I love the innovation coming out of Saudi Arabia... Their new city and that beautiful livery! I would like a little more graphic logo, but the color scheme is unbelievable.
at 4:48 to 5:08 you state that the forested global requirement would be 42600 new planes and that this would represent a value of US 8 Billion. As a Billion is equal to 1000 million, I take you meant US 8 TRILLION. Correct ?
Thank you for the update. Love that Riyadh livery! Making smart decisions early, Riyadh, by committing to GENX powered 787s. By dealing with US plane & engine makers will allow the possibility
@@paison812Not when it comes to the 787. The Airlines seem to think its better. Its definitely more efficient. The 737 MAX is also more efficient than the A320neo.

5:02: I think your math is wrong. An $8,000,000,000 order would make each plane $187,793. I think you meant TRILLION, not BILLION. The list price for the B737 MAX 9 as of 06/20/2023 is USD $128.9M; times 42,600 units is USD $5,491,140,000,000. (TRIllion, NOT BIllion)

@@jeffayoe7468 True, but that still fits 369 passengers in a 2-class config. The 777-9 fits 426 max in the same config. Though the A350 will have a bit more seats in business class.
They do have a competitor... not quite as big... but pretty close. the airbus a350 is cheaper, lighter with ultra long range. the sweet spot in the market.
The very largest twins is the one segment where Boeing is definitely ahead of its competition; Airbus does not have a good answer to the 777 series. At the other end I believe the only reason people are placing big orders for 737s is that the waiting list for 320s is SO long and Airbus cannot build A220s quickly. Boeing are way, way overdue for some major redesigns; their cockpits look like a WW2 bomber.
There doesn't need to be an answer for the 777. The 350 and 330Neo are doing just fine. Arab airlines that are holding out for it give way to the others for their spots.
I believe Airbus needs to be very careful as they have to be able to produce these orders. Engines! Boeing will have the same procurement issues with their very large orders and Boeing has Military and Aerospace contracts needing some matching electronics in the procurement processes. 2024-2025 will be interesting as I see procurement of heavy components and materials to be a huge issue. Airbus and Boeing have planes on the ground that cannot fly fares do to engines and non availability of parts and components
I've flown VivaAerobus multiple times. so far i've flown on their Boeing 737-300s (retired in 2016) as well as their A320s, A321neo, and A320neo. my personal favorite was the A321neo that I flew last year (ZIH-MEX and MTY-IAH). it was great. so i'd really love to see another order for more of the types, especially the 321neos.
Airbus A321 is the most uncomfortable airplane in my opinion. I flew in it several times and hope never have to again. It's constantly gear grinding noise and door slamming like loud noise is extremely annoying.
The fact that boeing have delivery slots for the max is a red flag. The airlines that choose the max over the NEO are all boeing operators (ryanair, southwest) or airlines that have to settle for the max due to high demand for the NEO (allegiant). The Airbus A320 family is the better option hence the extensive backlog.
Not entirely actually. Airlines have ordered max Aircraft for 757 and older a321 Aircraft and not necessarily U.S airlines only. The max will receive way more orders
Boeing needs to get their finger out. They have nothing that can compete with the A321 LR/ XLR. The outdated museum piece that the 737 is, regardless of version is long overdue for replacement. We will see if the B777X will ever get certified.. Continuing problems with the B787 is also a worry.. Boeing used to be a great airplane manufacturer, but not the last 20 years, since Wall Street and incompetent/ bonus greedy management destroyed the Aircraft manufacturer. Hope Boeing will be m🎉rged with Lockheed, otherwise they do not stand a chancein the future
