    The last broadhead in your test was a magnus glue on100 gr 2 blade with a installed screw in adapter, this broadhead was made in 2004 and we sold the glue on broadhead line in 2012 and we continue to make a entire line of our magnusbroadheads-LIFETIME REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE. 2024 is our 40th year making broadheads.

    You can't beat the qad exodus for a fixed blade broadhead.They fly awesome and are built like tanks ,they are very sharp and they are made in the usa!

    The QAD exodus used is the swept version, would be interesting to see if the non swept version would penetrate any differently

    Love the “pumpkin assumptions “! Definitely need same sized or one pumpkin to compare head styles. Big pumpkins are a great test though when you think about their structure. Thx for this!👍🏻

    In all my bow hunting season's. I have used the Rage hypodermic no collar. I get a big cut or pass through. The blood trails are awesome. They are 60 bucks for a 3 pack at Lancaster archery supply. Or Amazon the same thing for 37 dollars.

    The mechanical pumpkin wall thickness had to be a lot less than the one used for the mechanicals. Would have been great to see the pumkins cut in half and the wall thickness compared.

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did and the larger pumpkin was only a half inch thicker on both sides that is , I think the longer travel made more of the difference

      @@BackyardBows the wider pumpkin would grab the arrow shaft for longer. Idk now much the guts of the pumpkin would matter as that's more of an individual pumpkin thing.

    Great video! I do think the bigger pumpkin does make a difference. Very interesting results. I’d love to see the Ramcat Hydroshock 100 grain out to the test. I’ve used it for 10 years and yet to have a bad experience or a deer run far. Only knock on them is they don’t fit well in any quiver.

    There are so many different factors that come into penetration. The angle of the blades matter alot with penetration. Im assuming that's why that old one did better than them all. Great video as always.

  • @jasonard7227
    @jasonard7227 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    fun to watch but has zero to do with what they do on an animal and maybe its just the video but that plywood looks old and water logged. any head will pass through a deer without a bone hit but the cut on contact head will do better on not so good hits. also the heads your calling single bevel are double bevel heads. I use the iron will single bevels the qad the magnus black hornets and the tooth of the arrow single bevels all great heads. I do keep a shwacker in my quiver for a follow up shot so im not chancing my better heads. as always great video man thx

    The target defines the test. If this was in any way a legitimate test relating to performance on game animals then we would see the same amount of penetration on every animal shot regardless of arrow and broadhead choice. We know however that that is not the case. We see different amounts of penetration on game animals so any test that shows results that are all comparable are just invalid in a hunting situation. But I guess if anyone decides to hunt a pumpkin and plywood then you have proved to them that any broadhead will work and none of them will drastically outperform their competitors. Appreciate the effort and time taken to create the video it just doesn’t translate any real credible useful information as far as broadhead performance on game animals.

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I appreciate your comment but I beg to differ, half inch plywood is a great comparison to shoulder bone and the pumpkin is a very comparable to the rib cage, very thought out and consistent with real life applications

      @wrmartin73 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@BackyardBows not saying you didn’t put any thought into it I’m just saying your test is flawed. Every time you shoot the pumpkin and the board it changes the density of each object. Also wood is not a good representation of bone. Bone tends to crack and breaks away when penetrated. Wood does not it tends to hug the object that penetrates it hence the reason houses stay together with nails and screws. Also a pumpkin wouldn’t be the best representation of an animal. Animals have hair hide multiple layers and thicknesses of muscle that’s going in multiple directions as well as bones. I’m glad so many people on TH-cam are trying to “test” these things but 98% of the broadhead tests found on TH-cam while they may be fun to do or even entertaining to watch offer little to no credible evidence in a hunting situation. I’d just like to see the folks running these tests find a better way to run their test so that we quit misleading people that may be new to the bow hunting community.

    Once again, no VPA heads included in another fixed blade broadhead "test". The only test that matters is what the head does on tissue, organs and bone. That aside, VPAs are 100% made in the USA and all materials are sourced in the USA, unlike some of the cheap chinese garbage in this video.
