit gauge will fill quicker.
This video was amazing. Getting to the end of my remake run and want to go back to this again so this was super helpful
I appreciate the kind words!
If you hadn't already seen it... the FF7 Remake demo finally hit the Playstation Store today.
FrocketGaming shit I was wondering when the demo was hitting! I’m driving home from work right now and I’m gonna make a b-line to my PlayStation! Thanks for everything and the heads up buddy!!
Added effect materia and time. Fun stuff.
anonymous 765 ooh I have tried that but will today!!
It has so much goodness to offer. I'll always view it as a classic.
Always something great to learn in this game.
Thanks for this, I'm going back to play the og because I really never played it, I was like 10 when it came out so I only saw my babysitters son play it. FF1 is one of my favorite games and I hope this is like that :)
I hope you thoroughly enjoy it!
This video is exactly what I needed! Thank you for creating it, great job!
You’re very well spoken and do a wonderful job explaining everything. Subscribed.
I appreciate the kind words!
@@FrocketGaming You definitely deserve it. I hope your channel gets more recognition.
This is a REALLY well made video! Especially for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of subscribers (not intended to be mean at all!). Keep up the great work. I'm subbed!
Glad you enjoyed it, it was a labor of love. haha :)
Thanks man! I have finished the remake and i really wish to know whats going on on the story and the original game so i buy the original as well. So far i really enjoy this old one and your tips really helps me to know more about the mechanics of the game.
Thanks for the kind words - I hope you enjoy the original!
Great video for beginners, probably the only thing I also recommend would be getting enemy skills as early as possible because they are broken
I agree, if I were to make a part 2 I would include the various enemy skills that are worth getting early on; such a Big Guard.
"Save Jessie"
*startssobbing* Yes. "Save" Jessie. *breaksdownstartscrying*
Dang think you got me on the right track for the second half. Wish me luck!
If this is your first time playing FF7; I hope you love it.
I envy you, I wish I could experience FF7 for the first time again! I hope you enjoy it.
Imo, you just need to make it past Midgar and the Kalm section of the game before it really opens up and gets enjoyable. :)
Very good guide for beginners, I'd recommend it :)
if u play on steam u can start big picture mode and confige the controller by going on the game u can even use configs others have made so the set up is really simple if u use this method.
I'm doing my first playthrough ever right now. I've played quite a few ff games. I'm excited to give it a go. Ty for this. I know the first playthrough is the best so I'm excited.
some other good steal items.
The deanglow enemies (small flying Dragon looking enemies) in the train graveyard have ethers. apart from being no restoring items, They can be sold for a lot of money early
The moth slasher at 8:00 has a great armour you to steal better than anything you can buy for a while.
I will be putting this video in my watch later playlist. Thanks man!
Hope you find something in it useful!
Ty for your amazing vid. This was tremendously well done. Bravo. Easy to follow, well explained and the stats etc. Bravo
Thanks so much for the kind words. This video was a labor of love for me. :)
I’m new to this game , thank you sir
Hope you thoroughly enjoy it!
i know this is coming in a few years late, but a good way to lvl up kills for unlocking limit brakes.
Truly a masterpiece of a game and story!
I hope you continue to enjoy it and I'm sure by time you finish you'll realize that this video only touched on a few items because there is a lot of things to discover!
playing for the first time in 2021, thanks for this!!!! so helpful
I hope you thoroughly enjoy it. I wish I could re-experience it for the first time.
Equipping the cover materia to increase my limit break gauge never occurred to me. I played it on the PC. Thank you for the tip.
FINALLY! Someone else who understands that ATB is not "turn-based" combat. I always feel like I'm screaming at a wall when I try to tell people that.
Great video. I've played the game a few times, but I learned things I didn't know. Amazingly produced video.
I appreciate the kind words, it was a labor of love.
There are also triple growth weapons
Just started for the first time thank u man
Fury Vs.
Fury for life
Best game EVER made..IMHO
Played for 20 years, watches basics again. I'll be honest, I forgot some of this!
i’ve never played a final fantasy before because of how intimidating the battle system is. thank you so much for making me feel like i can figure it out.
You've got this, dive right in. I hope you love it.
Didn't know about the striking staff, there is also a couple of items you should steal on lvl 68 shinra building. Carbon bangle and hardedge. I got them but missed the enemy skill so going to do a new playthrough.
Subscribed after first 30 seconds. I had to edit my comment to say great video bro.
Very kind of you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
no skip because im gonna play ffvii on my phone (emulator: epsxe) and im gonna watch this because im ready to go play ffvii game
Thanks for these tips, recently bought this and 9 on xbox to play as recommended by my mate. I'm not to great at turn based with all the stats, effects etc so worried about not being able to complete it lol, heres hoping I can. good video

