- Join us on "Down at the Barns" as we delve into the rich history and restoration journey of a 1947 Ferguson Tractor, affectionately known as the 'Little Grey Fergie'. This tractor, powered by a Standard Motor company engine as used on the Vanguard and Triumph TR series of cars . This tractor was a game-changer in its time, offering affordability and innovative features like the hydraulic three-point hitch system, a standard in today's tractors. Every farmer loves the grey Fergus that revolutionised agriculture so long ago,we used one petrol model until the late seventies.
Thank you for sharing
nice fergie but its not a continental engine its an early standard motor company engine
Gotta love a little grey Fergie
Have you seen any recently Mike?
@@datbs lots here in Herefordshire
Not rare but sought after.
I get very confused on trying to figure out the differences in the motors. I know there’s an oil filter that goes on an angle then there’s an oil filter that goes straight up and down but then I have one that goes up in through the oil pan. And it is a TE model. I live in the US in Pa. I thinking remember seeing Z120 on the block, also mine has Lucas electronics.

As beautiful as he is, Ferguson tractors are far from rare.
Nice to hear the original 6v electrics are still in place just as they are on my 1949 TE-a 20.
Thank you for your comments I was led to believe this one was rare due to the pump position
Granted, I've not seen many with the filter adaptation. I believe the filter was placed at an angle to reduce the possibility of damage from snagging on low down obstructions.
