Fixed blade can fly just as accurate as a field point, it’s called bare shaft tune and tuning your bow and having the right spine arrow shaft,

Cut the fetching off and shoot your field points at about 7 yards to see if your arrow is coming off the bow plum. Get that right then shot your broadhead then field point and make adjustments as needed to getting together. Then use your fixed because they are more reliable. One arrow for everything.... Cheers.

interesting video always wondered how much of a difference fixed vs mechs would make fro accuracy for a "normal" shooter.... hard to get much from watching pro level shooters/bow tuners do tests. I noticed how you catch the bow with your bow hand (close your grip) after each shot.... I used to that as well, did not think much about it assuming the shots over by that point but after watching slow motion video of myself I could see I am grabbing long before the arrow has left the string. would not have guessed that. I must have been grabbing pretty consistent because my groups only shrank by around an inch at 50 yards or so BUT I did have to make a fairly significant windage adjustment once I stopped and it became much much easier to get my bare shafts to hit with field point also my bad shots or flyers are much closer to the group than they were before. Hope I dont sound like an internet know it all, I have only been shooting for a couple years only wanted to mention it because it was such an easy gain to make and I see it often.

From my experience I put a slight angle to my bow hand not to tilt the bow but to reduce the torque your putting on the bow and I very gentle rest two or three fingers on the front part of the handle. Don’t squeeze your fingers there mainly there to assure You will never drop the bow and you may not be as prone to close your hand after you fire the the string. In my experience. I’ve been shooting bows since I was 13 and over the years I’ve learned not to grab the bow after I shot because it will throw off your shot. Excellent video. I hope this may help ya

Accuracy pends on the shooter. The broadhead will do it’s job what it was created for. It’s up to the shooter to place the shot in the right spot. I lost a big Ohio deer last year with shoulder hit Killzone broadhead 70lb 29 inch PSE Mach 1 400 grain black eagle rampage. It sliced him hard and he bedded in sight. Another buck fought him on ground and he got on feet laying back down 50 yards from that spot! He passed me at 81 yards and I shot right under him on follow up and watched him stand and bed In bean field for 1 hr till got dark and slipped out! Found lots of blood and beds! Called in dog late next day never found him in a 300 acre corn field full of switch grass! Going to Try the Muzzy Trocar HYbrid this year? Own 15 broadheads fixed and mechanical I like! Never lost a deer bowhunting and killed many with Killzone till I lost my best deer ever last year. Guess it’s hunting and shot placement key.

To be fair and in my opinion- you didn't have a very fair test because those Blazer style vanes with no helical are not going to shoot a fixed blade very well. Try it again with some max stealth vanes with a good helical. It will help a lot.
    Great video btw.

Great observation. Put on a helical fletching for broadheads. It will eliminate a lot of problems with an arrow that is not optimized. I would have liked to see where he was hitting with field points in comparison to the broadheads.

Small points of feedback. The slow motion clips add very little to no value to the video. Fun to do but this matched with not filming impact during a video about accuracy was a mistake in my opinion. As the end user clicking on your video I wanted to see arrow flight from the shooters prospective and impact. Take it for what it’s worth. Just my opinion.

  • @manuelspicer1774

This video should be removed from TH-cam. This is an accuracy test done by a man that says in the video that I'm new. This should be done by someone more qualified. I would throw all of my equipment in the trash with any of those groups. You really do need to shoot at least 3 shots with each broadhead. Not enough of a comparison with only 2 shots in which you could've easily pulled on one of them. Any broadhead can hit the same place twice if the shot is good. They may not hit the bullseye but every broadhead test I've ever done, I got very small groups. The real difference between fixed and mechanical is that some fixed blades tend to plane out and shoot right and down from the high speed bows. I can tell you from experience that the Annihilator and the Montecs perform very well for fixed blades. Don't wait until you've lost the buck of a lifetime to listen to this advice. Throw the mechanicals in the trash where they belong. Accuracy means nothing if the arrow doesn't penetrate when it gets there. I've only recovered one deer that I shot with mechanicals. I lost 6 due them and 2 of them were monsters. You couldn't pay me enough money to use a mechanical ever again. IMO they should be outlawed.
