That's the problem we have narcissists sociopaths and psychopaths in government literally recent and current pms all the way to local councils and multi millionaires and billionaires pulling their strings yet the majority of the public don't realise this or care well until it affects themselves directly at that point the remainder of us have suffered for years
I'm gonna be sexist but honest, many women absolutely cannot stand admitting they could be wrong about anything, they're called "Karens" and they're absolutely everywhere. If you're a bloke and your wife/girlfriend always has to have the last word then she's probably a Karen.
Can you show a little bit of sympathy for a confused old lady? Why do you absolutely need to throw the rock at her? Do you feel better now? I hope that one day you will grow old and younger ones will be look at you with care and sympathy, that will teach you an essential lesson of life, there is no happy youth without elders and there is no happy end without kids..

My thoughts exactly. Apart from "should of"... which should have been "should've"... when pronounced it sounds like "should of" (when it's actually a contraction of "should have", if that wasn't clear), so it's an easy mistake to make. English is very complex, and grammar isn't really focused on as it used to be in British schools. Many people who have English as a second or third language have a better understanding of the grammar than native speakers, in my experience. I correct people not to be a dick, but as a member of the fight against ambiguous and unclear language, and the confusion and animosity that can arise when language is improperly utilised. "The fucking fucker's fucking fucked." Need I say more?
Well, she saw some big person over where kids were playing and went over in bossy mode to sort them out But then failed to realize she got it wrong and back out and failed to consider benefit of the doubt before presuming.

Before the days of internet, older skaters coming to the park was the only way us young-uns learned any new tricks or how to skate at all. Seen plenty of kids with a pair of boots or a board they couldn't ride yet, just sitting watching, learning.
"How are you a British champion?" "How am I a British champion? Because I have won the British championship 3 times, because I competed in the world series" That was beautiful. Honestly that was beautiful. Short of her head exploding at that point like on Kingsman you really can't improve on that. I dont know you, you dont know me, I dont skate, I dont know where Long Hanborough is, but I want you to know if ever our paths cross, I owe you a beer.

We had a similar incident to this many years ago at my local park. A local councillor came down to see the new park and some adults were skating with us, he didnt like it, thought they were pedos or something. He even called the fuzz. But joke was on him, the adults were actually our local skate crew and skate shop owner, the guy who PAID FOR AND BUILT the skatepark, and was well known to the police (due to his skating escapades) since he was a kid, lol. The police came, told off the councillor for wasting their time, watched us skate for a few minutes and left.

@jasonvoorhees5640im creeped out by people who act like adults interacting with children is inherently wrong or creepy. Why do you think adults can't interact with children in a non sexual way, unless you're a nonce?
This video made me so sad! So much respect for Sean Goff for not saying "Do you know who I am?" until at least 4 minutes in but also in the measured and respectful way he speaks, esp. in front of the kids. And also his point is so true! When I was a young skater (early 90s) we used to learn/look up to/idolise the older ones and they weren't half the level of Sean. To have access to, and learn from him is a blessing for these kids. As an aside, we had a skatepark in my hometown which was closed down for 'noise' because the old grannies (pre-Karen era) complained to the council. Of course the pubs, drunkenness and fighting right next to their houses continued, but the kids didn't have anywhere to skate. Great way to kill the scene...

@Immortal__ Did you just try and skirt around accusing someone with no evidence of child grooming? Do you realise how serious an accusation that is? It borders on defamation. Kids are usually most at risk from predators when the predators are family members and family friends, we do not solve the situation by separating kids and adults in day to day activities. Kids should be taught how to interact with strangers with the appropriate knowledge to identify dodgy characters, and other adults should watch for grooming behaviour without having to try and ban normal innocent interaction. No wonder people complain these days that kids don't relate to adults, when we've made it impossible for adults to actually have a normal conversation with kids and enjoy the same innocent activities.
@Immortal__ I'm not surprised Ms Penelope Marcus is a "Ms" She was okay to enquire, but when she was found to be wrong, she acted like any self important person (typical "chair of the pc" type person) and doubled down. Get a life, you sad person.

