I play on ps5. This is how enjoyable your videos are. I just sat through 51 minutes of a breakdown of 3 controllers I’ll never use, just so I could enjoy a video of yours.
@@Exrimordonaj the series 2 must still be selling well. Im thinking maybe next year we might get something. This year they are making an improved standard controller I think, so I ended up just making a custom elite 2 from xbox design lab
We unboxed 18 elite 2s at best buy and every controller had stick freeplay out the box. The largest return the store had ever processed. Wish I had recorded it.
i did something similar, went to stores and tried as many they would let me open. moderate to SEVERE stick wiggle on every single one. i still almost cant believe how shitty the sticks are. whats weird is most people using it dont even seem to notice. they only notice when the sticks get bad enough to give them drift outside of the mechanical deadzone (the point it becomes directly noticable in-game)
@@livegoer182I think it’s directly connected with customisable sticks tension. With the second level of tension right stick feels way better than basic controller with no wiggle at all.
Had the elite 1, it was perfect, i used to play bo3 cracked out, so I would have noticed if there was an input or stick issue, ended up selling it in amazing condition to a happy buyer
Man, preordered the Turtle Beach via best buy and got it at launch. As someone who's gone through 3 elite controllers, I freaking love this controller. Those analog sticks are a game changer. I'm aware of other options but this one just feels amazing on hand. The Tb software - at least the Xbox app - is atrocious. But i love the fact that you can access all of those settings on the controller itself. I really dislike the caps and miss the thumbstick options of the elite series but after awhile, I just got used to the standard sticks on The TB. I play Apex a lot and finally switched to the 'linear' setting (which i found just impossible to use on the elite) and it's just amazing. It's not the perfect controller and has much room for improvement but so far I feel like this is the best purchase I've made so far! Really loving it so far!
Sadly I too bought one and sfter 3 months 1. Grinding from right stick (friction ring fsiling 2. Randomly shuts down mid game 3. Left trigger actuating itself all the time 4. D pad constantly moving down, even though it worked fine in the onboard screen I hope you have better luck than me (and an increasingly large amount of other pissed off owners)
@@garyfawcett5225 Wow! Sorry to hear that. Have you considered exchanging for a new one? Seems like you may still be in the warranty window and should have that problem resolved. I guess I did luck out. Mine is still working perfectly since launch.
I am so happy with my TB stealth ultra. Stick drift on my Elite 2 was fucking ridiculous. Love everything about the stealth ultra, most responsive controller I've ever owned
@@pianovoix hi. I’m still very pleased with the controller. There’s lots to like about the controller. I quickly got used to the 4 back buttons and it’s ergonomic. Two things minor annoyances are the left stick friction ring has slightly worn - Does not affect performance but it is not as smooth as the right stick. Also, I have turned down in game dead zone to under 5 and I do get occasional stick drift. This happens when being smooth and gentle with movement. If I let go of the stick the drift stops. Despite this, I prefer very low dead zones to make movement more responsive. Hope that helps…
Spiked my elite 1 after the bumper stopped registering after 8 months. Elite 1 white edition wouldn’t stay on after about 3-4 months. Elite 2 back paddle got soft and stopped working after about 8 months and by then the left stick was destroyed. I’ve had a scud instinct for almost a year now no issues. Also have a WolverineV2chroma amazing sticks durability and accuracy wise
My rankings for the controllers I’m currently using. 1. stealth ultra took a little getting used to but damn it’s so good playing Warzone with. 2. Scuff Envision Pro such a good controller and the software it comes with lets you customize the shit out of it. 3. Elite it’s a perfect Xbox controller but I’m on my third one since 2019 4. Dual sense edge solid controller but those two back buttons hold it back for me. 5. Razer so fucking big it makes my hands cramp after a while but it’s probably the best controller out for people with big hands.
Love the comparison review here. I am very interested in the Turtle Beach because I am one of those people who has had bad luck with the Elite series. But the first reviews on Amazon and BB have me nervous about the QC on the Ultra, lot of d pad issues, and the wear on the sticks is concerning, I had that issue on my Power A pro
First party controllers are almost always going to have better quality control and use the highest quality parts. TH-camrs are probably just getting sent hand picked samples from manufacturers for review and have no idea how to discern the quality of components as they have never read a spec sheet in their life. Things like looks/features/feel are all valid reasons to choose a 3rd party controller, but not quality.
