@@ICEMAN_GLX I take it you're a "glass is half empty" guy. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm an old Navy veteran who still has hopes and dreams. Perhaps I'll see the perfect gaming controller in my lifetime. Hi five ✋
@@ICEMAN_GLX If any of these companies made a perfect controller, it would quickly become the defacto standard for a very large market of semi-competitive/competitive gamers with far better distribution of their items. That's much better than just making minor improvements to an already good controller and staying in the niche segment.
After watching your review I bought the Vader 4 Pro, and man it is a great controller. The dpad and buttons have a great touch and clicky sound to it, and the thumbsticks are awesome. An easy recomendation.
I have both, bought the KK3 first then the Vader 4 Pro a month later. Have been using them for some time now, I have to say I always go back to the KK3. Plus on comfort and slightly more responsive from my experience.
I think the Vader 4 pro is gonna replace my Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma. Kev, I love your reviews, Always fun, and I literally laugh out loud at your wit and puns. Keep it up ma dude!
Hey there! The sharpened screws actually make a ton of sense in applications like this due to the sharpened screws biting into the plastic itself because the expectation isn't that the controller will be pulled apart frequently if at all so it's actually nice to see, the other option is golden threaded inserts and the flathead screws which in the long run ends up being A.) More expensive when it comes to the creation of the controller because you have to push in the threaded inserts into the plastic which requires longer machine/manpower hour time B.) Arguably a *much* bigger pain in the ass when it comes down to the inserts themselves, golden threaded inserts are usually always used on things like laptop hinges and when those inserts come loose you basically have to buy an entire new *module* for the hinges (Source: Worked in electronics production both for CNC and Moldable applications) Super thorough review and I'm glad you took the time to discuss each individual piece of the controller, I ended up buying this when it dropped over the Apex 4, simply because I like the black aesthetic more and I have been very anti-screen-on-anything-that-isn't-monitor for ages. The Gulikit is nice but definitely seems to be lacking in some of my creature comforts (mechanical face buttons).
I really appreciate the in depth reviews. My stock Xbox One controller was getting pretty bad stick drift, so I decided to look into Hall effect controllers. I've never tried a controller with back buttons, so that should be interesting. I pulled the trigger on the Vader 4 pro on Amazon and can't wait to try it out.
Having both now, the KK3 is a better Nintendo Switch Pro controller than the Vaders (3 or 4) imo. If you play mostly on the Switch, just get it. For PC players, the Vader 4 is a solid option. I would still get the Apex 4 or save some money and get the Vader 3. The stick tension adjustment is a nice thing to have. A thing you play around for a couple days and forget about it. Personally, I don't think it's worthy when you can get the Vader 3 for $55. Even with the Flydigi carrying case + replacement sticks with different heigths you still save money
@@oftentigre No. I don't know another way to remap other than the Flydigi App. There's nothing in the manual. There's a "Nintendo Switch" mode that activates using the arrow button but, that's it as far as I know. The fact I can remap the buttons without an App is why I prefer the KK3 for the Switch.
Captain, with almost every item I'm looking to purchase I go to multiple sources and reviews....With VG controllers I need only go to Heaven! Your controller reviews are better than most of us stallions and stallionetts deserve
I have both controllers. Personally, i chose vader 4 pro to be better overall. Things that i like more about the vader pro is the dongle that it came with is just plug n play, while the kk3's dongle, there's a pairing button and u have to pair it with new pc, and the lights on the dongle lighting up everytime is honestly annoying for me. The way you wake up the controller from sleep is also different. With vader pro, you click the home button and it will start. The way you wake up the kk3 is by pressing the face button, and the analog will light itself and do a little bit of vibration (u cannot turn this off which is also annoying) and when you carry this controller around, chances are the face buttons can be mispress with the bag and will wake up the controller unlike the vader home button so you must carry a case for it. The software of vader 4 pro vs the flexibility of mapping on the fly with kk3? If i could choose both i would but if i had to choose one, it would be the software. What? you cannot map a macro for the back button for kk3? How am i suppose to click shortcut in elden ring with the back paddle? That being said, the software for vader 4 pro is more extensive that of 8bitdo software, which i thought was already pretty great. The thing that i like about the vader 4 pro is somehow, the buttons feel more responsive than kk3s. Both are 1000hz but when playing the games, i felt the vader to be more responsive, i guess the low pre travel distance of the buttons works in their favor in terms of responsiveness. And man, if you haven't tried the d-pad of the vader 4 pro, you're in for a suprise, that's all i can say
dont forget the back paddles of the kk3 being a point of failure. Ive seen MANY complaints about them breaking easily, by far the most common complaint. The only real advantage I see for the kk3 is that you can fairly easily change the switches of the face buttons because you dont need to solder/desolder anything. Thats the issue with mouse switches, when its time to change them, they are a hassle
@@masterdna117 i get why the back paddle is a point of failure. Its really hard to pull off the back paddle if you don't know the right technique. When you try to force it out, it will push the metal onto the surface causing the plastic to be deformed. Granted, once u already put the paddle in place, you won't really have this issue, and i guess it would be nice if i can pull the back paddle easier without damaging the plastic. Some have it easier as they know how to pull it correctly. The back paddle i would say is more intuitive than vader 4 pro. You can press both paddles (on left side or right side) more easily than u can in vader 4 pro, but sadly the mapping is limited to the buttons u have on the controller and no macro :(
@hafizsulaiman4057 I thought I'd hate having buttons at the back of the controller instead of paddles, but it's been a pretty good experience for my hands so far. It's nice to know that there's no chance of breaking back buttons, as opposed to paddles, which always seem to break, regardless of what controller it is.
