Lucky enough to snag a Prime deal on a Vader 3 Pro yesterday for $65, have it in hand this morning. Able to get the polling rate to 500hz wired and wireless using your overclocking guide - typically use Aim Dualsense Controllers but this will be super fun to mess around with, especially at this price point.
Mad props to you dude - you do great work and I recommend you to literally anyone that wants to get into custom/pro controllers!

Personally, the only time I've had controllers die is my old PS1/2 controllers. Before I knew what I was doing, we'd wrap the cables tight around the controller when we put them away. As I got older and more technically savvy, I realized that was a bad thing. My last PS2 controllers (2 OEM Sony and 2 Pelican Chameleon) still worked after they'd been passed on to my little sister by the mid-2000's, and she took good care of them. My oldest controller still in my possession is a Dualshock 3 in digital camo that my wife got me for Valentines day about 12 years ago. Still looks like it came out of the box.

I feel like that type of video would greatly help new gamers and those who haven't had time to test gamepads/controllers. Currently, my favorite controller is the wired Logitech one. I got 2 for $5 at Goodwill, and they greatly outperformed the xbox controller im currently using. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the video idea and the controller. (Great video btw).

Biggest initial purchase I've ever made was 70 bucks for a controller. Most have ended up spending on a single controller was I think about 110. It was a dual sense 5 Base. And after a few months I ended up getting a back pedal kit for it for about 40 bucks.

  • @jorgiewtf
    @jorgiewtf 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The most I feel comfortable spending on a controller is about $200 (give or take $20). I’ve had my Elite series 2 since the day it came out and it probably at this point has thousands of hours played and yet no stick drift. I play all kinds of games. I was actually about to pull the trigger (pun intended) on the Turtle Beach Stealth but 1) I can instantly tell just by looking at it that I hate how they made the back buttons flushed with the back of the controller and 2) no replaceable thumbsticks and 3) there is absolutely no integration with my new Turtle Beach Pro headsets. If they at least gave me a way to control volume/mute and noise cancellation I would have dealt with the back buttons and thumbsticks. I thought for sure this would be a thing since they both basically came out at the same time but it was a huge missed opportunity to create a cool turtle beach ecosystem, in my opinion. I would happily trade that dumb social media screen on it for those actual useful features. At this point, I’m just gonna wait for the series 3 which I can’t imagine will not come with Hall effect sticks and hopefully mechanical clicky buttons.

People who say they don't have stick drift or it's a myth etc have very large default built in dead zones AND/OR only play 2hrs a day a couple times per week. If you use low or no deadzone and put in 6hr+ sessions regularly you're gonna roast any controller even a hall effect one. T4 Kaleid sticks lasted the longest for me so far but they get drifty and "recalibrating" doesn't reeeeally fix it that just tweaks the sensitivity to stop the drifting effect at the cost of precision.

I had no idea you were in Canada 🇨🇦, I don’t think you mentioned it before. Gamesir to the rescue after expensive controllers let you down is a very common trend here at GH. Honestly FlyDigi and Gamesir have taken a lot of unhappy elite 2 owners to greener pastures. I almost feel like a freakin lunatic with my elite still working but I know one day…something will break 😒at which point I’ll probably try to fix it myself because of the sentimental value. Life of a controller stallion/stallionette, you get it lol. Enjoy your current pair and I hope they last!

@@GamerHeavenOfficial I'm not sure if I mentioned I was in Canada previously, but yes you are reaching across the border. Some of that reach-around action hahaha.
GameSir is decent, I think I like the G7 more than the T4, only because I found the app total garbagio. Yes, I got the app installed and working on my PC, and not my phone.
You can get it, but it is a Chore to find it.
Binding the buttons to the rear paddles really are a pain, glad I only did it once. No documentation, had to google it, yah big deal, still it's the small things that get noticed. I have to go launch my game, enter Firing Range, then, do my bindings.
Fun fact, I did drop my G7, no issue, no damage-except the face plate flew off. I did panic for abit, good thing it was wearing brown pants. I put the cover back on, and it snapped into place..I only realized sometime after that it's a freaking magnetic front plate.
It's neat that you can repair and customize your controllers. That is why I am staying in my lane, and will just shop out the best banger for my sheckles.
I do enjoy my pair, -pun intended.
Going to squad up on Apex and continue to put these GameSirs through their respected paces.
Thanks again for the reviews, and attention to detail.