I just got an Elite Series 2 from a pawn shop for $80 bucks. So far it works perfectly with no issues. So we'll see how long it lasts. Hopefully I don't have any issues with it decided after a long time if debating on wether or not to get to one to take the plunge ended up seeing one at a pawn shop for cheap and went for it.
well it depends on how urgent u need it, if u need it urgent I would go for it but if u can wait (can take like up to a year still) I'd wait for the elite 3
I just hope they add something meaningful to the elite 3. I’ve broken 4 elite series 2/core controllers. It’s always the bumpers going out for me. I’m going to try the turtle beach because of the mechanical buttons on the bumpers. My right bumper lasts max 6 months on every elite controller. DBD just kills controllers I guess
Dude, your videos have been very helpful to my quest in finding the most appropriate controller to use for driving/racing sims which I am a beginner. I have used controllers 20 years ago and haven't used them since transitioning to PC gaming using the MNK exclusively. I realized that so much has changed since I used the original Xbox controller and very grateful to someone you to review/test new tech for us. I ordered the TM eSwap XR today after seeing your video review on it. Thank you.
I used the Turtle Beach for about a week. Maybe 5-6 hours total. Although I liked it a lot (especially after they added the ability to map R3 and L3 to the back buttons) I ended up returning it. As I was playing, the left stick seemed to feel like it was "grinding" when it was pushed up all the way and rotated left or right. (walking forward and strafing left and right) After closer inspection I realized the grinding feeling I was experiencing was the fact that the thumb stick had ring shaped gouges along the plastic from rubbing along the anti-friction rings. Clearly the rings aren't soft enough or the plastic on the thumb stick is too soft. Either way, I think this is a huge design flaw. I shouldn't have permanent damage on the thumb sticks after only a few hours of use especially on a $200 controller. I have since found a bunch of reviews with people stating they experienced the exact same thing. Not sure if it's a QC issue or an actual hardware design issue, but it had to be sent back. Back to the Scuf for me until Turtle Beach acknowledges this and makes it better. Has anyone else noticed scratches on their thumb sticks leading to a not so smooth rotation when gliding on the anti-friction rings?
Same with left stick. Really disappointing that it has happened so fast and its not like you can replace the faceplate. Im considering returning it as well but its not game breaking but certainly devalues the $200 price point
There is no way you didn't like a controller because the left joystick felt uncomfortable at full lock, like everything felt insane but you moved your joystick after a couple of hours and you were displeased, lmao. That is sooooo picky that's unreal 😂
@@kylegibson5933 I 100% returned it because of this. It wasn't about feeling uncomfortable. It's a $200 controller and shouldn't have gouges in the plastic after a few hours of use. They used shitty plastics. That's why I returned it. 🙂
Is there reddit or tb related threads mentioning this issue? I'm on the fence, my unit is flawless besides this stick fatigue. Also after couple hrs playing noticed more friction on left stick with full lock circular, particuraly during calibration. I really want a keeper as all other aspect seems superior but i don't want to reach the point my top notch controller had the the stick sawn in half and broken like a match especially after warranty and with no replaceable stick. If the were easy to swap no problem. I'm wondering if everybody has the issue but no so many are so nitpicky or we have bad QC units. Maybe a reddit topis with a poll? Maybe there're be rewamped fixed version 2.0 launch in near future which i definetely would buy
Great video! Really appreciate the hard work. I went with the TB and I'm liking it. A big thing is the profiles which you can name for each game. Then that's displayed clearly. Now I'm no longer getting confused with my weird leftie mapped controls that are different for each game. The PC software is a bit weird and took me a while to sort out. Looks good but it eschews sensible interface practices. For example you have to save the profile onto a memory slot once you change anything. And the B button doesn't seem to work but hey just use the mouse if needed. Oh and the app is full-screen only with no min/max/close buttons. Other than that it's a winner so far. My Elite Core 2 stick failed a second time so I'm one of those people who'll never buy an Elite again.
Update to this? Wanted to get the TB, but someone commented on another video I watched said they had stick drift after only 1 month. I'm hoping that it was a one-off thing.
@@pianovoix no, because I just keep seeing more of those posts about sticks/rings gouging material out. You might get lucky an not have that issue, but the amount of posts that had the issue vs. the ones that didn't were too towards the negative for me to jump on the purchase. I'd wait a few more months and browse fourms about it to see it's resolved later, if not I'm probably getting an xbox elite series 3 when they arrive, as it seems to be right around the corner for a reveal.