I hope they remember stating with a champion for the rest of their lives! 👏👏👏
She's a perfect representation of why society is failing. The public servants who we employ and install into positions to serve us don't realise they signed contracts and took roles of responsibility and duty. They only seek the role for the sense of empowerment and validation they're unable to derive from life through their own actions. As a result they think they signed a contract of rights and powers and that we're somehow beneath them.
No idea how this video appeared in my feed but grateful & relieved to see there are decent folk out there speaking up for & supporting kids. Shame on that horrible busy-body for going in guns blazing without weighing up the situation. Thank you 🤗
What a ridiculous woman. I don’t think age has anything to do with it. ( I’m a senior citizen) bought my two grandchildren skateboards recently and they were delighted. People have been campaigning here in North London for a skateboard park rather than spending money on planters and “ parklets” Some people objecting because they are afraid it would attract the wrong people. Well done Sean ! 👏
I regularly see some quite respectful kids skating on a road near where I live in north London, they always politley move aside when I'm either cycling or driving, it always fills me with happiness to see these kids playing outside rather than glued to a screeen inside, I think it would be great if they had somewhere safer off road they could learn some tricks.
Amazing that she comes up regarding a “problem” and witnesses that everyone there is happy and content, and she can’t just admit her fault and walk away, but must keep doubling down despite being obviously wrong. I fuck up all the time but gladly admit it and apologize - I can’t sleep at night if I don’t. I can’t imagine living like her.
She realized she was wrong half way through the interaction when she started to walk away but then her ego would not let her let it go. She just looked more and more unreasonable and unstable as she talked. I pity someone who is so miserable in her own lack of life enjoyment that she can’t see past her own initial wrong assumptions about the situation and see that there is a whole skate culture in action there that she doesn’t understand. It would have been a much better approach to be curious and ask the kids if they were getting enough time using the park.

Thank you Sean for the way you handled this and for carrying on the tradition of skaters helping other skaters. Never forget the first time I went to a skatepark - at age 29! I was so intimidated, thinking everyone would make fun of me. Quite the opposite. I had kids half my age showing me what to do, and as I progressed I returned the favor to groms that needed a little help/encouragement. That's what it's all about. And guess what else? Kids and grown-ups interacting helps strengthen communities! Ski mountains, skateparks, surf line-ups, bike trails, community courts and pitches - these are all places where age is erased and people learn to interact and respect one another, regardless of generational and societal differences. Classic case of someone injecting themselves into a situation where they had no business, and then being too proud to admit their error. Trained coaches ... bahahahaha!! Yeah let's waste tax dollars on that instead of encouraging local dads and lads learn from each other.

When I was a kid, I used to play tennis at a local tennis club. In the evenings we'd generally get kicked off the courts for the adults BUT that was okay because we had all day with the place to ourselves. One day I turned up with my friend for a knockabout and we were dismayed to see two adults on the court already, so we stood and watched. They were really good and then I realised the guy at the far end was actually the UK No.1 Jeremy Bates (yeah showing my age I know). Anyway, after half an hour they took a break and - to mine and my mates amazement, invited us to play doubles with them, with one of us 14 year olds on each side and I got to play with Jeremy Bates. It was like... WOW and they were so nice and didn't murder us with heavy serves and Jeremy even showed me a few tricks to help my tennis serve and backhand returns. Moral of this is, sport is for everyone and if I was a young skater and Sean Goff turned up at my skatepark, I would be in awe like I was with the tennis star. These busybodies can naff off, as they like to say themselves. I imagine she meant well and all that, but when the kids started speaking and saying it was all fine she should have listened and accepted she was - shock horror - WRONG!!! One of my most memorable days as a kid was when we had a retired pro from our area come down to the pitch and play with us, and im sure its the same for these kids hanging with Sean
I got a quite a laugh out of this. Why would she stay arguing when the kids she is trying to “help” are denying everything she has said? You handled the situation very well.
Oh Gawd! All she had to say was, 'I'm sorry. I didn't realise that' though I suppose 'thank you for helping these kids,' would have been too much to expect. Why is it that people can't own up when they realise they're wrong? She could have gone away feeling respected by adults and kids for admitting that she'd made a mistake, but she left looking like a silly, foolish, stubborn woman.
as a kid who skateboarded growing up, the older guys always looked out for us and helped us. Its a nice community and we all get on, not sure what shes on about.
Wow! That was very league of gentlemen lol. Karen: This is local town for local people, we'll have no trouble here! Pro skater: I'm literally five minutes down the road, lived around here all my life. Karen: Well, that's not local enough! It really was like watching a comedy sketch 😂
These type of people display an absolute inability to humble themselves and accept that have got the situation wrong. She had numerous opportunities to do so. Once she started, there is no way her ego would ever back down. She ignored every reasonable comment from Sean and the kids. There was a way to check in that the adults weren't taking over from the kids, without Karening on and on, and ignoring the reality. A non defensive person would have had to laugh at themselves by the time they realised Sean is a British champion. He only mentioned it because she started waffling on about the parish council getting "trained professionals" to coach the kids. She could have laughed and said, come and meet with us, we would love to encourage more of this for our kids. What a totally different interaction this could have been. She reminded me of my 79 year old mother.
I’m from Midsomer Norton and sadly recently the skate park has become a place where big kids ( not skaters) have been bullying / mugging little kids . We would give anything in our community to get it back to how it was, with older mentor skaters . To have a kind , caring professional skater at your ramp is such a blessing 🙏 silly woman x
Honestly, today's society.....😬 Why couldn't she just apologise and accept she was wrong, with every sentence she was just making it all worse. Well done for staying so calm and great to see all the kids telling her how it works there in taking turns 👏
If she’s clearly in the right, why doesn’t she contact the police? She wouldn’t be there unless she knows that there’s no legal basis for banning skate boarders.
This is waaaay more common than you'd think. When I was about 13-15, me and my mates would mess about in the skatepark with our bmxs and scooters, and the amount of times we go told off for using the skatepark properly was insane.
I can't imagine spending my time like this woman, just butting in and causing a nuisance in order to feel some power. It's also really confusing to me because she clearly lives with her head firmly up her own backside if she doesn't know that people of all ages skate, and that will have been the case for almost her entire life
I think it's great to see adults using these places, it prevents them from becoming teenage ghettos and, instead, creates a community spirit. How lucky these youngsters were to have champions giving them lessons too. That should have been the thing that finally made this foolish woman, just shut up but she kept digging herself into a hole.

