    a year has passed and a lot of performance optimizations happened, with my rtx 4080 super I can get up to 120 fps in 4k ultra graphics frame gen (no dlss) at default aiports with pmdg 737, and drops to 70-60 fps with inibuilds airports with the fenix a320 which is the most demanding aircraft. I feel like the sim really did optimize the performance and it looks absolutely unreal!

    DLSS on 4K is upscaling a 1080-1440p image depending on the settings. Only with it off is it truly 4K. The frame generation basically doubles the FPS with interpolation so your true FPS on 3 screens was actually half of that 15 fps lol. It’s still amazing we can at least run this type of setup with hardware which isn’t insanely expensive. I imagine the 4090 is 50% faster than this card.

    You mention at the start of the video, 3:45, that you were experiencing the left and right monitor swapping places. I experienced the same thing happening on my setup with 4 monitors connected to the graphics card, MSI 4090 Suprim, with 3 DP ports and 1 HDMI port. With 3 monitors connected i do not have this happening.
    I found that by not switching on the monitor that was connected to the HDMI port when i started the computer, (so that the computer would only recognize that there were 3 monitors connected to the graphics card), and then starting MSFS, the sim would display all the windows on the correct monitors. I would then switch on the 4th monitor, the one connected to the HDMI port, and everything would be displayed in the correct position on all 4 monitors.
    I know that this means having to restart the computer when i want to fly in MSFS but by doing this i can avoid the frustration of having the left and right windows not being dispalyed on the correct monitor. This works for me on my system so maybe it might work for you as well.

    Have you tried to get frame gen or lossless scaling frame gen to work with triple screens yet? It seems that there is a method to get resize racoon to sort of wrangle up all the monitors into thinking it is one big one, then using LS frame gen to up them all. Have you, or anyone reading this done that, yet?

    • @g-locmedia

    I wonder how a 7900XTX would handle this. It ties with and beats the 4090 in some games, also has scaling and frame gen options, and can be had for cheaper than a 4080.
    I just ordered one for myself not even an hour ago, replacing my current 6800XT. I don't have triple 4k screens to test on though, I plan on going triple 1440p (just need to get that third monitor).

    Never ever go by the total CPU utilisation percentage to work out how hard that’s being pushed, always look at all the CPU cores individually to see how hard the cores that are Actually being used are being hit. You can be CPU or Main Thread limited and still be a low percentage on the overall CPU utilisation percentage as one or two cores are being hammered.

      How is the tracker IR going? Have you ever used it for MSFS? i might not have the space for full 50inch TVs, but i might compromise buying one good 55 and couple a track ir; might be fine for some while for me. I would guess that would work pretty fine, right? My current goal is to first finish the "budget" cockpit and hardware building, and maybe after going for crazy graphics card.

      Hello Mate. If money is no object then sure I'd go 4090 however. From what I can see online you might get 30% more out of a 4090. If by getting a 4080 allows you to buy some other flight gear then I'd be pushing you towards that. Because the 4080 can really do it. I have a FFB Yoke and I have also tried the NLR motion Plus Platform which is superb for flight, just a little out of my reach at the moment. To finish off, I'll say that the 4080 really did surprise me, it's a great experience all round. I have no hesitation on recommending it.

One issue I have is when using DLSS the gps screens appears clearly blurry, and in performance or below they are in the limit to be usable in the normal cockpit view, totally blurry. You do not mention nothing about the screens of the gps in your video, is that because you see them ok?, didn’t you had blurriness when activating the DLSS in the more performance levels?. @@mdhazeldine The 4080 is not the issue. It will easily run 80 FPS without frame generation even with all of the graphics settings set to Ultra. It is the traffic, object level of detail, and terrain level of detail that kill frame rate and that is because these setting load the CPU and not the GPU. Try for yourself. Set to Ultra and put your LOD sliders down to 50, and your frame rate will skyrocket. Increase them to 100, and your frame rate falls. Increase them to 150, and it plummets. The GPU isn't really the problem with MSFS, it is the main thread. I have a super high end GPU and I can't push my sliders up past about 130. @@g-locmedia Hello! Yes, I have DX12 turned on, but only the main monitor in the middle has Frame Generation enabled, the monitors on both sides still have low FPS.
      Although NVIDIA's ALT+R shows that the frame rates of the three monitors are the same, it actually only reads the frame rate data of the middle main monitor.
      I want to know how you enabled frame generation on all 3 monitors, thanks🥰

    What do you think the sweet spot is in monitor size for a setup like this. Would 65 inch or 70 inch monitors provide a better levels of immersion or is the 55 inch better because they are all the same resolution and going bigger just spreads out the pixels more?

    • @g-locmedia
      @g-locmedia  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question mate. Anything over 65” you’re really going to start to the the pixels at a distance of 2-3 feet. I had a choice of 55 or 65 and I went for the 55’s and don’t regret it.

    • @Brunnen_Gee
      @Brunnen_Gee ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pixel pitch starts to become a thing if you go too big. It's still the same number of pixels on the screen, but they get physically larger as the screen gets larger, and when you're sitting right up against it, things get pretty noticeable. 48-50" is what I'd consider the sweet spot. 55" is alright, 43" is really sharp.

      @WoLF-xp3cy I had a few issues with TV's and Cables. I started with the TCL but there was some false advertising about the TV. I ended up with he Hisense because it had VRR and 120hz which was important for future proofing. As far as cables go Ive had some issues with the HDMI convertors. The Display port to HDMI convertors were causing the image displayed to go all wonky and wig in and out. I also had issues with th4e HDMI cables. The original cables were 5m long. I changes this to 3m cables of a different brand and it seems to work. Just make sure your cables and convertors support Display Port 1.4 to HDMI 2.1.

    If you play 4k gaming you do not need a big CPU. A I5 is enough and it is better to use the money on a better GPU. Actually a I3 is enough and the money you save is enough to buy a RTX4090 instead. At least if you intended a RTX4080 like the host here.

      i have seen, there is almost no difference from small I3 to big I9 CPU in 4K. And Flightsim 2020 i think would look stunning in 4k . When paired with some 3600 C16 ram it was faster than the I9 9900K. Still could have used I3 9100 and bought the 2080 TI instead of the RTX2080. Cheap motherboard cheap CPU cheap Ram, good PSU and GPU and money last longer if not rich.