Hope valve release their own pro controller that has 4 rear buttons built in the same way as the steam deck itself cos nothing has been more comfortable than that absolute beast steam controller 2 please for the love of god
This video restored my faith in the Ultra controller, mines currently being RMA'd as it couldn't (as do many other Ultras) hit the diagonal menus in Baldurs Gate 3... Honestly, so many horror stories appearing on reddit with the controller, I was all but set on returning it for a refund when the new unit arrives but I'll stick with it after seeing these numbers. Everything from coil whine / burning, not working in BG3 (my issue +6 others reported same on reddit), disconnection issues, rough sticks, glitchy firmware. But, fingers crossed it was just a bad batch of controllers, the grinding people report on the sticks is also a thing but I did find just wiping the stem of sticks with a bit of cloth removed alot of dust that obviously built up in play which definitely resulted in it being smoother but yea, for sure something isn't up to par (at least on my unit) on the sticks smoothness after a day or so of use... makes it on par stick feel wise with the Standard controller rather than the Elite as it should be.
I've had these controllers at least once (2 elites, both broke within a year) and the others either sold or returned. The best controller I've had is the razer controller. I had 2 of the 1 gen and on my second v2 chroma! Definitely the best option for competitive gamers where all the buttons are like the pc mouse click literally instant!
Just bought a instinct pro and from personally using other pro controllers i find this is the best one despite the higher than normal price. Did come with 1 year warranty instead of 6 months which is nice
Love my TB Ultra. I feel like the battery is closer to 6-8hrs, but it’s not a big deal to me bc I just throw it on the dock at night and I’m good to go. There’s also the Pro Aim option to lower the sensitivity that’s mappable which I like to use as a snipe button. Love the Envision Pro on PC. Hated the Elite 2 bc I had it for maybe 6 months before both sticks started drifting on a $200+ controller. Solid video as always Captain 🫡
Thank you for sharing my friend, the battery life is supposed to be 30 hours, with 2 to 3 hours of fast charge time. If you’re only getting 6 to 8 hours you should return that defective unit and get a new one
I got 6-8 hours on mines as well with the setting "Full" on the power mode. I'm currently using "Eco" and 2 bars left after around 10 hours still testing though. Do you know if the power mode changes the polling rate? @@GamerHeavenOfficial
Scuf has always been great quality with the best features. All of my scuf controllers dating back to the 360 days still work as new. Got a Elite 2 a few months ago and I’m already seeing stick drift
The only problem I have with the Turtle Beach stealth ultra, is the back button is so close to the left thumbstick, while playing a game like destiny 2 trying to quickly utilize the button i have hit the thumbstick and moved the character, havent died because of it in game but something to beware of, I did buy the scuf instinct pro because of your reviews both controllers are amazing. Thanks for the videos.
I know you were showing these as Xbox controllers, but I want to mention that the Elite Series 2 is recognized in Steam Input. If the controller is in its 'default' profile it is possible to use Steam Input to bind the paddles that way. Not sure if the Scuf in recognized, and the Turtle doesn't need that since it can rebind via the screen.
The fourth option and in my case the best one i've had so far is just customizing your controller with extreme rate's parts I installed on mine a new shell new buttons, the remapable back buttons and also they clicky hair triggers and it is still cheaper than the cheapest of those three controllers
Just got the stealth and wow. Been using elite controllers for a long time now, the stealth is definitely and upgrade. So repsonsive, clicks feel great and it just looks so damn good. I dont like TB products normally, but they rocked this one in my opinion.
Great stuff. Nice to see them paired up in a meaningful way and thanks for unlocking your brain at the end for an unfiltered conclusion. Still waiting for a seller in the Netherlands to actually have the Ultra in stock.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial okay, ordered one, but sadly had to return it. Battery life was awful, but another thing that bugged me was build quality: holding down on the directional pad locked it in place, preventing a roll to the right, the anti friction ring on the left stick wore down significantly in a few hours, and the display slanted to the right bottom. A real dissapointment for that price.
Brilliant video, we appreciate all the hard work you put into your research. I haven't tried the TB Stealth Ultra. I used the TB Recon, and it was so-so. I have the Elite 2, I liked the gripping surface, and non-slip is great, but it is heavy. edit- After less than 6 months developed stick drift. I haven't tried the Scuf Instinct Pro, as I am A) Going through the reviews carefully, and B) It's a money thing at the moment. Great review as always, the Controller Captain outfit works on you-maybe it could be your signature? Just a thought.