Apart from "should of"... which should have been "should've"... when pronounced it sounds like "should of" (when it's actually a contraction of "should have", if that wasn't clear), so it's an easy mistake to make. Many people who have English as a second or third language have a better understanding of the grammar than native speakers, in my experience.

If I spoke out about some unfairness I thought I was witnessing and the people I was defending told me I have completely misinterpreted the situation, I would apologise and immediately stop talking. I wouldn't continue to ramble on over the same, unchanged points for minutes on end. Christ.
Another feather in the cap for those "Parish councils" 🤣
Surprised the kids were so polite until the “get a grip” which was entirely warranted by that point 😂
Thank you for teaching these young people that not all adults are the same and thank you for spending time with the one who didn't have as much confidence. I'm sure you know how that felt at one point.
Yep! This!
So many people miss out on so much because they lack confidence in themselves. Sometimes it just takes a little encouragement or a helping hand to get something amazing started.
Who knows, that kid could be a future champion...
I am so sick of people who want to be in charge of everyone and everything.
Sean nothing but respect to you dude.....helping kids and being a role model regardless of what they ride and then a clueless individual tries to be negative in such a positive environment.....mind boggling.
Wow, I remember Sean Goff. Good for him to still be skating, and politely standing up to tyrannical Karens that won’t admit they’ve made a mistake
She thinks she's right because in her world, skateboarding is for children, not adults.
Miserable is pretty much her base state of existence.
Classic example of being on the parish council and not being able to acknowledge when you have made a mistake. Fair enough going over to check but she couldn't say sorry. Doubling down as conceding and losing face is too unbearable.
She has resigned.
@@dune8943 A bit harsh.
This is why the world is in such a bad place, entitled people like that who have no clue what their talking about or who their talking to, its like going to the local football field and trying to chuck pele off when having a kick around with the local kids , what a pompass woman
I'm in my 40s and gave up skating years ago - but it blows my mind that the same busy-bodies that gave me grief back in the day, are still at it. It's wild that in 2023, people still think skate parks are a hive of people up to no good.
Same. Stopped when I started working. Dumb to hurt yourself skating for no reason and be off work for weeks.
@@__Tazzzo I started when I was 48. I got a surf skate board. Great fun in a basketball court. Put on some good music and zig-zag for an hour. No tricks, just feeling zen with a groove. Great exercise and low risk. (soft wheels help with pebbles, but helmet and wrist guards a must)
It's really good that they are engaging her in conversation and not just insulting her. Good job guys. would be better if this just didn't happen, but stuff happens and its how you handle it that matters.
Some people can't leave well enough alone.....and some people just can't say sorry when they are wrong.
Great comment mate, I’m 46 and I’m on the bike trails all the time and hopefully I’ll be back in the skateparks soon 🙂
that lady should give it a try herself
@Wildfox01 S0 busy she had the skate park built, so that adult morons can relive their youth.
@@craigevans8912awesome man! I’m 52 and still surf, skate, snowboard, and mountain bike. All of these sports have mixed ages participating, learning, and progressing together. Keeps us young imho.
If only more people could accept that from time to time, what a lovely world we'd live in :)
Her kind of person is the reason so many community centres have closed down in Britain today! Adult supervision especially someone who knows about the sport is a lovely way of getting our kids to enjoy being outside and doing any kind of socialising TOGETHER and staying safe! My heart breaks for our children these days they have nowhere to let off steam in most cities now, its become a very sad world for ALL of us😢 Would prefer my children to be out doors and learning chatting and enjoying life to the fullest, but these kind of KARENS have stopped this kind of freedom sadly 😢 Well done for staying calm and Thankyou for being there for these kids😊