Great Video as always, nice to hear that Flydigi will improve their software suite I also have to say that their limited edition models are quite sweet, I thought the Black Flag Edition was already really cool, but then I saw their Apex 4 Evangelion edition 👀
The Apex 4, just like the Vader 4 Pro also comes with an Assassin's Creed (Syndicate) Limited Edition which comes in black and also has a similar packaging if you haven't seen it.
Taobao only they scalp crazy margins off of Ali. If you're okay with scalpers, ask for 200$. I negotiated to 220$ but they tried to cheat me an extra 15$ and I backed out. The Apex 5 is likely out soon too, so limited editions are probably going to be cheaper when those release.
I literally got both controllers just this past week! XD Ended up keeping the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro, immediately felt better out of the box, and playing around with both justified that for me as well.
I have the EasySMX X10 and If I hold down the back buttons, it doesn't work. You can only click once with the back buttons. So I can't run in Elden Ring, I can only dodge jump and step back with 1-Klick. Is there any way how I can activate the “hold” feature for the back buttons? The “pro” controller is useless if this won’t work..
First line of the video, not exactly a fence sitters dream lol. At least I'll get the facts. Gonna get back to it. Post view edit: You're right, the back buttons on the KK3 are godly, but sadly (truly), that's not enough to make me keep it. Plus the FDV4 popped up on Amazon since last I looked. I can't adjust to the lack of tension on a hall sticks, so after watching this, it's a no brainer. Make no mistake, I love the KK3. I'd recommend it to any non-obsessive, non-me-like person who asked. My only complaint was the mushiness of the stopped triggers. Great video, got exactly what I needed. My chest tightened when you drummed up my PMCPTSD, but it was worth it. Edit again: THEY SOLD OUT WHILE I WAS WATCHING THE VIDEO!!!
Here in asia, kk3 max with added 1y warranty cost around 60usd now, whereas the vader 4 pro still around 80usd, so yeah, maybe it'll be more helpful if someone who in tight budget
They updated the back paddles for the KK3 by making stronger hinges, fixing the broken/sticky paddles for the first version users like myself. Fortunately, I spoke with Jim from aknes through discord (theres a whole GuliKit community on there), asking about the new stronger hinges, and he sent me new ones, plus a bunch of other random extra parts. Super helpful, shipped almost immediately. Havent ran into any problems since. Best controller ive had yet. Better than the 3 different elite controllers that broke on me. If the FlyDigi had paddles, id be sold. Not a fan of the button placements:/
He's says it's close but in almost every category Vader 4 pro was better. That also seems to be the sentiment across the internet. Wish I'd saw this video before my kk3 max purchase. Will be returning it as soon as it arrives.
@@jardygiovan Returning the KK3 and getting the Vader pro 4 was the smart move. The KK3 felt nice in the hand but all the buttons felt mushy. I didn't like that. The vader 4 pro feels nice, buttons feel nice and their software allows for keyboard inputs to be bound to extra buttons. Couldn't be happier with the switch.
From what I've seen the KK3 Pro is hardly any worse than the KK3 Max besides lacking a second set of back buttons. Some people actually say it's slightly better than the KK3 Max so I feel like if you don't need all the super in-depth options of the Vader 4 Pro the KK3 Pro is an excellent high quality controller for a good price.
Nice video! But still ordered both of them...there's just these days that certain controllers just feel bettter for certain games. But still love this comprehensive review.