@@pianovoix held the thumbsticks in each direction, and loaded it with 99% rubbing alcohol on a q tip. Let it dry, then do the same thing again, but used dielectric grease. I did not disassemble the controller, as I don;t have the skill, tools, or patience for it. If all fails, then I simply replace. Still happy with the GameSir G7.
still love my Scuf Reflex, better grip and feel than the Elite Series 2 and no more broke bumpers.. I had to send my scuf in at the 11 month mark for stick drift but I also play for several hours every day
Thanks for the video. Still cant believe the TB doesn't have swappable sticks, stick tension or back grips, but the sticks hall effect sold it for me. Wish it were a bit heavier as well, but a great controller thus far.
I do enjoy the Elite Series 2 controller, but I agree that QC definitely needs some improvement (ESPECIALLY with the Core controller). Contemplating getting a TB Stealth Ultra due to your recommendation alone.
I have been equally as fortunate with my Elite Series 2. I am still on my original and have not had any stick drift with my Elite Series 2. After a year plus of consistent usage. I also have been using the Stealth Ultra for the past week and for the most part has been a very nice controller with the exception of the one time I lost connection in the middle of a session in COD MW3.
you a lucky one. i have my third elite 2 now. first one worked the longest, but then, stick drift. second one worked for a year, suddenly LB stopped working. now i had one made with my own prefered colors, and not even 6 months in, and my A button does the same thing my LB button did. probably going to go with the stealth ultra, and send my elite 2 in for repair, so that i have two controllers. in style, nothing beats the elite.
also, hoborable mention, the PS5 edge literally gives me tennis pinkys. that horrible controller hurts me. but it plays pretty well. oh, and my elite series 1 ran until i fingered trough all my analog rubbers. threw it away cause it was gnawed trough.
Had to return my Turtle Beach Ultra Stealth after only 2 days of gaming. Was very disappointed with it. Was hoping for it to be the replacement of the Elite controllers. I hate the horrible build quality of the Elite Series. The Turtle Beach feels very cheap, and the connectivity was terrible on XBOX Series X.
Dang I’m really sorry to hear that Kevin that sounds like a terrible experience, it sounds like maybe you had a faulty unit because you should have rocksolid connection on the Xbox
Great review buddy. So I've been through more elites than I can remember so decided to try the scuff instinct pro. Loved it but didn't like the back buttons as much. After that gave in I decided to head back to the elites. Went with the white elite but wasn't aware it was not as good. Had the same issue with the left stick as you but found a very easy fix. So far so good and I'd forgotten how good those rear paddles were. Might try stealth next. Looks ok but worried I won't like rear bumpers as much.
On Full Power setting with the Battery Life, I got 8 Hours with RGB Maxed out at almost 50% battery. That's still pretty good. If people are only getting 8 hours total on the battery, they got a lemon. In ECO Mode and making sure RGB is Off, I'm getting much longer. If you have short battery life, I would return it and get a new one. Love my stealth ultra. It's definitely something to get used to, especially me coming from a PS5 Controller I was using on PC. This controller has alot great going for it, certainly its not cheap and isn't perfect, it's still impressive and I like it alot.
So true, that would be a good tier gamepad, especially if it had HE modules you could still adjust the tension on, and like a 5 year warranty in case anything else broke.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial have you considered modding it with replacement thumbsticks to get rid of the grinding issue? I know eXtremeRate sells some metal ones that are Elite style so they’re interchangeable. I’m curious to see if they would be compatible with the Stealth Ultra.
Well Somebody has been waiting 🤗 for this video! I just slipped up for a minute and already over a hundred comments. I'll miss the good ol days but Cheers to the 100k+ subs👊🎅.
top video i saw your two videos of turtle beach ultra and now this video….i think i’ll take the Turtle Beach Ultra Top..thanks for you time and for your professional work
M$ quality control for the Elite series has been an absolute hilarious farce to bare witness to firsthand. My current Elite 2, god bless her, is 2 years old, this ones been to the Elite controller vet 4 times, and shes the 3rd Elite series 2 controller Ive had. The first one broke from me getting so mad at the face buttons sticking, I skill issued it into a door frame. The second one, wound up being the stem warrenty, for which I genetically sequenced my current one from. Through trial and failure, I repeatedly claimed warranty against various issues regarding bumper buttons double inputting, to getting it back with the other bumper not inputting at all, to getting it back with the face buttons literally stuck pressed down under the shell. The last warranty claim I lucked out as it was the very last month of the warranty. And they actually managed to return back to me a fully functioning controller (not a new replacement mind you). But alas, the facebuttons are beginning to stick under the shell again. As for the Elite 1. I have a graveyard.
