As a straight man in the midwest, i havent had a lot of exposure to how to take care of myself physically. You have helped me out so much. It has gotten considerably harder in recent years to find "men's help" without it being toxic. I have nothing of my masculinity i feel i need to prove, i just want to be healthy. Thank you Johnathan.

I’m so glad FINALLY someone brushes curly hair out to refresh, I watch all these TH-camrs just damp the hair, apply product and diffuse and it’s just knots on knots, thank you Jonathan !

Thank you JVN!!! I’m 48 years old & just discovered my hair is wavy/curly. Never used a hair product other than hair spray before this adventure. Needless to say I am lost, overwhelmed & exhausted! I learned more from this video than I did in the HOURS (WEEKS LOL) of binging other videos. Hope to one day be able to splurge & treat myself to JVN products!

Love this! I admit that I never diffuse because I’m a scruncher and an air dryer (my hair is a lot shorter) but this reminds me to layer multiple products and to think about some volumizing mousse for the top of my head.

love this learning to love my wavy curly hair from having it shaved two years ago and now about chin length and to save time i love to use steam and also sleep with my hair clipped up like medusa and with a bonnet now i just fluff and steam and all set in the mornings. but love how you said that if you invest in your wash day your style will last and this is so true.

Honestly, your product line has improved the health of my salt + pepper waves so much, I find I don’t need so many products any more. I use volume shampoo + conditioner and just a smidge of the blow out cream (even though I don’t ever blow it out) I just diffuse very briefly and then air dry the rest. Once it’s dry, just a couple of drops of shine oil. Refresh days I use air dry cream with damp hands and that’s it! Hemisqualane is magic!

I would love to see this routine on a person of color with curly hair please. This process is not one that would work on my hair in the same way… also the “brush” through on my curly hair is a whole detangling routine that I would just rather get in the shower and wet my hair completely instead of misting and that does not make for a “quick” refresh…

I love JVN but that is way too many products for my schedule and budget 😅 water is definitely key! I love the AS I AM products tbh, and CURLS creme brulee styling cream. Basically all I need. I did try JVN's air dry cream and my curls were very defined/shiny but they felt stiff which I'm not a fan of 😢 It smells amazing though 🍊

Jonathan, if you're ever back in LA or if I'm ever in Austin, I would gladly volunteer my hair for a tutorial because my hair is a medical mystery. It's naturally curly, but underneath is coils, around my face is waves, and the back part is dry and completely straight. The texture is pretty fine but I have TONS of hair and lose so much of it on a regular basis. I blow dry it straight most of the time but with any humidity it get's frizzy and curly. I would be so curious what you would recommend or how you would tackle my "unique" hair texture. I'm sure I'm not the only person here with uneven or combination hair. Would gladly send photos for reference.

This is a lot for a day 2 refresh. If the curls or waves were styled properly on day one, and properly maintained while sleeping, then all of this work shouldn't be necessary on day two. Perhaps day 3 or 4 depending on lifestyle and activities. Hair should not be blow dried every day either, even with low heat. Great results though, shows that if you do it like this right after washing you will have curls that can last a week without needing to wash them and only refreshing them.