So I want to start by saying I've seen an unreasonable amount of your videos, and I love your channel. With that said, you unintentionally continue to do Flydigi Space Station a disservice. The entire reason I purchased my vader 3 pro (aside from meeting my min criteria of have hall effects sticks, at least two extra back buttons and mouse click/trigger stop triggers) was because what space station (and no other controller can as far I know) can do. You very briefly touch on how you make the front two to windows functions, which although that's true, it only scratches the surface. With space station, you can map any of the rear 4 and front 2 to ANY keyboard key. Why this is critical information (I only figured out by taking the gamble during the first primeday of 2024 because nobody talked about it, yourself included) is that it opens up so many options for bindings. This is my COD setup. When holding the controller going left to right I have them bound as such: Push to talk in cod, toggle deafen in discord, toggle mute in discord and then my slide crouch/hybrid button (for activating omni-movement and doing the dive parachute pull trick perfectly every time) then the left front button is mute in game coms (F9) and mute in game sounds (like the starting plane sounds) (F10). Why this so fucking neat is that my push to talk key mapping being a keyboard key means that discord can also use that key. So when i push to talk in cod, I'm also doing push to mute in discord so I'm not doing the double talk thing and driving my friends batshit if we also have some randos. So by using the full ability of space station, I don't have to buy a foot pedal to do push to talk thus keeping my coms with my team in games and in discord private. I can also moderate what I hear in game such as prox chat or ambient game sounds like the plane. Reason why this was important for me: I've been playing m&k for over a decade. I'm also a software engineer which when paired with my long history of gaming caused carpal tunnel. Even after I got surgery, I cannot play m&k and also do my actual job. F9, F10 and push to talk were things that I had bound on my mouse and tbh I was a bit spoiled from using them for years. I also knew that COD blocks pretty much everything including REWASD. This meant that whatever controller needed to have a native app that could also remap the buttons to any keyboard key I chose. With at that said, please please please when you do any review which has re-mapping or its own software, please don't brush over that aspect and do a thorough analysis of what all it really can do. At the very least, if you're reviewing the Flydigi products please give Space Station the love it disserves. Sure the ui might be a little clunky (atm as you've pointed out they're actively working on it) and I occasionally have to re-import config (which it doesn't delete, just seems to kinda forget) sometimes, but baby when it works, it works perfectly. Anyhoo great video as always. I look forward to seeing more of your fantastic content in the future ❤
What do you think of the shapes of modern controllers? They seem to have come to a certain standard that all the companies "have" to follow now, and a lot of people don't mind it, but is it really the best we can get? Because after putting in a lot of hours playing fps on controller I started thinking that they shouldn't be convex. Instead they should be concave like steam controller imo. Not only do I find it more fitting, but there is a big benefit that is more room for increasing height of the sticks. I sometimes wish to use some higher options, but when I do it, my finger feels uncomfortable. Are there any reasons that I don't know of that make such shape a less viable option? Because it seems like it's the companies that are afraid to try something new. Even flydogo just copies standard xbox shape.
the vader 4 pro with all accessoires like the charger travel bag and extra thumbsticks just came in from aliexpress within 6 days for 86 dollars i aint complaning its so fing amazing best controller by farr
so would you say that the vader 4 is probably the best sub $100 controller right now? i just got one yesterday and I am very impressed. I was thinking about picking up a second one but i'm wondering if there's any others at the same price or cheaper that are comparable other than the Gulikit?
Great video! Would have loved to see your thoughts on the advanced thumbstick settings within the flydigi software for the Vader 4 Pro. Some seemingly really cool tech there and options no other controller has. Thanks for bringing great controller content to this platform as always.
@@GamerHeavenOfficialappreciate the reply! Unless I missed it I don’t think you went into the advanced thumbstick options in the software, I could be wrong.. under the joystick section in the software towards the bottom there is a “Click here” link that shows even more settings.
Question: I have the Apex 2 and it comes with a detachable mobile phone stand/clip, The Vader 4 Pro appears to have the same connection points on it, but does it actually come with the phone stand/clip?
Thinking about getting this not for a shooter but for Path of Exile 2. I play mostly mouse and keyboard and mostly ARPG's. Currently I have a Razer Naga mouse which has 6 thumb buttons which I find very helpful. Been toying with switching to a controller as POE2 is supposed to have great controller integration. Thoughts on the Vader 4 for that application?
Where the hell do you live for Aliexpress to take that long and charge that much for shipping? I live in Australia and we get stuff from Ali in 1-2 weeks (our local postal service typically has the package for longer than the China side of things does) and when shipping isn't free it's like a couple dollars for small products
Hey Kevin, just wanted to let you and your subscribers know that the latest revisions of the KK3 Max have fixed the ergonomic issues of the back paddles you mentioned in your review. The bottom paddles now are flush with the back shell, and imo they are the best back button configuration for any controller atm
I wish controllers didn't have the rumble packs inside. I know someone will say just take them out but due to having extreme carpal tunnel in both hands I am not able to remove them. I am thinking about getting the vader 4 pro just trying to do as much homework on controllers before buying it.