I couldn't stand the bumpers on the Turtle Beach. Might just be my hand size but they were very awkward for me to hit and playing a souls game with it was very uncomfortable for me. I also wasn't a fan of the Xbox 360 style joysticks. I much more prefer the feel of the gripped edges on most modern controllers, and really wish it came with options for that. The joysticks overall just felt not very premium. I ended up going back to my Elite and continue to wait for something to replace it. The Turtle Beach with the GameSir G7 sticks and bumpers would be my all time favorite controller though.
I returned the turtle beach. The battery life is not 30hrs in my experience. The screen would act wonky and not time out. The sticks not being replaceable are a deal breaker for me. Because the sticks are too short and small for your fingers. The controller feels very hollow and cheap in the hand. The triggers aren't mechanical but every other button is. Also even with an updated software I kept experiencing the controller freeze when fully charged on the dock. I got tired of reseting it. Major disappointment to me. I will await for the elite 3
this is exactly what I experienced from TB. I don't know why people like it. it feels like cheap plastic, hollow and quickly produced. feels like it costed them $20 to make and then they threw a $200 price tag on it to just make it competitive. Turtle beach has lost a ton of quality since the late 2000's. Cheap crap now. At least the elite series 2 feels well built.
Mentioning that those controllers are on shelves and you can basically find it in every store you see, kind of waters my eyes. Here in Eastern Europe, the only one store that offers them openly, is unable to tell me when I can receive my purchase. And is not like I have to wait for weeks. I actually have to wait months! I am already a month of wait for Elite Series 2 controller and no idea if it is going to come the next month as well.
I ordered a Scuf Instinct Pro Xbox X controller Around January 9th Have had it 1 month, and the Face Playe has already faded to white . It’s an Optic Texas Controller
@@GamerHeavenOfficial I watch no other controller reviews! You are so thorough on your reviews and even go into more depth if you think you've confused people! I bought a aim controller based on your review.. and the mechanical buttons! Keep doing what you are doing!!
I managed to get 3 replacements on my 12 month warranty with my Elite 2. All 4 controllers had awful stick drift. Won’t be buying another. Going to try the Turtle Beach I think
I have had the same stick issues out of box for multiple Elite 2s (the normal one, not the core) Will not buy another one for that alone. Additionally even if they didnt come out of box that way, the start stick drifting within 3 months of purchase. Looking to try out an HE and hope for the best.
I'm sending my TB stealth ultra back. It just feels too loose and cheap. The menu and start buttons are in odd locations as well. I'll stick to my Scuf Instict Pro, I've been using it for 2 years and it hasn't failed me.
the directional pad on the scuf pro is swappable, just fyi, i dont know why they even make them swappable, i like the stock xbox controller direction wheel the best, lol, awesome vudeo!!
I'm seeing very mixed reports about the the Turtle Beach on Reddit. Some people are loving it and saying it's the best controller ever, but some are having all kinds of issues, including sticks/buttons randomly stopping working, random disconnections, or the controller not turning the Xbox on, and some people have had their controller replaced only to have the same issues with the replacement. Also, the firmware update is out for it that allows you to map L3 and R3 to the back buttons, but (unless they've updated the software today) it has to be done through the controller itself, as the option doesn't yet show up in the software.
Watching the video now to see your thoughts, but owning all three and comparing them myself, I heavily lean the TB Ultra. Curious to see/ hear your thoughts through this!
I’ve had reasonable luck with stick drift on my elites I’ve owned, never anything too crazy, now the bumpers on the other hand…they must only be rated for 100 or so presses because they start double pressing or not registering within a month or two
Honestly after watching this, I'd say the perfect controller would have to be shaped like the Elite Series 2, have the haptics, adaptive triggers and thumbstick layout of the Dualsense, and the back-button placement like either the Scuf or the Victrix Pro BFG. So for now, I guess I'm sticking with my Dualsense and Elite 2...
I'm one of those people who have gone through many elite series 2. I never change the thumbstick caps and never change the D-Pad. I can't even use the paddles. The tension adjustment is the only thing I really like about it. Sadly its unreliable. Stick drift and RB issues. I also hold my controller different then a lot of people. Which I never knew at first. My index finger is used for the bumper buttons. My middle finger for the triggers. I think it's because my hands are small and I find it uncomfortable holding it differently. I'm waiting to buy the Turtle Beach controller at Best Buy soon. I am a total tech member so if it sucks I will return it and go back to the Elite Series 2.