It's excellent. The only possible downsides I can think of is that the magnetic faceplate and rear buttons (when locked) are still a bit loose and can squeak if you squeeze hard. I've had... not great luck with controllers I'll be honest, significantly better luck with controllers over on the Sony side of things (as far as first party is concerned). After going through around 4 to 5 Xbox controllers, and 2 Elite Series 2 at this point, I swapped to a PS4 controller and had 0 issues, which doesn't make much sense. I did get a PS5 controller eventually because it was newer, and unfortunately got stick drift after about a year of constant use (talking 8+ hours per day of gaming).
I've had much better mileage with third party controllers in my life vs first party, grabbed a Razer Wolverine Ultimate and a Flydigi Vader 3 Pro, both of which are doing great. The razer is used for when I need to press buttons really fast because of how quick and easy those mechanical buttons are to press, while the Vader 3 Pro is used for generally everything else.
I will admit I am a speedrunner, so my controllers are sent around the block a fair bit more than a controller would in the hand of a regular consumer. I also need absolute input precision, which is actually a reason why I abandoned my most recent elite series 2 controller: sometimes my inputs would just not get sent to my PC (I only play wired by personal preference, no chance of interference here), only a day after getting it. Got it on recording, checked input displays, and decided to leave behind microsoft controllers after that. Maybe I'll go back one day, but I want my controller to controller.
Games and equipment also tend to bug out and break when I touch them, so perhaps all of this is just a me issue. I have friends that can play games with no problems, yet I touch the same game on the same setup and something catastrophic will happen. No rage in sight, and also surprisingly no stick drift on most of the controllers I've given up on. Meanwhile I get controller overheating issues (on the back behind the left analog stick, surprisingly), triggers and analog sticks getting digitally swapped, inputs not being sent in the order I pressed them in, seconds of wireless delay (after the wired port on the controller stopped working), and in one case the A button getting stuck. You'd think the constant in all of these would be me, but for some reason only the official MIcrosoft controllers are the ones with these problems. Third party, PS4, and PS5 controllers are still going strong.

The most I could spend on a controller is like $150 maybe $200 if it was something just absolutely incredible with an awesome warranty that would last me atleast 5 years for a console I play a ton of.
Which now having 2 kids under the age of 7 i dont game anywhere close to what i used to and when i do game it's mostly via the Switch in handheld so i bought a Nitro Deck/dock recently and love that and just got an Odin 2 so handheld is like 85% of the gaming i do now.
But i feel like $150-200 is the absolute highest I could justify for the Xbox series X or PS5 because when i see $300 for a controller in my head thats equal to damn near what an entire console costs and I cant justify that.
300+ tax and you can buy a switch oled or probably a used/refurbished PS5 or Xbox or even a nice GPU.
That being said if I was younger and had more free time and was able to play for like 10+hours a week then I could definitely see a quality pro controller thats more costly being worth it.
So I guess to summarize the rambling $150 is the most I can spend currently due to limited gaming time but I totally understand why others spend more if they are able to put in more hours as a great controller absolutely does make a big difference so im not some ignant village idiot that is just a hater as I truly get it. If i was able to game more Id definitely be ok spending more

About $200-250 is the max i'm willing to spend. I have an elite series 2 that I love for the most part but I think I want to switch/upgrade to a PS based controller, or something that I can overclock to reduce the input latency, and has HE sticks. I also have a gamesir kalied, which I liked at first, but stopped using as I mostly play fps and it lacks trigger stops to cut out the trigger takeup.
The thing is none of the other controllers out there seem to do rear buttons/paddles as well as the elite series 2, they are PERFECT, IMO. Was excited for the Flydigi vader whatever, but then saw the rear buttons, and...nope. Some of the controllers that have rear button designs that seem like they would be good (like the simple round buttons sunken into the grips hypr/cinch use) also have/lack other deal breakers.
HE sticks, 4 rear buttons/paddles ES2 style, 1-2ms input latency, swappable thumbsticks and/or kontrolfreeks compatability, mehcanical face buttons, 3way trigger stops for ~$200 is the dream.

Im in a controller rabbit hole now that I received my first Xbox elite 2 controller, and had to send it back due to being defective.
For the price i expected a certain level of quality. But I still feel grossed out by just how insultingly cheap that thing felt. I'm not even kidding. It's gross.
I loved my Razer wolverine v2 out of the box. But the analog sticks literally crumbled apart after a year. The dpad started making double/triple inputs which vs my muscle memory made navigating menus a psychological torture.
No replacement parts are available for this controller
So I thought hey Xbox should be good right? I mean, they're a big company. WOW what a piece of crap
Hopefully the store will refund me instead of sending me back an xbox controller. I am 100% going to sell it. Not even going to open the box. Holy shit.
Let's see how the Gulikit kk3 is which arrives today.
And I'll also get that Playdigi Elite 4
I really want to know.. who makes an actual QUALITY controller? Why is everyone spending money on fancy looking trash plastic parts? The xbox controller had this disgusting metallic sheen on their garbage plastic parts
    Ugh man, fuck ..
