Luckily, I was clear that night and saw the whole thing from an observatory place. It was so weird once I saw it. Been observing ever since. Observe. Don't react. Things will change. Maybe worse at first, but you will keep your dignity and defeat.

I stood up for myself & pulled her up on her behaviour. She had no empathy at all. Because I exposed her she didn’t want to continue what we had going. She said a couple of times, “you changed when you didn’t get your way”. Which is a form of gaslighting & projection from her. I think in reality it’s, “I changed when in reality I just stopped living life the way she wanted me to for me to pay for everything.” And because I exposed her selfish self & told her she’s a user she then has no control any longer. Can’t help but think what we had was all a lie & a waste of my time, energy & money. Lucky it was only for 6 weeks.

So true. I walked away after my last discard - He threatened to divorce me (because I had said he was a bully). I called the bluff. I didn't know about narcissism then but I knew that a partner who throws out the idea of divorce like that (for nothing) is toxic. I had researched a lot about abusive relationships but my narc never hit me, so I never felt it was like that but something was really off. The more I saw a way out, the stronger I became inside. Outwardly, I had to let him believe I was still weak because he would outsmart me. Narcissists make a playbook, or a script, because they're masters at human psychology. I figured out his script, stayed quiet and didn't follow it. I'm divorced from him now - it took 5 years. I don't reveal much to him - I don't ever let on how well I'm doing - it's best that he thinks he defeated me. He does still try to scare me into paying him money, via our kids, I can hear him in the background, 'tell her this, tell her that', yelling, screaming. No reaction from me, let him scream. So glad I don't have to deal with him.

My son’s wife is a narcissist and I have learnt to deal with it to keep my close relationship with my son It’s a nightmare My son calls me at least 3/4 times a week he lives in USA and I live in Europe. It’s been extremely traumatic at times being humiliated gratuitously by my daughter in law and her level of meanness and lies is astounding. I have had therapy I cannot walk away as I don’t want to loose my son and 2 grandsons. I listened to you just now and am constantly trying to help myself deal with whatever comes next - I will spend 2 weeks with them over the holidays and my son makes sure I see him and family as often as possible. However it’s always a trial especially as the narcissist daughter in law will spring things on me I know never to be alone with her as she is so mean and makes up lies My son is either suffering in silence or has just accepted this Lucky he’s very successful and loves his work Bravissima for your advice and help as so many people suffer with these horrible destructive human beings who are basically mentally sick. I am still learning how to survive and have not lost my son which the wife tries to manipulate to happen

True. She saw me as intelligent, verbal, knowledgeable. A leader type who tends to become a leader in many different situations so I have, or gain status.
I don't like having power and don't misuse it so that's also a reason why I get chosen.
She found out too late, when the devalue phase started, that I know my value and didn't start crawling, that I was not an as easy victim as she thought. I'm also extremely good at seeing patterns so I quickly found out that she was trying to hook up with a new colleague and intended to replace me.
    Of course I divorced her.
Now she's uncertain about what I know about her and afraid that I'll expose her so she stays calm. If it changes it does but I've gained the upper hand.

I have low esteem for myself for so long that it is a big step up to think that it is, in a way, a compliment to have them dogging me. I am beginning to think of MYSELF in a different way with this new information, and it is also something for me to fight with! Not long before the break up, we were watching tv and he actually said that. Out of the blue, 'you're getting stronger'. I had no clue what he meant by this. His games and doing the opposite to things I said, picked up. Nothing serious, just stupid. Another fight would later happen and he once again said he should go to a motel so we can have some 'space' apart. This was a pattern now, and I had enough. He was at his regular motel, not far from where I lived. He drank and partied, when he got to the motel and I knew he would be sleeping off the booze the next morning. That night , while he partied, I took out all the empty cardboard boxes that I kept from our recent move, along with the packing tape, and I packed up all of his stuff, loaded them into the truck and in the morning, I sent one message, that I knew he would not see till after I was done, but it was noting that he could find all of his stuff out front of the management office of the motel. 6:00 a.m. I drove there. Parked right at the front, it was all quiet, and I stacked all of his boxes and stuff out front of the door, with his name on each box. Done. He was out for the last time, and even though there were messages back and forth and me now learning about NPD, I never asked him back. That will be 5 years this coming July. He still harasses me and stalked me, until a few months ago, when I moved away from that Town, where no one knows where we are, not even family or friends. My son and I are detoxing from 8 years with this loser and 5 years of him bothering us after the break up. I was not married to this jerk.

All of this is so true. As I saw my now deceased mother and as I watch a more animated version and enraged version in my sister, both, for the most part have stuck to the narcissistic script.
And their actions aren’t simply the intangible. It is things like trying to loosen the screws under your livelihood to breaking into what will soon be your home and changing the lock, so you can’t get in.
People who are just ripping themselves up, on the inside, trying to figure out a way to destroy you, straddling the fence on what might even get them arrested and end their own life. And I’m not sitting here thinking, “Well, I didn’t know I was this bad a$$!” No, I’m feeling nothing but sorrow for how much they feel they weren’t and aren’t. That, for them, it appears to be the Olympics of their life and their one goal, to destroy me. I can feel that probate has sent my sister out of her mind, because the control she thought she would have, by simply “allowing” me to live on one of the two properties, instead of owning it, is now gone. She has thrown every stone at me she can. But, when she broke into the house I will be receiving the deed to, against the court’s wishes, “perhaps”, she found that it was a bad idea. Because although I can’t get her arrested, because I don’t yet have the deed, she may know, through my correspondence with the court, that I would be all too comfortable with having her arrested and removed from living on the same block as myself. It would be a complete, peaceful relief for me. But, who knows? Narcissists’ hatred can be so strong that, yes, they can utterly go crazy. So, even though I don’t live there yet, I’m careful when I cross the street.