Xbox elite 2 controllers get a 5 for me for comfort because 2 out of 3 of the ones I had would give me little electric shocks on the paddles. I would score them worse if the feeling of holding them when I'm not getting shocked was so damn perfect.
My first Elite 2 lasted a long while. It had an issue with the right thumbstick. I then went through three RMA refurbs with issues until they just sent me a new one. Haven't had an issue since for 3 years.
That's hella interesting.... all I hear about with the Elite series 2's is how garbage their quality is, almost unanimously... And that is just on the side of the fact that I've been through 2 of the series 2 and onto my 3rd.... The first series, I had to go through 3 too... And no, before you say it... I treat my controllers with lots of TLC.... my current series two, both bumpers have massively lost sensitivity and the right thumb stick is massively unresponsive with dead zone... It's super unfortunate how bad the quality is because you're right, it's a beautiful controller with awesome features.
Uuuhhhh, the budget for my gaming room keeps going up, but it's good to know that when my elite series 2 craps out, there's a quality replacement that has the endorsement of the controller captain. Speaking of, it looked like that captain oufit was making you a little spicy at the end there.
Why doesnt anyone seem to discuss the native Elite 2 app support on the Xbox when discussing these controllers. Its an absolute high point. Being able to go in and swap any command or option on the fly, mid game and jumping back over to your game is huge. Why pay more for a controller with factually less functionality (Scuf and TB). And you cant argue that, at all. They both have less options and are less convenient, albeit the TB coming a close 2nd with the screen being used to make changes. But the lack of full programming for button remap on the TB is an absolute deal breaker.
I've been thru about 12-14 elite 2's since release, they're great when they're working, core IS more durable, that said got the TBS on order. ALSO: Btw Elite 2's use Wifi Direct with a hidden SSID
my elite’s left bumper stopped clicking, and had horrible stick drift at 4 months. 1 month after the damn warranty ran out. Scuff is fantastic. 1 year strong
I have also been gaming on an elite series 2 since it came out and the elite 1 before that. However, i have purchased 4, repeat 4, elite 2s. The QA is abysmal but when the bumpers dont get jammed it is by far my favorite controller. I also have a hypr recon with HE sticks and its okay, but not nearly as valuable as my series 2. The thumbstick grip material that hypr uses is the problem. I want to purchase the TB ultra, but i truly truly love the interchangeable sticks and adjustable thumbdtick tension on the elite.
I love my Elite 2 but it's starting to show it's age with peeling grips and a sticky right bumper. No drift so I'm lucky there. Waiting for the Elite 3 and some reviews before getting a new pro controller, I did just buy a Gamesir SE but thats only really for using on my laptop when cloud gaming.
The case with Elite 2 bumpers usually arent bumpers themselves, but 90° microswitches, that are installed in a such way, that they move a bit down when you often press RB/LB with a force. That 1mm that they move throws them of ballance, theres easy way to fix them by moving them up a bit with a screwdriver tip, but thats temporary solution. Also, OPs controller is an unicorn, mine worked flawless for 2 years also (EU warranty period) but once it was out of warranty period, got stick drift, mushy RB, and rubberized grip on mine started to peel off. Idea is resolder stick modules, change faceplates and install stopgap for bumper microswitches, and wait for Elite 3 to be released in hopes that it will use Hall Effect stick modules, and would not have such QC issues as Elite 2 (tough Turtlebeach one is pretty tempting right now, and i wish Razer would come up with wireless Xbox Wolverine one, as it felt pretty great on wired version)
I keep seeing all these reviews on here saying the TB Stealth Ultra Controller is so great but Amazon reviews and consumer reviews make it seem atrocious and worse than the QC of the elite series 2. And yes, I’m on my 5th elite controller lol. I had my Series 1 for 5 years before it bit the dust with arguably more gaming hours played on it per day average. Wish they’d bring it back but here’s to hoping series 3 has that same level of QC so I can love my elite controller again.
My experience with the elite series 2 thus far has been great, however, the mother fucker is so godamn heavy. You know how the saying goes; the heavier they are the harder they fall? Well that applies to the elite series 2 as well. I think I'm going to swap to the to the turtle beach since it's lighter because I'm the type of guy that drops his controller at least once a day, and I don't know if you've ever dropped an elite series 2, but the sound it makes is heart wrenching. It's like the sound of dropping an 8 month old baby, not that I know what that sounds like..............
