There is no work life balance in medical field too, but our seniors are usually not idiots like IT industry, we enjoy working with them

@@econifywithanubhav No, I don't mind it that much...agreed we have 12-24 haour shifts but I m blessed with great seniors, they give us a lot of work but we can see them also doing a lot of work, they also teach us to be efficient and new skills

@@noirblack526 Great to know that. Having good seniors and boss makes a world of difference! Even if you are caught up in something terrible, having a good and understanding boss can be the difference between coming out of the situation smiling and getting depressed.

40+ hours (Energy sector). Late evening calls, expectation of working in the evenings or over the weekend to match or overlap US working hours.
Expecting to get work done on a yesterday basis.
Also, in India, most of the companies appreciate if you are working late.
In my case, my growth stopped abruptly after I had a kid. From a best performer, to an average person, to my current condition where my boss indirectly saying that I should not expect much growth….I have seen that in last 5 years.

Ya I read about it. That is indeed so sad!! Think of how many such people would be depressed but would go unreported because they don't take the final step! Something drastic change needs to happen and I think, it is now the Govt's job to take responsibility and bring out strong laws against such exploitation. The problem is there is no forum for such harassed employees to complain to!

@@hemanthpredator7381 You have touched upon a very important point about meetings. I'm from the Oil & Gas industry and my calendar would be entirely filled up with just meetings. I used to wonder when the hell would I find time to work on something myself. Most of these meetings are unproductive and inefficient. By the way, that's also something I take sessions on in my Business Comms training workshops. Just sharing :)
