I somehow beat Gary when I was 9 using only Blastoise, Dewgong, Zapdos and Articuno. Now I'm currently prepping my team to beat him in a hardcore nuzlocke run.
I just beat a nuzlocke as well. Elite 4 was jynx, lapras, gyarados, nidoking, moltres, magneton. i lost jynx to a shadow ball crit while trying to sweep Agatha. Then came Blue. He took out everyone except lapras, the carry of the elite 4 and nidoking, the carry of the entire run. Catching him right before that cave was probably the luckiest thing that happened to me in the entire run. My level cap was 52 and i used a rare candy on everyone after agatha. Very intense champion fight.
So this is the story: Lance was the champion and also an elite 4 member along with Lorelei, Bruno and Agatha. Then Blue came along, beat Lance (and the rest of the elite 4 members) and become the champion. But not for a long time because Red also managed to beat the elite 4 and after a long battle against Blue he also managed to beat him. After some times when Red was the champion he suddenly decided to train in Mt. Silver to become even stronger. So Lance become the champion again and he also hired three new elite 4 members: Will, Karen and Koga from fuchsia gym (along with Bruno). then Koga leave Jennine in his gym to run it as a gym leader when he was in the league as an elite 4 member. And then Gold begin his journey in the Jotho region, and after the whole story in the gen 2 games he managed to beat the elite 4 and Lance himself. After that he also managed to beat all the kanto leaders (including blue which replaces Giovanni in viridian gym) And get the access to Mt. Silver. In Mt. Silver he found Red (and also a Larvitar....) and challenge him to battle And after an epic battle Gold did the impossible and beat Red. Unfortunately we didn't get a battle between Brandon and gold in gen 3 but there is the story in gen 1&2

For the Gen 1 games the team I used for the Elite Four and Champion were Venusaur, Dodrio, Rhydon, Starmie, Jolteon, and Snorlax. When FireRed and LeafGreen came out I pretty much used the same team except I used Lapras instead of Starmie because I had FireRed and you couldn't get the Staryu line in that version

Leaf green was my second ever Pokémon game and my team was blastoise pidgeot raticate dugtrio raichu and alakazam. My dugtrio was called threk as a mix between shrek and 3. I thought it was hilarious although idk why I associated it with shrek. I think I just loved that movie
First time I cleared the LeafGreen E4 my team was RobFromIT the Charizard (Blast Burn, Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Fly), Bastard the Fearow (Drill Peck, Steel Wing, Aerial Ace, Leer), GarbageRat the Raticate (Strength, Hyper Fang, Cut, Super Fang), Big Mama the Nidoqueen (Earthquake, Surf, Rock Smash, Toxic), Snuggles the Gyarados (Return, Hyper Beam, Waterfall, Dragon Dance), and BEPIS the Raichu (Thunderbolt, Brick Break, Shock Wave, Secret Power). There's also my honorary team member, Zephyr the shiny Articuno, my first hunted shiny. Incredibly stupid names, and a bit unconventional but they absolutely decimated the E4 even underlevelled. I cherish that team to this day.
Okay, but Oak can suck it. Telling your own grandson that he didn't raise his pokemon with love and care when Blue very clearly did, and not even mentioning the fact that Leaf/Red might have a pokemon they just picked up on Victory Road and not had time to bond with. I guess Blue was in Pokemon Toeer for no reason then. That one moment disproves Oak's entire point. If Blur didn't care for his Pokemon, he sure as hell wouldn't be mourning Raticate.

QOTD: My team was Blaze the Charizard, Bolt the Jolteon, Larry the Lapras, Ploom the Vileplume, Gravvy the Graveler and last but not the least, Lax the Snorlax.
It was an intense battle when it was Blaze vs. Alakazam at the last
and Blaze took Alakazam down with a fire blast, with only 1 HP left.

Leaf green was my second ever Pokémon game and my team was blastoise pidgeot raticate dugtrio raichu and alakazam. My dugtrio was called threk as a mix between shrek and 3. I thought it was hilarious although idk why I associated it with shrek. I think I just loved that movie
First time I cleared the LeafGreen E4 my team was

and BEPIS the Raichu (Thunderbolt, Brick Break, Shock Wave, Secret Power).
There's also my honorary team member, Zephyr the shiny Articuno, my first hunted shiny.
Incredibly stupid names, and a bit unconventional but they absolutely decimated the E4 even underlevelled. I cherish that team to this day.
Okay, but Oak can suck it. Telling your own grandson that he didn't raise his pokemon with love and care when Blue very clearly did, and not even mentioning the fact that Leaf/Red might have a pokemon they just picked up on Victory Road and not had time to bond with. I guess Blue was in Pokemon Toeer for no reason then. That one moment disproves Oak's entire point. If Blur didn't care for his Pokemon, he sure as hell wouldn't be mourning Raticate.

It’s very odd how they nerfed his team from the originals.
His original team was in the low to mid level 60’s, but here his team is late level 50’s to low level 60’s.
It's because the originals had bad movepools.
I haven't played this game yet since my brother has it. He'll give it to me eventually whenever I'm ready to play it. Let's just hope he didn't misplace his game. I'll be playing Red, too when I get this game.