I appreciate the kind words - I'll have to do some digging and see if I can get the details on that song for you.

Back attack does the following:
-you start with 0 ATB
-enemy starts with full ATB
-if hit with a physical attack before turning around you take double damage
And yes, it messes up your positioning
I'm fairly certain the spinning around during a back attack is just a glitch and strictly cosmetic. You'll take double damage from the first attack regardless. Can you point to a source that suggests otherwise?
Also my favorite game of all time. Im playing it on ps4 after having the original on ps1. I cant wait to breed another gold chocobo
Buy grenades whenever you can in Midgar. As many as you can carry. They do limit break damage. Steal ethers in the train graveyard that sell for 750 gil each.
Deserves way more subs nice job
Steal Hardedge from soldier 3rd class in Hojos lab where Jenova broke out. Right by that save point. Also steal carbon bangle from the moth slashers (those enemies floating on the spike balls.)
When I was on a Limit Break that I needed to use several times to get to the next, I would go outside Nibelheim and manipulate Valrons (they look kind of like a xenomorph with wings) and use it to hit the character whose Limit I wanted to use. It does a percentage of max HP so you can fill up a limit gauge REALLY fast, especially if you have Fury status.
I use to always do SkeeSkee's in the Cosmo Canyon area. They drop hypers and their rage bomber attack always did a great job boosting limit bars.
@@FrocketGaming I just started a new playthrough yesterday. I'll have to try them out this time around.

Ff7 is the single greatest game ever, thanks so much
For the final battle don't use any summons give cloud 2 couter/mime with double cut give cid 2 counter attack and a double cut and barett gets a mime and enemy skill matera and you will wash separoth in no time no hero drinks or anything
1:15 setting the cursor mode to "memory" is the first thing i do in any FF that supports it...makes battles MUCH less tedious, because most of the time your characters will each be doing the same thing every turn anyway
I've never really messed with it myself but as I thought about it... yeah, I could see the value in it.
Im not sure if you knew when you did this vid, but there is a Nintendo Switch version! Im playing the switch version now. Because of my schedule, im trying to be an on the go gamer. What about making sure to remove materia off aeris before a certain spot?
No need to. Materia can always be found and moved through the 'exchange' menu screen. Equipment on the other hand should be unequipped before a certain point if it is something you want to keep.
Plz make a part 2, to this video

Someone can help me?
AP is earned from battles and it applies to the materia that you have a equipped to each character. As the quality of the materia improves you can unlock better versions of the materia or more uses for it.
wish i saw this before playing cus i really could of done with the striking staff
@@FrocketGaming yeah, I understood you incorrectly then :)
The time spent getting the Beta enemy skill from the snake is better than the time spent getting a chocobo
Question:
I have the Playstation 4 Remastered edition. Does the Magic defense and spirit glitch still apply or is it like the Pc Re-release where they patched it?
That's a good question! I did some digging and it looks like they've fixed it on the other console versions so I think it's safe to assume it is fixed on this version too!
Great video actually learned stuff I didn't know.