I have both controllers. I would go for vader 4 pro anyday of the week. The software vs non existent software on the kk3 is a deal breaker for me. You cannot map buttons across kk3, and you cannot map macros so you are stuck with the buttons that came with your controllers that you are able to map to
@@hafizsulaiman4057 so even with discount KK3 isnt worth the money. in the video, he also prefer vader 4 pro. I know that too because at the same price point, having mechanical, software, etc. I will definitely pick the same one (vader 4 pro) but if KK3 is just half the price and become same price point as direwolf. The question should I pay twice KK3 price for vader 4 pro? I get it. thanks
@@JimzJimmy its a good controller. I think for half the price, it is worth it. You would be perfectly happy with kk3 max. mind you, i have the kk3 first before vader 4 pro, and i'm perfectly happy with it. For the price, it is worth it. For the price of the vader 4 pro, if u get it at let say 70$ (the price i bought at), i'd say get that instead. Sorry if my original comment imply that the kk3 was bad, no, its a perfectly good controller, and worth at least 60$ and the vader 4 pro is worth at least 70$. With 90$, i would get a case and a charging dock plus a phone holder that comes with the vader pro, so i think u should try checking the price with all that excluded
@hafizsulaiman4057 How's your KK3 Max holding up? I've heard pretty bad things about it here, like the bumpers, triggers, and paddles breaking off after only a few months of usage. I got one recently, and I really enjoy using it, but I'm considering sending it back because of these common build quality issues.
Before I even watch I am going to give my opinions on the Gulikit Kk3 max and see how they match up with the results. I've had the Gulikit since the end of February, bought on Amazon, which is a plus. I really like the controller but my issues with it are the following: The battery life is terrible, my examples are with all lights turned off. I get about 12 hours of playtime playing with vibration turned off in game and about 9 hours on games with vibration turned on, but the vibration will only last about 8 before the controller stops vibrating itself. The back buttons will stick due to what I believe is an engineering oversight of the squared button faces corners getting caught on the squared edges of the button opening. The trigger stops are a joke, the throw is long and they will actuate before they hit the clicky break. Also my right trigger has a self actuation problem that requires a strong thwack, hitting the trigger like an old television to make it stop. Because of that I now don't engage the trigger stops and it lessens the issue. No saving profiles is a bummer. The only other small thing is I hate the placement of the "select" button or the "view" button, it's too close to the stick and you have reach over the stick to hit that little bugger. Now for the good stuff: I really like the sticks despite the lack of tension settings. They are extremely accurate, they don't have a perfect pitch perfect resting value of .000002 but it was it is not anywhere close to needing a deadzone for stick drift, a little stiffer spring would fix that. I like the face buttons despite the false marketing, no issues with them yet. I like the back button placement when using the gumdrops on top and the smaller paddles on bottom. I like the texture on the faceplate it feels soft and velvety but not slippery at all. I like the texture of the stippling on the triggers a lot, I wish the bumpers had it on them as well. The D-pad is fine no issues with it. 1000mhz polling on both wired and wireless is great and the response time is awesome. That about covers everything. Overall I really like the controller but it's issues I've had are something that would prevent me from recommending it as much as I'd like to. I went through 3 Elite series 2 controllers and other than battery life the Gulikit beats it in almost every category. I will be trying a Fly Digi controller for my next controller.
What controller cross-over adapter works on a newer Xbox(if you did connect it to an Xbox Series X/S) after the new firmware update of the Xbox? I seen the Brooks link listed in the description, but they don't work anymore.
I'm set on Vader 4 personally, but I'll wait until people confirms that 3axis gyro actually works on PC and is actually good (dualsense tier good, in term of accuracy when mapped to mouse output through any software like DS4W, Rewasd or Steam Input) thanks again for all the excellent in depth and funny reviews kev
The trigger stops and supporting mechanism for bumpers on those would make the elite 2 controller go from ‘not ever again’ to ‘perfection’. Like.. a thicker piece of plastic that isn’t recycled from a McStraw.
Purchased a vader 4 pro 2 days aga from amazon, it came in defective space station sofware detects it as a vader 3 pro eva 😢 missing out on features and 1000hz locked at 700hz
Hello I'm a disabled gamer that uses an Xbox adaptive controller. I've been looking for a good controller to upgrade to that'll work with the adaptive controller with the copilot feature. But the controller has to be Xbox certified. Any ideas how I could get one of these 2 controller to be recognized by the adaptive controller? I'm on pc
So I do have both these controllers and I think the fly digi wins by a landslide there new joysticks I think are the best ones I've ever used buttons feel great triggers are good but little to long of a draw. Only downfall is have to use a wingman to use it on Xbox or p.s. good content like always 👌
17:57 flight simmers want to know about the precision of the triggers in analog mode. Gulikit KK2pro had very bad triggers for proportional use. They max out at different mechanical travel, and the worse one maxes out when only pressed for 20% of travel. And it couldn't be calibrated away.
