@@ljtambe6820 It's true! However, as there is also Gyarados, Electric type Pokemon is necessary too.
Lapras and Jolteon would be one of the Best Combination.
I've used several teams in Johto, But Typhlosion, Ampharos, Umbreon/Espeon have been used in all of them. Couldn't imagine building a Johto team without those three!

@@xyzzy-dv6te Glaceon may not be fast but she has the defenses and and special attack to back it up and if your aiming for speed go for a timid nature Glaceon amd try to EV train it in speed

These 6 helped me beat Lance quite easily, however in the 2nd Run (Rematch), it was a nightmare. At the time my pkmns were only on the mid 50's and Lance's Garchomp sweeped my intire team with outrage. After grinding for hours I chalenged him again and I still loss to his Dragonite. Took me 6 tries until I defeated him with only one pkmn remaning

Once it evolves into Togetic,Wait until it learns Baton Pass,And then use a Shiny Stone,And enjoy your time Air Slashing with Togekiss.
Very enjoyable battle, that use of berries was amazing, usually most people wouldn't strategize like you did, there aren't many fights like that on this platform.
I actually used the same strategy!
I just go real hard when trying to strategize!
It's not just about strategy, mixeli's videos have entertainment value. Not too much of a strategy to OHKO or THKO every mon efficiently, just good old classic face off of almost same leveled mons facing off against each other, struggling to take out each other, each mon trying their best to fulfill their role in battle and finally the player emerging as victorious that's what I love to see.

*Answer to QOTD. As I played so many games about PKMN Gold Silver Series including Remakes... I could not remember all, but I remember that I used SUICUNE (Gen 2) and Dragon Dance GYARADOS (Gen 4) to defeat many of Lance's Pokemon!!!*

@Ahya Fikri All his pokemon are flying type and only his Dragonites are dragon type. In the rematch, his Garchomp is his only non-flying type pokemon.

That was a great battle.
Personally when I played this game I always had my team to at least level 60 before challenging Lance.
My Team with Lance was Feraligatr, Ampharos, Miltank, Dragonite, Noctowl, Bellossom. Good video.

Typhlosion, Bellossom, Gyarados, Xatu, Heracross and Tyranitar. Greetings from Germany, my favourite is "Siegfried" obviously.
Tyranitar is really end game tho you should consider transfering one over

I was so proud to have obtained a dragonite on my own. Defeating the three of his with mine felt great.
Especially since mine was at the proper level, and his wasn’t.
My Johto team is Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Jolteon, Espeon, Tyranitar, Dragonite. Got an egg shortly after receiving Cyndaquil which hatched into Totodile, later got a Jolteon to take out Whitney's Miltank.
Funfact in Germand the meaning of siegfried is somebody who killed dragons

I started my journey in Johto back in 2012. I honestly haven't touched my game in years. It was only this year that I decided to replay this game and beat the champion along with Sun and Red on my 3DS VC in honour of Ash leaving the Pokemon anime. This morning, I finally beat Lance with my Feraligatr, Vulpix, Pupitar, Weepinbell, Magneton and Lugia, all at level 50. I even dedicated the final blow to Ash. Several times in fact because either the attacks weren't as effective as I thought or Lance used a full restore. Yes, after several years, I have finally beat Soulsilver, Sun and Red. Maybe not 100% complete, but I completed the main stories in each and that was my goal for this year.
None, because I haven't gotten SoulSilver yet :P

In my HeartGold copy, I had used my partner Feraligatr, Steelix, Ampharos, Pidgeot, and Ho-Oh. I don't think I used a 6th. I couldn't find the one right for me and I still beat Lance anyway.
Fun Fact: Despite being a Dragon Type Specialist, in his first Champion Battle all of Lance’s Pokémon are Flying Type

i know that lance is pretty easy to beat, but im kinda having trouble rn beating him (and sometimes kave any level-grinding techniques? tips, generally? id also like to develop and teably be replacing furret at some rate with anto , so suggestions would be appreciated. heres my team right now.

did you beat him? he is not easy if you dont get lapras i think, had to ditch a bellossom 44 to grind a swinub to a pislowine 46 to beat him, with my feraligatr 46 using ice punch helped too

Typhloshion,Ampharos,Heracross,Gyrados,Quagsire,Dragonair.
I never undestood what the big deal with Lance's under leveled Dragonites. In fact the whole underlevelled event occured even in red, blue & yellow where you could find a wild Pidgeotto at level 10 (I think you could even find them with even lower levels) in Yellow, to literally R/B/Y/G/S/C having Kakuna's & Metapods at levels lower than 7 both as wild and as trainer pokemon. Even Falkner has an underlevelled Pidgeotto as well.
So I was never bothered by Lance having underlevelled Dragonites even if it takes to Dragonair having to reach level 55 to evolve. I was more bothered by the fact that it made that champion fight too easy especially since I played R/B/Y and in those games Lance was a chore if you didnt posses an Ice Type pokemon or a pokemon that could learn ice moves. I used Blastoise in Yellow and it still struggled against that level 62 dragonite since i had no hyper potions left.
*This fight was literally too easy to win since Ice Punch is so easily available a Feraligatr, Blastoise, Poliwrath or any other Pokemon that can learn that move make quick work of him :/*
Would it have really killed them to make those Dragonites level 55? Or just keep them as dragonairs.

You know Typhlosion has a bad physical attack when a Gyarados 10 levels lower can survive a thunder punch to the face
And Gyrados has 4x weakness to electric too. Any lightning attack should be a OHKO

3. the 'cool pokemon' of the region (pseudo legends or favourites, e.g. arcanine, exeggutor, heracross, etc.)
4. eevee's evolution
5. rare pokemon that doesnt always appear