I enjoy the Scuf and the stealth ultra. My biggest gripe is the lack of grip on the back side of the ultra. If they added the same triggers as the Scuf, we would be in the endgame.
I have all 3 and can tell you I’ll take the elite series 2 over the others all day long. My scuff got terrible stick drift after a week and the turtle beach lasted a month and my series 2 2 years and going
I have had TERRIBLE luck with the elite 2 over the years, but my last 2 were exceptional. My last series 2 i broke myself by dropping it on a marble tile floor. Maybe they finally got it together. Got my son a $400+ custom scuff he'll be unboxing for Christmas. Stoked for that so he can stop using my elite! Welllll actually i just bought the Turtle Beach stealth ultra after this review so i guess the elite will be my ladies controller. Thanks for the reviews man!
I've been using the stock 360 controller since I got a xbox 360 way back and just this year finally got a GuliKit King Kong Pro, so I just recently got into this whole Controller game, but it's just sick to see we're getting some feature rich controllers and many of them being multi-platform. Really appreciate you keeping us up to date and putting dem controllers to the test!
My series 2 face buttons were unresponsive more than half the time which made it pretty unusable. So far with the stealth ultra the only down side is mouse click buttons and that's just a personal preference thing.
On my second elite controller since 2019, the only reason I had to get a new one is because the right bumper stopped working at the press. It really hard for it to work but I blame elden ring for that other than that no stick drift no problems😊
For pc we need the elite 2 board so you can bind rear buttons to any key on keyboard, but with hall effect thumb sticks. If the elite 3 has this it will be the ultimate
An update on Scuf controllers: As of June 23'the warranty has been doubled to 1 year!

An elite series 2 with hall effect sticks and lower input lag is all I want... Maybe next year
Seriously how has Microsoft not put this out already.
@@Exrimordonaj the series 2 must still be selling well. Im thinking maybe next year we might get something. This year they are making an improved standard controller I think, so I ended up just making a custom elite 2 from xbox design lab
Instant buy for me.
@@oOTheMastaOo240I’ve had 3 elite 2 controller and every single one, gets stick drift
You can buy a 2nd hand elite 2 and have the hall effect thumb sticks installed
Glad to hear Best Buy returned them. The greed needs checked. I really wish they’d charge more and manually test before shipping.
This content has elevated so much since I stumbled upon it 2 years back
Thank you
Man, preordered the Turtle Beach via best buy and got it at launch.
Sadly I too bought one and sfter 3 months
1. Grinding from right stick (friction ring fsiling
2. Randomly shuts down mid game
3. Left trigger actuating itself all the time
4. D pad constantly moving down, even though it worked fine in the onboard screen
I hope you have better luck than me (and an increasingly large amount of other pissed off owners)
Love to hear that friend
Thanks for your reviews. I received my TB Ultra yesterday and I’m very happy with it.
Hi ! what about now ? i am looking for my next controler for Xbox series. thanks for your help
The scuf came with a little RS drift to the right I will say that’s a pain but there are workarounds if you can solder
My rankings for the controllers I’m currently using.
1. stealth ultra took a little getting used to but damn it’s so good playing Warzone with.
2. Scuff Envision Pro such a good controller and the software it comes with lets you customize the shit out of it.
3. Elite it’s a perfect Xbox controller but I’m on my third one since 2019
Thanks for sharing!
@@nerdstrangler4804but Kevin is not like those TH-camrs. He made many teardown vids.
I never had a problem with power A or the Stealth but I did get them later in the cycle.
Elite controllers all have QC issues. I have seen more returns on Elite than any other controller over $50@@nerdstrangler4804
That’s awesome
I want to get the turtle beach...but I'm afraid to get it when elite 3 is around the corner.
Same
well it depends on how urgent u need it, if u need it urgent I would go for it but if u can wait (can take like up to a year still) I'd wait for the elite 3
Remember, every up vote is another point that might get used to helping the captain buy another camera that doesn't overheat.
Thank you.
Glad I could help! That was wonderful to read
@@johnconklin1934g7se has the rings yall want
@@ryaiariot did you get the TB ? how is it ?
What do you think of the TB 4 months later ?
@@pianovoix no, because I just keep seeing more of those posts about sticks/rings gouging material out.