Typical Parish Councillor - a tiny bit of ‘power’ goes to their head.
One of my most memorable days as a kid was when we had a retired pro from our area come down to the pitch and play with us, and im sure its the same for these kids hanging with Sean
Except with skateboarding its cool to watch and you can learn just by watching
I got a quite a laugh out of this.
Why would she stay arguing when the kids she is trying to “help” are denying everything she has said?
You handled the situation very well.
Oh Gawd! All she had to say was, 'I'm sorry. I didn't realise that' though I suppose 'thank you for helping these kids,' would have been too much to expect. Why is it that people can't own up when they realise they're wrong? She could have gone away feeling respected by adults and kids for admitting that she'd made a mistake, but she left looking like a silly, foolish, stubborn woman.
What an awful woman minding other peoples business
Whilst Sean and other adults are using this park the thugs and vandals will keep away. Respect Sean.
And the Crack dealer 😂
as a kid who skateboarded growing up, the older guys always looked out for us and helped us.
Bwahahah, yeah mate, literally. She went full Tubs on him.
A coke of can?
@@JivecattheMagnificent I was half expecting Papa Lazarou to turn up at the end and snatch her up for the circus... Hello Dave
😂😂👏👏
@@brocka-lee6068a can of can’t 😂
5 years ago it was a great skatepark.
@@stratblacknosugar.5125 there are plans to have a skate jam and to do more for that park . Fingers crossed 🤞
That's a shame, I live very local and used to skate that park a lot!
For a second I thought you were going to say the skaters were murdering Karens.
In that situation, you go down as a mob of parents and start lynching. Make them realise that if they go there again there will be fatalities.
Honestly, today's society.....😬
Why couldn't she just apologise and accept she was wrong, with every sentence she was just making it all worse.
Well done for staying so calm and great to see all the kids telling her how it works there in taking turns 👏
in what way is this exclusive to todays society... the only difference i see is cameras
Thank you Sean for taking time to teach kids. Who knows, 1 of them may turn out to be the next british champion.
More like Sean have a tissue as watch it happen as he is so proud how far they have come on their skills to be champion like him
If she’s clearly in the right, why doesn’t she contact the police? She wouldn’t be there unless she knows that there’s no legal basis for banning skate boarders.
This is waaaay more common than you'd think. When I was about 13-15, me and my mates would mess about in the skatepark with our bmxs and scooters, and the amount of times we go told off for using the skatepark properly was insane.
Hats off to you sir for keeping your cool when confronted by a miserable narcissist.
Well handled. Absolutely unnecessary and shows the absolute ignorance of people when it comes to facilities like this
I can't imagine spending my time like this woman, just butting in and causing a nuisance in order to feel some power. It's also really confusing to me because she clearly lives with her head firmly up her own backside if she doesn't know that people of all ages skate, and that will have been the case for almost her entire life
Love the way the kids stand up for you and tell her she's got it completely wrong!
I think it's great to see adults using these places, it prevents them from becoming teenage ghettos and, instead, creates a community spirit. How lucky these youngsters were to have champions giving them lessons too. That should have been the thing that finally made this foolish woman, just shut up but she kept digging herself into a hole.
Well done mate. I love seeing people like her being told the score by "ruffians". You're a legend. Power to the people. Big up for looking out for the youngers 🙌
Does she not realise the danger of everyone skating at exactly the same time?
I love that the kids were all standing up for him 😂
Mr Goff! You've helped so many people to get into physical activity over the decades, and have shown so many Oxfordshire kids how to push a world sport forward.
International legend and champion out and about inspiring the next crew.