Kevin, I know it’s not directly related but since this is your most recent video I figured I’d get a reply…. I’m on the fence thinking of getting DS Edge, and just not sure because of battery life/ back paddle module breaking stories, etc. should I buy it?? How do you feel about it ??
Is there a good quality controller without the back buttons out there? 1000hz, hall effect, mechanical or otherwise good quality front buttons. Doesn’t need to be wireless. Is there such a thing?
Is gulikit going to make a ps5 controller because I genuinely want to buy it but want a PlayStation layout . Also I would be cool to have a gulikit dualsense edge with haptic adaptive triggers and hall effect sticks
How do u think. If i already have g7 se. So what a point buy vader 4? G7 so fast. Easy to control and track. 35 usd g7. 80usd +- vader4. 2000 stick positions it marketing or killer features?

Looking for a custom controller since XDL has been such a nightmare and have been waiting almost 2 months for it. The only reason I went with XDL is because of the Eletric Volt color which no one else has. I just wish sites would let you customize colors with hex codes for specific colors
Ive been using kk3 max for 3 months, and ive been using the back button(g2 and g4) during my 3 months of usage. The back button got stuck recently. Ive opened the kk3 to find the plastic hinge broke on both of them, making the button stuck. Really dissapointed with the build quality for kk3. Currently waiting for Vader Pro 4. Hopefully all goes well.
7:32 so true, I barely play MP games even lol, I just want to use a good controller for good fun, and couch gaming on PC with gyro aiming, and buttons on back to avoid claw grip. That's why DS4W/Rewasd/Steam support is important for me. I want low input lag not to tryhard and win, but more because I know from experience that less lag makes any games more fun to control, it's very noticeable once you know how to look for input lag, and even on freaking Mario is just more fun the less laggy a game is.
I think most buying a pro controller just want the pro features but aren’t competing. I use pro controllers for 3rd person action adventure games, and other genres besides fps and it’s lovely keeping your thumbs on the sticks the whole time.
I've been using Hall Effect thumbstick controllers for shooters, and I've noticed that the aim assist is minimal compared to potentiometer joysticks. I dug a bit, and people are saying that potentiometer joysticks with drift consistently keep aim assist activated during gameplay. This seems to be why the pros are using potentiometer joysticks with drift instead of Hall Effect controllers. What are your thoughts on this?
Put down the shovel and let us take a look at this hole you’ve dug. You have an article or a resource backing up this sentiment? There is no difference to in game aim assist.

I recently got the Vader 4 Pro and have been loving it so far. I had pretty much only been using controllers with a PS style layout before, but it took me almost no time to get used to the Xbox layout. I'm currently waiting for the accessories to arrive, and then I should have everything I need to kick ass with this controller. 😁
@lukemiller6410 The carrying case, some joystick attachments, and grips. I didn't get the docking station, as I don't really like to leave my controllers outside.
@@oftentigreI believe that's L3 and R3. In terms of remapping, I've already remapped the back buttons to the face buttons, and I've only had to make the change in the software once. Once you remap it, the onboard memory in the controller will never forget.
Can you do a video on the “best cables on Amazon” for controllers/wired gaming? There is a significant lack of content on it and I’d love to hear your input.
Has anyone tried performing a battery upgrade modification to the vader 4 pro? I think installing a 5000 mAh lipo battery should fix the battery issue making it a near perfect controller.
What converter did you use to connect Vader4 pro to Xbox/Ps4? I bought R90, but it doesn’t support Vader4 pro(of course) I don’t know what converter supports Vader4 pro
The KK3 Max back padel interior plastic breaks easy, because when they are pressed they push against a metal square that holds down the plastic that hold unto the paddles, and since the contact area is tiny plastic vs thin metal, it's a mater of time... And trigger stops feel gross.
Hey GH, I’m looking for an affordable controller that won’t get stick drift but was put off the flydigi controller after this vid, any recommendations? 🙏
Hey bro, not sure what your idea of affordable is since it's relative to each individual, but Gamesir controllers make several controllers with hall effect sticks that are sub $40.00. Also not sure what turned you off of flydigi but you won't find a better quality controller and at any price let alone sub $100. Given an unlimited budget for a controller I still believe I would choose a Vader 4 pro. I currently rock a Vader 3 pro ($70.00- Amazon) and a Gamesir cyclone pro($35.00- Amazon)
so my kk3 jsut had a premature faulre from jsut under 1 year of use ont he right tirgger where it keeps going between 0 and the max vaule and no real way to repair it

@@GamerHeavenOfficial Sorry, I got mixed up with my question. I meant the Vader 4 Pro sticks. You mentioned they don't have a spring and that's what I want to know: how do they recenter if they don't have a spring? I can't tell from your tear down. I said TMR because I had just read about those on reddit. My bad.
