I use the Cold War ones on my Xbox controller and to me, they feel good the actual points don't stick out they wrap around the side. I suffer from busted up hands , so KontrolFreek is my go to when gaming. They really help ease some of the pain and discomfort.

The inferno / vortex KontrolFreeks are definitely my favorites by far. I actually use the low rise Vortex for the left stick and one of the high rise inferno's for the right stick.

As a guy with sweaty thumbs the battle royals are fantastic. The design adds a ton of grip while still being a convex stick. I also haven’t noticed any discomfort at all
The Sniper Kontrolfreek is my fave... its a great product. I only started using these cause my thumbs were in pain after playing for a bit... having higher sticks made it so i was no longer in pain.
Quick tip. Run some hot water and get them wet real quick and add a dab of soap. Rub it in then wash it off with hot water. Then dab dry. DO NOT DO THIS TOO OFTEN OR THEY WILL RIP. it will make them sticky if you suffer from clammy hands
Great review. I tested out many Kontrol Freeks. Vortex and Galaxy are the best ones I think, because they are both no nonsense: Very grippy where it should feel grippy, but smooth and no texture around the thumbstick. I also really love the CQCX, but in my hands they are just a slightly bit less grippy than the tall Vortex one. But CQCX is a close second after the domed Vortex. I do feel that many concave Kontrol reeks lose their grip after several months: Inferno, CQC, the shorter concave Vortex, ULTRA, Call of Duty Heritage. But I never had that problem with the Galaxy. Almost if they're made from a different kind of rubber. So Galaxy is in my opinion the best concave set. I never had any convex/domed Kontrol Freeks that even lost a little bit of grip: CQCX, the tall Vortex, Atomic, SNIPR, FPS Battle royale. They're all exactly the same as when I bought them years ago. If I could only pick one Kontrol Freek for every thumbstick and I had use them for the rest of my life I would pick the short Galaxy one for the left stick and the tall domed Vortex for the right stick.
One of the reasons I started using control freaks was cause a lot of third party Xbox controller have plastic sticks that hurt if your sprint is tied to clicking the left thumb sticks. Cqc rush for me

The Diablos are actually good for exactly what they advertise. I use them for Elden Ring and the points on the edges help with quick movement and the low caps since you push somewhat harder when spamming attacks in that game.
Just tried out the CQCX and they are very, very nice. Also tried the Vortex and Inferno. Didnt like the Inferno, but like the Vortex high rise. CQCX is definitely up there with my love of the CQC Rush.
One thing to keep in mind with precision rings is that the stronger versions will limit your range of motion. So if you consider the stick pressed all the way to any side a 100% input, precision rings can limit you to something like 90% or even less, which will mean that even with a higher sensitivity you'll be turning slower. For example with a 7/7 sensitivity in cod you might only turn as quick as a 6/6 or even a 5/5 sensitivity. So that's just something to be aware of. The obvious way to avoid this problem is to just get sticks with increased tension, however, I found that increased tension actually makes it more difficult to initate very small inputs from the starting position. I find the gradual increase in tension of a precision ring much more intuitive and found overall better success with it. So each solution has it's positives and negatives.
The other thumb grip brand you've mentioned is Skull & Co, they have STACKABLE caps and they ship in a set of 6, 2 caps for each height! That's an excellent value for money! I would love to see a comparison against KFs and analysis video soon!
I use the edge doom for my left stick and battle royal on my right , I love how doom on the left lets me move fast in games , and right stick is the tallest grip kontrol freak sells so it give me the most comtroll for aiming

I bought the cold war ones. Extremely accurate control freeks. But require a high learning curve. Never the less. They're the hardest I've had to use but also the best for flick shots.
I've been out of the game for a while now, but they used to make a version of the cqc called Signature, they were a hybrid between convex and concave and they were super comfortable
hey I used and am going to use again one of these caps on the joystick for the Akai mini midi controller, they will fit that thing and definitely add dexterity and cool points
I enjoy the infernos for games that require quick reaction time like r6 and most fps however don’t sleep on the lotus they are so good for aiming in my opinion
These definitely won't last years if heavily used. I'm going on my third pair this year. The cqc rush are very grippy but the rubber disintegrates very quickly. The rubber dust can get into your control sticks causing problems. So I prefer the galaxy. Galaxy will also break down but last twice as long and don't disintegrate. Left thumb wares out much faster than the right for me. I'm going to try inferno.
Last for years lmao. Absolutely not unless you play an hour or 2 a day, 3x a week. If you play enough you can wear down galaxy’s super smooth in about 3 months or so. Still holds grip but not too crazy
MW3, MW2 ,Vanguard, cold war Limited edition saints row Omni in 4 different colors. CQC Black Galaxy's The clear Galaxy's. My favorite out of all of them. I can't pick cause. I play racing games and shooting games. But for racing games I use a combination of omni and the CQC For my first person shooter games I like Call Of duty cold war. And I sort of like the Vanguard. But the colors are kind of limited to certain controllers I got. But The modern word for 2 or perfect on my Chrome green elite controller. Look good and they actually perform well. They're more flat, not like the cold war which are dished a little bit. I was debating on buying the new MW3 ONES I've bought and married. Many, many pairs bit's spent probably 5. Probably five hundred I'm just thumb stick extensions, LO. L. They do help a little bit, but as they look cool and work. I'm cool with it better that way. That's why I think the omnies are the most useful on all games. Because they come 4 DIFFERENT colors.

You forgot to mention the most important thing about kontrol freeks and that’s hand size. It will hurt your game to use a high rise with smaller hands. I recently switched to the lotus mid rise and it’s the sweet spot for me. I get the added height for accuracy but it’s also short enough to where it’s comfortable to play for hours
The newer white CQC Rush give me the same psychological connection as being attached to my teddy bear when I was a kid. How could I recommend them more? 😁 I am tempted to try the Vortex mid rise and the CQCX though. Thanks for a great video. 😎

Their warranty is a joke and I've gone through a bunch of these ... I've tried to work with their support and one of their support agents actually said "you must be a mutant with the way these breakdown on you" ... reassuring ... they actually admit that the thumbsticks are made to fail by the end of their warranty period so you have to replace them. Especially the newer ones, the older ones didn't have this problem but the newer ones are definitely cheaper in design and lifespan.
I actually think the xbox sticks are perfect grip for me. Thats why i cant pull the trigger (no pun intended) on buying a ps5 pro controller, because i cant find a thumbstick concave lile xbox that i like

Kontrol freaks should make swappable sticks like the elite and the edge.

The only downside to the Galaxy's is that gunk does build up in the little cracks over time and you gotta clean it fairly often.