You might get lucky an not have that issue, but the amount of posts that had the issue vs. the ones that didn't were too towards the negative for me to jump on the purchase.
I'd wait a few more months and browse fourms about it to see it's resolved later, if not I'm probably getting an xbox elite series 3 when they arrive, as it seems to be right around the corner for a reveal.
Edit: epic intro mate

I’m hoping they fix up the issue with the left stick, otherwise I love this controller

Same… I’ve bought 5 of them and all wrecked after 2-3 months
Could we say “the captain is at the controls”
🤣🤣 ohhh I love my knee slappin dad jokes.
That makes sense
I’ve had elite controllers since day 1, I love them. Tried the scuf, traded in on day 2. I might try the turtle beach

Great stuff. Nice to see them paired up in a meaningful way and thanks for unlocking your brain at the end for an unfiltered conclusion. Still waiting for a seller in the Netherlands to actually have the Ultra in stock.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The tb ultra is my fav everything is perfect except for the small sticks so i threw on some skull and co grips and couldn't be happier

I haven't tried the Scuf Instinct Pro, as I am A) Going through the reviews carefully, and B) It's a money thing at the moment.
Great review as always, the Controller Captain outfit works on you-maybe it could be your signature? Just a thought.

still love my Scuf Reflex, better grip and feel than the Elite Series 2 and no more broke bumpers.. I had to send my scuf in at the 11 month mark for stick drift but I also play for several hours every day
Thanks for the video. Still cant believe the TB doesn't have swappable sticks, stick tension or back grips, but the sticks hall effect sold it for me. Wish it were a bit heavier as well, but a great controller thus far.
you were forced to believe that heavier equals premium but that is not the case.

Hope you enjoy it!
The Turtle Beach controller with the Scuf triggers and the Elites swappable sticks would be perfect.

Yes sir
@codylujan yeah I'm not sure why people are praising this controller. The vader 3 pro has a better build feel IMO.
I ordered a Scuf Instinct Pro Xbox X controller Around January 9th

the directional pad on the scuf pro is swappable, just fyi, i dont know why they even make them swappable, i like the stock xbox controller direction wheel the best, lol, awesome vudeo!!
I'm not sure how you kept me watching this whole video but you did it.... Well played sir
Good choice! 🎮

I am a total tech member so if it sucks I will return it and go back to the Elite Series 2.
the amazon reviews for the Turtle Beach have a lot of complaints about battery life and grinding in the left stick. so...i'm kinda hesitant
Get it then return it if you don't like it. Its honestly the only real way to tell, reviews aren't enough.
Im wasting so much time overthinking it
Im subbing just because you included a kickin it old school reference 😂❤
Love that movie
That’s mentioned in this video twice
I had my first Scuf with no issues, so it’s kinda hard not to stay with them.
I think the back buttons are subjective, I think the ones on the Scuf are in the perfect position.😁
I have a launch One S controller that still works flawlessly and only recently have i decided to get an Elite
Thank you for sharing your experience Gavin, yeah that thing is a brick
that thing gave me a bad elbow
I enjoy the Scuf and the stealth ultra. My biggest gripe is the lack of grip on the back side of the ultra. If they added the same triggers as the Scuf, we would be in the endgame.
Those mouse click triggers are only good if you play shooters tho??
I have all 3 and can tell you I’ll take the elite series 2 over the others all day long. My scuff got terrible stick drift after a week and the turtle beach lasted a month and my series 2 2 years and going
thats the kind of intro i love
That’s the kind of comment I love
I don't know what to say except I love ending about the channel. Keep it up fam!
My series 2 face buttons were unresponsive more than half the time which made it pretty unusable. So far with the stealth ultra the only down side is mouse click buttons and that's just a personal preference thing.
I returned my turtle beach. The stick started developing a groove within 2 weeks.
Oh I'm excited to see the results.
On my second elite controller since 2019, the only reason I had to get a new one is because the right bumper stopped working at the press. It really hard for it to work but I blame elden ring for that other than that no stick drift no problems😊
I’ve owned 7 elite controllers had gen 1 and 2 I always had high stick drift and eventually the bumpers would go bad.
watching this waiting to see another 57min video when you get your hands on an Elite v3
And that will be there for you 😊
For pc we need the elite 2 board so you can bind rear buttons to any key on keyboard, but with hall effect thumb sticks. If the elite 3 has this it will be the ultimate