I can't buy a vader 4 pro because of customs duties in Turkey. What are the controller models you can recommend for competitive price-performance (cod warzone) games that I can buy locally? Can I use the dualsense edge for years without breaking down?
Do you know how to fix stick drift on the Vader 4 pro? I got it yesterday and it's already drifting. It seems to be a recentering problem, but the calibration usually just makes it drift in the other direction. Is there any way to fix this, or will I just have to wait for an update?
The controller physically can’t get drift as shown in the tear down, it lacks re centering springs. Sounds like you have a busted ass faulty unit. Hope it wasn’t bought from Ali or something of the sort
@GamerHeavenOfficial that's not true at all. While it can't get drift for the recentering spring becoming loose, the joysticks are still loose enough to get small amounts of drift in the center of the joystick because the physical joystick will still wiggle while centered. Every controller has the same problem it's just less on every flydigi controller I've used because the joysticks sit tighter. I have never used a controller that has a "perfect resting value" as you say in your videos, likely due to the fact there is some sort of center deadzone enabled when you tested the joysticks for drift. I did notice that you actually had the deadzone set to 0 for one of the gamesir controllers and you said it slightly wanders the yard. The recentering however, is not the issue. It has to do with the calibration of the joysticks. I have seen many other reviews that show their controller on the 0 deadzone setting, and they get 2-2.5% stick drift. The calibration in the software doesn't change anything because they are already calibrated. It appears that the tension for the joysticks messes with the center value of the joystick (slightly moving the physical joystick in a certain direction), hence why they added the auto calibration setting. They said to not use it in shooter games, so I had the setting turned off, though you really should have it turned on and I didn't realise that at the time. My unit works perfectly fine, but for some reason the app didn't save my changes to my controller, so it still had the deadzone compensation set to -3% and that was why my stick drift was reaching 5.5% rather than 2.5%.
If a company hasn't approached you for controller design advice yet, they should.
Nobody wants to make a perfect controller because they wouldn’t be able sell multiple controllers to everybody. Lol.

After watching your review I bought the Vader 4 Pro, and man it is a great controller.
The dpad and buttons have a great touch and clicky sound to it, and the thumbsticks are awesome.

Hey there!
The sharpened screws actually make a ton of sense in applications like this due to the sharpened screws biting into the plastic itself because the expectation isn't that the controller will be pulled apart frequently if at all so it's actually nice to see, the other option is golden threaded inserts and the flathead screws which in the long run ends up being
A.) More expensive when it comes to the creation of the controller because you have to push in the threaded inserts into the plastic which requires longer machine/manpower hour time
B.) Arguably a *much* bigger pain in the ass when it comes down to the inserts themselves, golden threaded inserts are usually always used on things like laptop hinges and when those inserts come loose you basically have to buy an entire new *module* for the hinges
(Source: Worked in electronics production both for CNC and Moldable applications)
Super thorough review and I'm glad you took the time to discuss each individual piece of the controller, I ended up buying this when it dropped over the Apex 4, simply because I like the black aesthetic more and I have been very anti-screen-on-anything-that-isn't-monitor for ages.

Can the Vader 3/4 Pro keep a remap of L4 R4 (pressing the sticks) on back buttons without the app open?
You can press both paddles (on left side or right side) more easily than u can in vader 4 pro, but sadly the mapping is limited to the buttons u have on the controller and no macro :(
@@masterdna117I'm glad my Asus mouse has hot swappable switches, and it comes with 2 free replacement switches in the box.
@@StardustLegacyFighter agree, because of that very reason I bought my rog chakram. Best mouse Ive had

Great Video as always, nice to hear that Flydigi will improve their software suite
I also have to say that their limited edition models are quite sweet, I thought the Black Flag Edition was already really cool, but then I saw their Apex 4 Evangelion edition 👀
I’ll check that limited out my friend. Yeah I’m siked for a smoother FlyDigi app

Yes i was able to beat Dark Souls 1 and 2 thanks to this!

I notice it too. Even when Kk3 wins in an aspect, Vader is getting complemented in some way.

When you play shooters do you feel the difference in your accuracy from a ps5 controller to a Vader 4 pro?
Nice video! But still ordered both of them...there's just these days that certain controllers just feel bettter for certain games. But still love this comprehensive review.
Which one is better for fps games?
When holding the controller going left to right I have them bound as such:
Push to talk in cod, toggle deafen in discord, toggle mute in discord and then my slide crouch/hybrid button (for activating omni-movement and doing the dive parachute pull trick perfectly every time) then the left front button is mute in game coms (F9) and mute in game sounds (like the starting plane sounds) (F10).