This video sums up my experience exactly - it is as if Rebecca actually knows me. In my case the narcissist loved it that he thought I was super brainy, and he saw me as very attractive (I'm not saying that I am or think I am) but then he wanted to bring it all down until the ultimate goal was to discard me as brutally as he possibly could. It made no sense at all.

    • @artfull334
      @artfull334 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@charlottepembroke I’ve been in the same situation as yourself and it doesn’t make any sense. The narcissist starts out with compliments, how attractive you are, how interesting you are, much you mean to them etc but they slowly reduce their praise and replace this with criticism. Someone hurt them before, someone made them feel humiliated and lonely and sadly we were their scapegoat. We didn’t see it coming. I ignored so many red flags at that time.

@@artfull334 Thanks for your supportive comment I really appreciate it. The one conclusion I've reached about narcissists is that it isn't your fault that it all went wrong - it is and was always on their terms - no matter what you did, said or how you behaved they were always going to ditch you (after worshipping the ground you walked on) and it was only ever going to be when THEY decided it would be.

    • @artfull334

@@charlottepembroke5446 Thanks for your reply💜Yes indeed very true, it’s not our fault it all went wrong. I was smitten with the guy at the start, he was not my usual type, he was handsome and charming but I chose to ignore the 🚩 flags. He asked me for a date shortly after ending his previous relationship. I knew this and I should have turned him down. Once our relationship began he would spend so much of his time talking about his Ex girlfriends, Ex Wife, his Ex boss that didn’t like him. I spent a lot of my time consoling him, he was walking around with so much emotional baggage. I often wondered why he was so preoccupied with his past. He slowly became more and more confident and distant. Eventually he became critical, blaming me and patronising towards me. He literally stole my confidence and happiness. I definitely know he was a sociopathic narcissist as I was eventually able to see through his mask. Narcissists are completely fake people and they are only able to use people for their own ends.
I hope your life is much better now and I hope you are a stronger person💜

Had a recent encounter and asked this male narc to leave my place politely then firmly then loudly. All the while he stayed, he lectured, he gaslit me, he accused me of losing my mind and needing professional help. The relief I felt when he finally left. Thank you for your vids. First altercation with my new narcissist friend. She saw me in a whole new light! I am an empath but I’m also very fierce and strong willed. I had no need to show the fierce side to her as friendship was going okay. She creepy love bombed me, bought me Un-wanted gifts. She talked so much, never listened. Not the kind of friend I need! I was ready to kick her to the curb.
After we went toe to toe over a disagreement she told me I frightened her!! What a joke!
I stood up to her and never threatened her in any way.

Time and energy. Very nice video. Getting to the core of the reality. 10 years in a family court room, without the focus of the family. Purely Weaponized artillery in the law I decided to go public and speak my truth. We would win, but the delay is now 11 years in the making would never have stopped many chances Mani Mani, and so he shall reap what he has sewn
What we really need off is a safety and being able to trust litigative leaders, attorneys to do the right thing and begin a campaign to remove those who do not comply. Children are seriously impacted, and the traumas that they have, it is simply excepted into their psyche reducing their confidence it is maniacal. So we need to really dig, deep blue, recognizing the psychological impediment to a society. Thank you for the platform and the Facebook it's been in lightning and cathartic to offer support.

All I know is relationships can hurt so much, I just spent a year like this,
Customer called me, I did a job, called me again I did another job for them, third time had a common interest in music, went to a show, this was over three months, then we got drunk and we woke up together, then she asked me to stay over, then 6 months of working like a dog at her business. Every time I would leave to do my own work I would return and be treated like I had an affair. Then had to make it up to her though affection and attention. This cycle kept happening. Then one day she went nuts on my return from work. Shouting and being so aggressive, I said a few times why are you attacking me. She went on and on so I grabbed my things and left. Then I get a phone call out of the blue saying she loved me and cares for me, then explains her business is her business her home is her home. All I ever did was support her. Jumped through hoops walked on egg shells, it was hell. Funniest part is after the discard she's at it again. Loves me, cares for me and claims were still an item. She's still phoning, I listen and say very little. I'm actually finding it quite funny now, annoyed I gave so much at the time, but we live and learn. The first week after the discard was hard, waking every few hours with thoughts of situations and sinarios during the relationship all adding up and patterns emerging. That bit was hard, advice I can give, when getting into a relationship make daily calender entries of your activities and time spent together. When you read it back after a year you'll see everything you'll need to know and it's easier to digest. Some people are just heartless so go careful everyone. Oh a last note another sign is watching their life improve and yours worsens, the grass is greenest where its watered.
