Growing up as a Skater in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's me and my friends learned that being courteous and respectful got us a lot farther with the haters then acting like little ass holes. As a former skateboarder if I ran into most of the skateboarders in these videos I would be pissed off at or want too call the cops on most of them." Skateboarding is not a crime!" Until you act or behave like a criminal.
The issues I had with security guards as a skater was that they are NOT supposed to touch you, that is not their job, they're supposed to ask you to leave and if you don't, they're supposed to call the cops and let them deal with it. That's why they're not given hand cuffs or weapons. I have issue with them grabbing people or tripping them, that is in fact a crime.

But if you're doing something illegal, then the security guard could argue he's doing a citizen's arrest. Even then, a security guard can only use reasonable force.riding a skateboard inside a public building can be illegal in most places so yes they can grab you if it’s within reasonable force

He iant supposed to do that. It's a liability issue. If they get hurt on the property the skaters could sue and cost the company money. Most of the time they fake it. Also it is so that no one else's property and other people stay safe. So that guard was either fired or written up.

I started skating in the mid 70s. We hit empty canals, those were the original half pipes. Skated on the streets and sidewalks, empty parking lots. We showed respect cause all we wanted to do was skate. We were still treated like shit for no reason.
In the 80s, skating blew up. Politicians got involved in a good way to show the public skating is not a bad thing. We got taxes to pay for free skate parks so anyone could skate.
It's shit like this thats giving skating a bad rep again.

I would love to provide skateparks all over the world and just keep building them everywhere so skaters have somewhere to go but can't let too many kid's there because they will get hurt like playing on a motorway. Skaters often look at a park full of kid's and walk away because they don't want to hurt them so they skate everywhere else more.