Reason why this was important for me:
I've been playing m&k for over a decade.

@hafizsulaiman4057 How's your KK3 Max holding up?
I really like the controller but my issues with it are the following:
The battery life is terrible, my examples are with all lights turned off.

I don’t notice any difference between my apex 4 and Dualsense edge as far as aim assist.
@@ICEMAN_GLX I used a 8bit ultimate and aim assist is very minimal in comparison to dualsense or dualshock. So maybe 8bitdo problem only?
Put down the shovel and let us take a look at this hole you’ve dug. You have an article or a resource backing up this sentiment? There is no difference to in game aim assist.
Doesn't explain why a Warzone legend like Truegamedata uses the Apex 4, and thoroughly recommends it to other Warzone pros and even amateurs.
Not weird for batteries to vary. Temperature also counts. Getting too cold or hot eats more power. So environment temps plus usage.
What kontrolfreek you can fit on the flydigi? It's the same for xbox controller?
the vader pro is just different. love that controller
So can you Use the Vader 4 Pro on the Xbox Series X ????? If Yes, "HOW" ????
I've used the Elite Series 2 ever since the Elite Series 1 came out as I "Need" Back Paddles but even Crucially important, the "Trigger Stops" but have had Many Issues with Stick Drift or the RB Lever Doesn't Register or the B Button doesn't Register & I don't even Use the B Button as I have that Remapped to One of the Back Paddles & I also Remap the Right Thumbstick Clicking Down to another Back Paddle, so my Only Use of the Right Thumbstick is for "Aiming" as I'm a Huge Call Of Duty Multiplayer & other FPS...
I'm also a Female Gamer, who isn't "Heavy Handed" Pressing Triggers, Buttons, Back Paddles etc & I Take Exceptional Gentle Care with My Controller & even Gaming Headsets...but I "REALLY WANT" the "VADER 4 PRO" & Want to "Know" IF & HOW you can use it with My Xbox Series X ??? I'd Greatly Appreciate an Answer Please...???
IF you can't use the Vader 4 Pro on the XSX, then I'll be looking at buying the PDP Victrix BFG PRO Controller for Xbox...but the Vader 4 Pro Truly is My 1st Option that I Love...
Please "Help" this Stallionette 🧐🤔🥺
Yeah you can use it with an adapter
@@f.f.2260 Oh Hi...Ok...but "what Adapter" (??) & will there be Any Compatible "Issues" having to use an Adapter ??
Thank you for your Reply, but I Need More "Details" if you could please...Much Appreciated 🐈⬛😺🐾
Google Brook Adapter
The brook adapter in the description still works (just used it)
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Hi again 😺 Alot of People say the Brooks Adaptor No Longer Works on 3rd Party Controllers as Xbox Put a "STOP" to that recently so that Only Xbox Licensed Controllers can be used....
Can You Please "Test" this by doing a "Video" Showing us Xbox Console Gamers "How" to Setup the Brooks Adaptor with the Vader 4 Pro Controller Step by Step & Show some Actual Gameplay ( MW3, as that's what I Play for Hours at a Time ) to Show IF there "Are" Any Issues or whether the Brooks Adaptor Actually "Does" Work where the Vader 4 Pro Controller Shows that All it's Features Work as they are Meant to & Advertised....as I Don't Want to Spend Money on the Controller & Adapter if it's Not Usable....Nobody would...Hence doing a Tutorial Video on the Adaptor Setup with the Vader 4 Pro Controller Step by Step & then Showing Online Multiplayer GamePlay for a Few Rounds etc would show If Any issues happen...
OH...can you Map the Right Stick Down Press to One of the 4 Back Buttons ?? As that is Crucial for Me...
I would Immensely Appreciate it if you could do the Tutorial Video & Answer All Questions....
I Don't Understand "WHY" they Don't Partner up with Xbox as 3rd Party Controllers as I Feel they would Sell SO Many & making Money for Xbox...
Anyway..."PLEASE" do a Video so I Know ( well, all Xbox Console Users ) whether the Brooks Adaptor Truly Works with Vader 4 Pro Controller on the Xbox Series X....as many People would Love to Watch it so we All Know if we can Safely Spend our Money on the 2 Products or Not...
Thank You again 🐈⬛😺🐾
I recently got the Vader 4 Pro and have been loving it so far.
I had pretty much only been using controllers with a PS style layout before, but it took me almost no time to get used to the Xbox layout.
I'm currently waiting for the accessories to arrive, and then I should have everything I need to kick ass with this controller. 😁
Can the Vader 4 Pro keep a remap of L4 R4 (pressing the sticks) on back buttons without the app open?
