Not only big 4, all private, public MNC and Indian companies do operate only in this manner.. Gvt should pass a bill in Parliament to restrict working hours to 8 hrs in week days with 2 days off. Those not interested to follow this rule should quit the country.. All these companies staff in u s, u k, Europe work only 6 hrs in a day.

This toxic culture is there in India in every sector. I used to work at a bank and my life was hell. I couldn’t sleep at night had to work weekends too. No one cared if I’m a woman, it was looked down upon if I left office at 7 pm. No one even bothered about how I would reach home. One of my colleagues died in office after having a heart attack, I couldn’t sleep that night I was so disturbed..he was under extreme pressure. Me and my female coworkers had to work till 10 during month ends no conveyance was provided. I left my job without any offer at hand and applied for Canadian PR. Today I work at a Canadian bank; my health has improved, no one micromanages or expects me to work beyond 4 pm, forget about working in weekends. My work is fully remote. In India there is no value for human life. This culture will never change simply because of population and competition. If you can’t perform you’re easily replaceable and there will be thousands waiting in line to fill your post

Icai should take action and also make proper rules. And atleast ca articleship ko experience count karna chaiye. Ca student 2 and 3 years full time kaam karte hein and see this mba students wo toh kabhi kabhi 6months bhi nahi internship karte and mba internship count karte. In my opinion, the major isuue is because there are no strict laws in India. My personal experience is I worked for an organization for 4 years in a row with 15 hours on weekends. Not a single leave for the past one year. And now suddenly my company fired my whole Data Science team citing Financial issues. The company now is not even open to discussion on the Full and Final Settlement because they know even if they don't pay, the employees cannot do anything through the legal process. They have not dispatched the salaries June onwards and fired the team in August mid. They said FnF will be done within 45 days and as of today the company has not even disclosed the FnF amount. This seems really stressful and frustrating because laws are not strict. I did not expect such a shameless behavior in the corporate world.

I gave interview 2 times @ Deloitte USI Hyderabad. There is a non-Technical manager, name is Subrato Bhowmick who is taking care of UK Global Mobility tax team & NL team. He is a non-Technical person. He is taking technical interviews and behaving like a Leader. He doesn't know about UK Tax Technical. He is wasting our time. Subrato earlier used to work with HSBC Kolkata and the PwC AC Kolkata GCS Team. Both are non-Tax technical teams. I have also 2 Big 4 experience. I never seen any 3rd class interviewer like Subrato Bhowmick before.

It might be a little better than what it is here. However don’t expect much as most people there are also Indians and I hear similar work culture is slowly getting build there too. However, its better for sure

I am a first attempt Cleared CA. I clearly can say that my EY experience of 3 years was too bad because of level of work pressure. CA anyways will be replaced by AI soon...😢 EY, bengaluru IT is developing so many AI Based softwares which will almost replace the CA's work.
