Would love to see how your products work for 4c hair, especially the air dry cream and the serum. I bought them already lol but tips help. Plus I have locs👀 but I like your nurture shampoo so far and the pre scalp oil already and I want to up my moisturizing and anti frizz game. I do like nothing after I wash my hair but it could use some extra juice between washes.

@@KEHM3831 a nylon and boar bristle brush for straight oily hair! Brush ur hair, root to tip, once or twice a day to DISTRIBUTE that oil from the scalp to the ends... Free leave-in conditioner!
The Embody shampoo & conditioner has been amazing for my fine, waxy scalp. Like, it LATHERS while still being moisturizing!
The recovery Serum is a must for the ends and mids and it feels so silky but lightweight.
Remember JVN is silicone free, and silicone isn't absorbed into the hair like other products and aren't absorbed by dry shampoo. The Hemisqualane in the JVN stuff has been an amazing replacement for me! I have bleached hair to help with my curl resistance and my ends aren't crispy nor my scalp oily since I jumped ship to silicone free and JVN 😉

i think once the capillary structure has changed from all the heat or chemical damage, there's no way coming back.. it took me 5 years and i still have some flattened parts (10%) because i never stopped straightening it, even tho I've been way more careful and concious about the damage! but I assure you it'll be the same once you really start taking care of it and it's all "brand new hair"

Look into the Curly Girl Method, there's what they call the Transition Phase, for me it was about 12 weeks and since then I've been fine. The key is to stop using heat in all forms ASAP, including hot water (and in this video they were using the hair dryer on hot, I wouldn't even do that), and moisturise moisturise moisturise. Your hair is damaged, you may need to cut it, but you will get there!

Edit: I also have the luck out that my sister is a licensed hair stylist. She so taught me how to care for my hair that's right for me. She cuts my layers so it's the perfect curly fro and the sharpest shag layers with a fringe when straight. ❤

My curls are very mixed like this and super fine in some places (yay aging/birth control/heat damage/breakage), so the tip about not being afraid to use a lot of product is major for me! That's a big reason I stopped using hair gel, I felt like I was weighing my hair down and getting super crunchy in some spots but less defined and frizzy in other spots, especially around my crown. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I do have a question about whether to use a finishing product that is either a humectant or emollient when dealing with high humidity. Living in the Deep South during the summer where the air is basically soup makes it very hard to wear my curls and not become a frizzball. Which do you recommend?

I have a very irregular wave/curl thing going on. I honestly don't do much styling or product. Mostly buns to keep it up and out of my face.
Lately I've been experimenting with some product and scrunching and sure drying and really liking the look and texture I get.
My question is this what do days 2-5 look like when living with curls? I get a tangly later underneath. Can I brush out the tangles and still keep a curly look that lasts for days?

Dear Jonathan! Is there a way to get your products in Europe? If not, can you recommend other natural products for curly hair?
    Thanks for your videos!!

Her cut is not the best to begin with, and it's a little shame that after so much time, labour and product, the best she can get out of it is this kind of woolly, stringy texture with almost no definition. I love JVN to bits but I wish hair dressers would stop pumping this kind of helmet-like, stringy curl look. I doubt that many curly girls actually crave that look (or at least I don't). I get the vibes that most curlies want juicy curl clumps, like actual locks, and to be honest, after much experimentation I think the only way to achieve that is using a bunch of rollers. The fluffing and scrunching only gives you a messy woolly helmet and a waste of product :/

My hair is wavy, not pretty little curls. My waves look cute on the bottom of my hair, but the top looks so frizzy.
I wish JVN would make a video featuring wavy hair and his products!

So, if we're not meant to wash our hair for more than 2-3 times a week, can it get wet the other days without using any product? I gotta go to work and can't leave my house without washing my hair as it gets all flat and stuck to my head after waking up. Please haaaalp!!!