What accessories?
@lukemiller6410 The carrying case, some joystick attachments, and grips.
I didn't get the docking station, as I don't really like to leave my controllers outside.
@@oftentigreI believe that's L3 and R3.
In terms of remapping, I've already remapped the back buttons to the face buttons, and I've only had to make the change in the software once.
Once you remap it, the onboard memory in the controller will never forget.
@@StardustLegacyFighter Yeah I ment L3 and R3, my bad.
Nice, thank you!
Can the gyro on Gulikit be inverted yet?
(Gyro to stick) it is literally unusable for inverted players.
Can you do a video on the “best cables on Amazon” for controllers/wired gaming? There is a significant lack of content on it and I’d love to hear your input.
I got the vader 4 pro, literally a beast
Can the Vader 4 Pro keep a remap of L4 R4 (pressing the sticks) on back buttons without the app open?
@@oftentigre you need the app for remapping
Has anyone tried performing a battery upgrade modification to the vader 4 pro? I think installing a 5000 mAh lipo battery should fix the battery issue making it a near perfect controller.
What converter did you use to connect Vader4 pro to Xbox/Ps4?
I bought R90, but it doesn’t support Vader4 pro(of course) I don’t know what converter supports Vader4 pro
Mayflash Magic X, Wingman XB3 and GuliKit Goku. I know those three support the Vader 4 Pro.
Amazon has the Vader 4 Pro available. Not sure why it’s on there now, but it’s listed and purchasable at least for me in the US
That’s awesome
Is there an adapter to use with GK KK3 Max that doesn’t require the original Xbox controller to be plugged into and powered on the entire time?
so my kk3 jsut had a premature faulre from jsut under 1 year of use ont he right tirgger where it keeps going between 0 and the max vaule and no real way to repair it
Is the gullikit kk3 plug and play on pc?
remember guys the FlyDigi isn't on amazon uk only gulikit
It should be in in mid to late August
@@mattbon4101 here in october to say, sadly it isnt
Where do I buy one? I don’t see any on amazon
Hi there Kev, Cap I have a problem. I cant find key binding Increasing Rumble etc. manually on the NEWWW Vader 4 Pro I bought, Its def a WTF moment for me. No PC at the moment only ANDROIDS EVERYWHERE AROUND ME. I'm loosing my mind Captain. Please help, either if you know where I can find the info. ORR You maybe be kind enough to show the how to on the Vader 4 Pro.. Thanks for the Vids
better resting value of the sticks is important for people who like to edit-out the deadzones.
Better bippities make for smoother zippers aswell
Bought Vader 4 pro for 59 Euros from Banggood came within 12 days it's amazing for what i paid.
That’s fast. Everything I’ve ever ordered from Ali, wish, etc has taken 3-15 weeks
@@GamerHeavenOfficial I live in Greece for some reason at whatever site from china i order it comes within 2 weeks i have ordered hundreds of items from Ali and Banggood all within 2 weeks tops 20 days.

What does the function button do and how to use it I'm confused af ?
How do TMR sticks recenter if they don't have a spring nor rubber bands?
They do unfortunately have a typical recentering spring, but they have a couple redeeming traits which I like.
Buy a new one they last good just try not to remove the joysticks slot I messed mines ups like that
@@jorgegallegos6151How the hell did you manage to do that?
Do you know how to fix stick drift on the Vader 4 pro? I got it yesterday and it's already drifting. It seems to be a recentering problem, but the calibration usually just makes it drift in the other direction. Is there any way to fix this, or will I just have to wait for an update?
Is your deadzone set to 0? I have mine at 3. I know it's not a real fix but I feel no difference at 3 for me.
@wilazn I set it to 0 to see how much drift I get and it's up to 5.5%, my apex 4 got a max of 1.5%, and my t4k got a max of 3.7%
@wilazn it used to not drift but it auto calibrated after I updated the controller and now it's really off center for some reason
I'm used to Potentiometer sticks do the hall effect feel slower or faster in any way?
They will feel different and take time to get used to, some ppl see this as a massive disadvantage.
Thanks duder!
I heard you can heat up the KontrolFreeks and then mold them to your specific thumbsticks. I believe people boil them for like 10 minutes to do this.
Got my Vader 4 and apex 4 from Ali express and they’re perfectly fine.. nothing wrong with the vendors.
Glad to hear you’ve had no issue with vendors such as Ali express. Their track record speaks louder than anyone ever could.
Two days after its supposedly been launched, the vader 4 pro is not available to be shipped to me.
I'm in the US, so rip
Are you planning to buy it from Amazon?
@@StardustLegacyFighter Yeah, when I have the money for it-also kind of an update, it seems like its been listed. Late, but free prime shipping.
